  • niga got skills

  • I think every system has it's strengths & weaknesses. Each studio emphasizes differently - pending on the instructor. They are heading in the right direction. Good luck... They have a good thing going for them.

  • i think i'll stick to krav...

  • if their are so many rules in UFC/MMA then it should (No longer) be called ultimate fighting championship, in keysi everything goes , ufc should be called UFS ultimate fighting sport :P

  • Where abouts are the guys that train people in KFM?

  • It was awesome to see this stuff in the Batman movies. I think it'd awesome to see this in more action movies.

  • To hit me, you have to get close to me. If you can touch me, i can touch you.

  • 2/2

the frequent use of headbutts especially to the chest and back (might have something hard in a coat pocket or a kevlar vest), the extra space in the mid section from this guard, the little use of kicks and knees, and the practicality of that multiple opponent scenario. i think all and all its pretty cool, and in the right hands brutal, but theres a tiny bit of room to botch it with the extra risks and the fact that most of it is in fighting (and theres some tall people out there)

checked out both keysi mma and monkey searches. the ground and pound techniques in "keysi mma" video are nasty and id love to train in that aspect. i like it and the guard hes using there. the monkey video is also practical, although it makes it somewhat easier to see when your gunna counter attack with anything but an elbow. (back to the video above)the guard i question is the elbows out instead of strait down as well as...

  • I agree with your opinion on the ground & pound. KFM has brutal ground & pound application

  • Silver.. perhaps u don't see the elbows -any centre strike is blocked by a quick turn and then, from which you take out ur oponents elbow.. Flippin awesome.. perfect self defense meathod

  • Looks interesting. No protection of your centreline?

  • WTF? awesome!

  • im on the ropes on this. it looks cool but theres a lot of room for error. definately wouldnt wanna learn it from a dvd (or any other fighting style for that matter). hands behind the head all open at any point in the fight could end up bad for ya. its really hard to improve on thai boxing standing. thai covers all ranges (mean elbows too), its simplified, and the D is solid. id have to see keysi spared with to be sure, but theres a reason every body switched to thai in the cage over the years.

  • Just type on youtube "keysi mma". Watch Andy Norman teaching KFM to MMA fighters for their fights. Even they (pro mma fighters) are impressed with the style, because Andy Norman showed them how effective it is.

KFM is based on natural fighting instincts. You can critic the KFM guard all you want, but that's just what the human body does. Even MT fighters and boxers use that guard at some point (because it is natural). Search for "crazy monkey boxing" for more info.

  • DUde, their hands are only like that AS they are striking. It adds momentum to your strike. It's actually very effective and you would need to have inhumanly fast reflexes to counter. Keysi is actually very similar to Krav Maga in some aspects, and both of them are extremely effective for real fighting.

  • Alot of Martial Artist can learn from Keysi Fighting Method and Implement it in there training both techinique and mindset/stragerty

  • Also... On this video it says something about Keysi method being in the blood and not technique... That would be called "Human Nature" to want to defend oneself just as a tiger would that you back into a corner. In San Soo, we study deflection, angulation, proper foot work etc. in order to generate the most power possible with the least amount of effort. Meaning, a person thats 200 lbs could generate a punch that would feel like a 400 lbs hammer hitting somebody with hardly any effort.

  • Well KFM is not trying to become something like San Soo or anything else. It is a street fighting method witch is totaly unique, and it is not buildt up from "the best tecniqes" from other martial art or any sports. And it says: "The essence of KFM is the cultivation of instict. To truly grasp and understand the KFM you must absorb it at KFM lives in the blood and not in the accumulation of the techniques." Not meaning to fight like a lion, tiger or any spesific animal.

  • The easiest way to understand KFM is to imagine that it is a new martial art, born in the streets of Spain. They say that it's not a Martial art so you don't confuse it with "sport" martial arts. But it is actually an ORIGINAL self-defense system, not a combination of other styles, but rather an original fighting style created by Justo Dieguez from his own personal experience in his street fights.

