Is Atheism Dependent On Evolution? Absolutely, but so what?
.
lets say we lived in some strange topsy turvy universe where evolution was proven to be impossible and completely incorrect. The only reasonable explanation at that point for our existence would be a god. abiogenesis is one thing, but a homosapien forming from non living matter? that necessitates a creator that did not evolve either (in that universe).
.
We don't live in that crazy universe though so the question is rather pointless.
@YukonCornelius1776 That's a rather interesting thought. I guess one could also argue, though, that a crazy universe may have popped out non-evolving life fully formed without the need for a god.
disclaimer: I realise this is totaly nuts and in the real world i'm an atheist and in addition pretty sure that abiogenesis will have a natural explanation and that life evolved :P.
Who is this drunken jesus looking guy? He's awesome. His voice just sounds like how I imagine an elder teacher who knows the knowledge of the world, would sound like. Lol.
That's interesting....Exodus 31 has absolutely no mention of either slavery or "molestatation of pre-teen children".Look it up for yourselves, all freethinkers. And please think for yourselves.
@TheEaglestar1nowhere in the bible does it say child molestation is wrong. in fact the catholic church uses a verse in the new testament that says (i'm paraphrasing) "your body is not yours so whatever happens to it physically does not matter" the same church that says masturbation is wrong, in other words, you cannot touch yourself, but other people can... that's moral?
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx That's not the point I'm making my friend. The point is that Mr.Aaronra in the video here adamantly states that Exodus chapter 31 is where Moses condones"molestation of pre-teen children".This is simply not the case and is an example of a deliberate and false denigration of the Bible and also of the character of God and Moses.
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx I understand that you may not care about anything.I hope you do.I care for all people, and the truth, and I will give it to you.
Mr.Aaronra said Moses"promoted the molestation of pre-teen children in Exodus 31".
The truth is that Numbers 31;15-18 says,"'Have you allowed all the women to live?' he asked them.'Thet were the ones who followed Balaam's advice and were the means of turning the Israelites away from the Lord in what happened at Peor,...
@TheEaglestar1 I care about the truth, yes I understand Aron might have been wrong, i'm not gonna make a big deal about whether or not someone gets the chapter or verse correct. The fact is God did order that every non virgin woman, male child and unborn child be killed. How is that just at all? To keep ALL unwed virgin girls for yourself must include some sexual act. There was no marriage age restrictions and the only requirement for sex was marriage. The real "Good News" (cont)
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx Firstly,I want to thank you for making your points and also not hurling personal insults which is my experience and also now expectation of such discussions.
I'm really glad you care about the truth. The truth is undeniably that the Bible does not say Moses "promoted the molestation of pre-teen children in Exodus 31" which is verbatem from Mr.Aaronra.
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx In terms of justice, that is another subject.I have discussed truth and contexts and whether or not "molestation of pre-teen children" was "promoted" by Moses.
In terms of justice, the penalty as determined by God,for sin is death. This is physical death and spiritual death.Romans 6:23,"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Why death? Why not just a good telling off? Temporary incarceration?
@TheEaglestar1 you speak of is true, anyone who truly accepts Christ before death is given a chance of heaven. The killing and execution was not suppose to end with Christ. Matthew 5:17-20 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. (cont)
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx The context of Numbers 31;15-18 is that of Israelite men having sexual immorality and idolatry with Midianite women. As mentioned previously, the judgement for this was death to the men in the form of a plague and to the women in the form of execution.
To say that Moses "promoted molestation of pre-teen children" would not be a clear objective interpretation of Numbers 31:18,"but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man." Is it?
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx Sin is the antithesis of God who is Holy(ie completely separate from sin).God cannot be in the presence of sin or even look at sin.Because He is Holy.Since God is the Creator and sustainer of life(physical and spiritual),the result of any sin must be death as the source of life cannot be in the presence of sin.
Here,Jesus Christ dies physically and spiritually. This fulfills completely the law and what the prophets had been preparing for.
Matthew 5:17-20 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."
@TheEaglestar1 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. We should still be stoning gays and adulterers to death. As long as they (cont)
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx So now we can enjoy the new covenant of grace, which is the result of the fulfillment of the law which Jesus Christ's death and resurrection resulted in.Hebrews 9:15,"For this reason,Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive thepromised eternal inheiritance-now that He has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant."
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx The death sentence for sin is obsolete, the new covenant fulfuills the old law perfectly as Jesus Christ was the perfect sacrifice.John 8:7,"If any one of you is without sin,let him be the first to throw the stone at her."John 8;11,"Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared,"Go now and leave your life of sin."
Hebrews 8:13,"By calling this covenant 'new',He has made the first on obsolete, and what is obsolete and ageing will soon disappear."
@TheEaglestar1 why didn't god appear to the Chinese? They had much better methods for book keeping and a very easier language to translate. They are stories. Hebrew interpretations of stories older than the bible. The story of the flood is an exact copy of the Epic of Gilgamesh. The story of Jesus exactly matches the story of Horus. They are only stories. As much as you want them to be true, which i find hard to understand, 90% most likely aren't. I'm not here to insult anyone for what they
@TheEaglestar1 believe. The same faith that drives you to spread the gospel flew 3 planes into buildings and one into planes. They too felt strongly in their hearts that they were doing what was right. Hitler thought he was doing what was right. Whether or not its good or bad is truly just an opinion. Good and evil are creations of the human mind, along with your god. Christianity is immoral because it feeds on the biggest mystery of all.. death. That is immoral in my eyes.
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx Rightio.Just a few points to cover here.Whether you believe me or not,the Bible does hold water as theological truth.I invite you to really thoroughly investigate the issues you have with the Bible. Please don't accept other people's blase write offs such as "Moses promoted the molestation of pre-teen children in Exodus 31."I keep repeating this example because it refers to the antichristian propaganda in the video above and it is blatantly misleading.
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx Another point is my faith is not the same as that of people that flew planes into buildings or of people who worshipped their nationalism so much they cared nothing for the slaughter of millions. That is not a relationship based on love and grace.
"Jesus said,'My kingdom is notof this world.Ifit were,my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the jews. But now my kingdom is from another place."
@TheEaglestar1 to the myth of Boadicea fighting the Romans. The latter was just dreamed up by British people based on legends that probably didn't happen.
I jest. There is good historical evidence for Boadicea and the Battle of Waterloo and the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx These notions that the Bible is no more accurate than the Epic of Gilgamesh etc are further examples of deceptive antichritian propaganda. The Bible especially the gospels and New Testament, actually are very well supported as history. If you wish to think logically, you may as well say there is no evidence for the Battle of Waterloo.Prove it.The story was just made up to make the British look betterthan the French.Actually this fable is really similar
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx Christianity is not immoral:what is immoral is to wilfully deceive others resulting in them missing the relationship which will save them from a life of torment in eternity and also missing the abundant life to be enjoyed here and now.
@TheEaglestar1 We cannot say Christ fulfilled the prophecy just because the bible says he did. That's the thing Christians don't realize. They begin with an assertion the bible is true which causes them to be blind to the atrocities and contradictions throughout the bible. If the bible is the word of god, or inspired by god, or whatever, then it should be infallible, uncontradictory, and perfect. The bible is written by fallible humans. Bronze age humans with an ancient language.
@TheEaglestar1 lol so to break down your argument --> “Christianity isn’t immoral because it saves us from eternal torment that god created for us for no reason.. what immoral is not believing and questioning and allowing others to doubt because god will torture them forever... God loves everyone :D
@BaneOfAzrael I think you may misunderstand the nature of sin.Sin destroys people. So when someone lies,or is selfish,or is greedy,it harms both the person themselves and also other people around them.If God loves us,He will provide a means whereby sin can be overcome. That means is through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and through empowerment provided by the Holy Spirit. To be separated from God by sin is true torment here and now in this life and in the next.