  • Although im sure this might be just fine... im a Kung Fu San Soo Practicioner (Tsoi li ho fut hung) and it seems to me that "Keysi" is trying to become something like "San Soo". Thats not a bad thing but what people need to understand is that San Soo has been tested on the battlefield and on "the streets" for 2000 years! San Soo is NOT a sport either!!

  • they could drop a majority of the headbutts...the elbows and fist/hand strikes look damn good though.

  • kfm or muay thai????

  • Ok, headbutt someone huge in the chest as hard as you cna and see what happens. If you punch someone you usually punch them in hte face or to a soft body area.

  • 0.48 ribs

    0.50 face

    0.53 collar bone

    0.58 shoulder joint etc etc.

I know it looks bizarre and its unorthodox but that's the point. Its about knowing how the body is composed and how it reacts. Understanding these things opens opportunities in a fight that you may have otherwise missed

  • You're right in that most people punch to the head. Watching one of the 2 billion fights on youtube tells us this. It also shows that it can be hard to land a solid hit partly because people are aware of the risk it poses. If fighting is -in reality- scrappy, then its best to learn how to scrap well, in a way no one else expects.

  • Fascinating style looks like Monkey style with more elbows. Headbutt; Any extra knock or minor attack will cause disruption (as per Ninjutsu/Kung Fu) keeping opponent off balance and give you more time to set-up a solid blow. It's more a ramming action than a head but anyway.

  • As usual there is always someone commenting calling this ineffective. It works, ive seen it in action.. it takes the combat into trapping range much like JKD, which is where most knockouts statistically occur. Good Stuff!!

  • From what i can tell this martial art has lots of potential against browl fights. It's a mixture from Kungfu(Wing Tsun) and maybe Jeet Kune Do. And from what i can only assume by some vids i saw the purpose of this art is to teach you to fight instinctly. Inflicting maximum damage to the opponent while u block most of the common attacks thus keeping you safe and also trying to find or create open spots on target.

  • I'm sorry but this is bullshit. What is the point of head butting someone's body? Head butts can be effective because they are usually a surprise attack attacking their head which KOs them. What's the point of slamming your head into a much larger mass (someone's body)? This looks looks awful.

  • Because normally you're fist is a much larger mass than someones body, right? And a 'preemptive' strike like a knee to groin means using a knee during a fight is redundant?

  • Looks like a good system, but i can see little flaws in it just like any martial art has. I would like to see how KFM goes with ground fighting.

Got to say though if you combine KFM with Krav Maga i think thats would make your stand-up game pretty deadly. Just my opinion though.

  • Hmm as being a Muay Thai boxer i first of all question a couple techniques such as: how they plan on blocking a kick to the body or inner leg. Im assuming just like any other form of MA or Self Defense. Just overall it may work in some situations(such as bar fights and street fights, not saying my MA is better for those than this), but it will definably leave you open to a lot of pain. Which is what most fighters try to avoid.

  • KFM has a lot of great potential with triangular blocks and strikes the major flaw in the system is using head strikes or head butts, as some people know them. You never want to give up your CPU or your central nervous system to an opponent striking with your head is possibly the worst thing to useunless you're Batman, who has a bulletproof helmet.

  • Yes I understand that it isnt a sport but at the same time how can you prove your system works with prepared displays. How do you think BJJ became so big in the US? I was just making a suggestion. I think its cool looking factor and newness is what drew the people of Batman to use it. And yes I did read the clip. I would bet you that if you challenged Rickson Gracie to a NHB fight he would accept or have a student fight. Just another way to solidify your fighting system.

  • Martial arts dont begin and end with UFC. When r people gona wake up.

  • heck.. kinda afraid it only work for batman ..

  • You need to prove the system by tweaking it for use in MMA organizations like UFC, or Dream.

  • didnt u read the clip that said "KFM isnt a sport"?

  • MMA organizations are sport based. Something as lethal (or so it looks) as this or krav maga would never be allowed in MMA competition. Chuck Liddell doesn't want his eyes poked out.

  • awesome method. wish there was a class near me!