@TheEaglestar1 Really? so if someone wanted to hurt my friend and I lied about where there are I’m committing a sin that destroys people and myself? ridiculous.
"If God loves us” --> I can do my best to live a moral life and according to the bible still go to hell. Alternatively I can lie, cheat, kill, rape, steal, etc. ask for forgiveness and get off scot free. Where is the justice in that?
@BaneOfAzrael This is a very rare hypothetical example of when it would not be a sin to lie.In most cases lieing is harmful to interpersonal relationships but in an extreme example where you are protecting someone from harm, the greater motive of protecting someone is valid.Take a look at Rahab in Joshua chapter 2.Under the new covenant of grace brought in by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, there is no set of rules to adhere to,only the laws of love for others.
@TheEaglestar1 "but in an extreme example where you are protecting someone from harm” --> Extreme? Common, its not extreme, Now that specific example had extreme harm, but there are little things that save people from harm, or something like lying to a friend because you have a surprise party planned.
Lying can be used for good or evil, or just indifferent. It depends on the context, situation, and intents.
@BaneOfAzrael There are no demands made by God to live a moral life.It is impossible for anyone to live a moral life using self-discipline.That is why grace is excercised on us when we enter into a relationship with God through the power of the Holy Spirit. It is not difficult:we accept forgiveness and knowing we cannot overcome harmful things such as selfishness by our own strength,we know God who empowers us to do so.It is truly a win-win freedom and joy situation.
@TheEaglestar1 "knowing we cannot overcome harmful things such as selfishness by our own strength” --> Sounds like your bloody lazy. “Wow is me, I have not the patience or discipline to improve my self and behaviour”
I don’t make excuses, I make steps forward. I fix things on my own
@BaneOfAzrael Firstly I want to assure you that I care for all people including you, someone I don't even know.
Secondly,I want to assure you that even though you accuse me of being lazy(despite the fact you know very little about me)I still want to discuss cordially with you.
Thirdly,I want to inform you of some things the Holy spirit has done through me to help illustrate that the Holy Spirit does not direct to laziness.
@BaneOfAzrael In 2003,the Holy Spirit directed me to go to Serbia to bring aid to refugees made homeless by war.In 2004,the Holy Spirit guided me to go to India to help out in projects to give vocational training in making jewelry and handcrafts for women formerly working as sex slaves. In 2005,I went to Nigeria to give free dental treatment to people in desparate poverty(I am a dental surgeon, along with running several businesses and founder of a charity and credit union).
@TheEaglestar1 "In 2003,the Holy Spirit directed me” --> So its not something you did on your own, in your own words you couldn’t do it on your own and had to have the “spirit” direct you
"who enables people to do much more and to a higher standard” --> BS. I know people who’ve given more without some supernatural being “directing them"
@BaneOfAzrael In 2007 I took a team of dentists to the Phillippines to do free dental work for muslims living in poverty in Manila.I also went to Kenya to support work on building an orphanage. In 2011 the Holy Spirit gave me motivation to set up a charity organisation to help build and rebuild fragmented communities and give local people jobs doing creative projects together. At present I am working with others to et up a credit union to help students get out of debt.
@BaneOfAzrael All these activities are directed by the Holy Spirit who enables people to do much more and to a higher standard than is possible in our own strength. It is all for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ and is entirely for others' benefit(I only tell people when it is essential to do so,so that they know it is the Holy Spirit that is behind this and not me).
@TheEaglestar1 "It is all for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ and is entirely for others’ benefit” --> sounds more like a chore, Holy spirit tells you do. You wouldn’t have done it without direction
@BaneOfAzrael Indeed the Holy Spirit does direct me my friend, but I can assure you that His way is that of freedom and grace. It is not a chore, lol! It is a joy!
An example:when I was in India some small children came to me asking for money as they were hungry.I went to a shop and bought them some bread. You wouldn't believe the joy that came over them. And their joy was truly my joy.I even get joy from the memory of it.Thanks for bringing it to mind.
@TheEaglestar1 The point I am making is that you’re demeaning the selflessness and charity of others with your claims. According to you, without the holy spirit for direction these things are not possible. So Either your wrong, and you simply need direction, or you’re suggesting that others who do this work on their own accord are doing if for selfish reasons.
@BaneOfAzrael As I said before,I care for all people and that includes hungry children in India and also unselfish people who are nonchristian in the West.Unselfish acts by those who are not christian are commendable.
It is the Holy spirit who directed me to India in the first instance.I definitively would not have gone if I was not a born again christian who was open to the leading of the Holy Spirit.Yes,before I was a christian I did some kind and generous things,yet...
@BaneOfAzrael it is the gracious leading of the Holy Spirit and enabled me to enjoy the experience of meeting those children in India and to recieve joy in serving them by giving them a simple gift of bread.
@BaneOfAzrael I do not believe that selfless giving of money, time and effort to this level is possible using natural rather than supernatural means(ie by my own strngth rather than by empowerment from the Holy Spirit),but if you would be so kind to inform me of the selfless things you have done through your own efforts,I am open to being corrected and labelled as lazy.
@TheEaglestar1 “ I do not believe that selfless giving of money, time and effort to this level is possible using natural rather than supernatural means” --well then you’d be wrong.
@TheEaglestar1 accept Christ prior to execution they may enter the kingdom of heaven but will be seen by the most righteous as lower beings. In other words, there is still a separation of souls in heaven based on what we do during this life. Christianity is not moral. If it wasn't for Secularism the church would still be executing people.
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx ...so that a plague struck the Lord's people. Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man,but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man."
The context of this is that Midianite women and Israelite men indulged in sexual immorality and idolatry in Numbers 25.As a result God judged the Israelite men with a plague in which 24,000 died(Numbers 25:9).So the Isrealite men were judged for their sinin Numbers 25,and..
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx ...the Midianite women were judged for their sin in Numbers chapter 31.
There is no "molestation of pre-teen children" mentioned in the Bible. The Midianite virgins were virgin and as such were not to be judged:being virgin they obviously had not indulged in sexual immorality.Since all the Midianite men were killed, they would not have the blessing of bearing children unless the Israelite men could care for them as wives.
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx The good news for us is that all this death and killing is today no longer necessary as the Lord Jesus Christ received the judgement for all sin via His death on the cross. So if we enter into a relationship with Him,we are freed from the curse of sin and death.
"There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, for the Spirit of life has set me free from the law of sin and death".Romans 8;1-2.
@Forlo12345 Because the Christian that told you that was talking out their ass. Slavery is immoral but Christians like that are even worse to justify it.
I love this channel. When I'm having a shitty day, all I have to do is come on here and watch a few videos so I could have something to laugh at (of course not without cringing).
Why do christians bother to come on here? lol I'm glad they do, but they just get destroyed by saying that we haven't read the bible properly. A lot of the time they fall back on this, it's so annoying. I'm so glad that on this show Matt studied the bible and was very religious for around 20 years of his life.
@stoicfan actually they don't think they got destroyed. They hang up and go back to their Christian frds and say "i totally owned Matt the other day!". It's like playing chess with a pigeon. It knocks the pieces over, craps all over the board, and flies back to other pigeons and proclaim victory.
@romney27 Treating the poor in any way says nothing of the existence of god. Aron was referring to strictly the claims that god exists, not that christians are capable of doing good things.
Atrocities are a personal subjective belief these gentlemen have concerning natural physical causal effect events. Science can not verify such nonsense. To claim so is not rational. It is belief. Morality is relative because it is subjective belief. Like gods it can not be proven to exist.
There is no such thing as negative. "negativity" is a belief. Natural causal effect events can not be determined by science to have the property "negative"
To claim so is to proclaim nothing but pure belief.
3 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”
Jude 18-19 states
18 how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. 19 These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit
Indeed. And the rapture is coming soonish. Now remember for did not Jesus say: "It is easier for a camel to thread the needle then it is for a rich man to pass into heaven". Better make sure you don't have any money (, just to be safe you know). It is a burden, but I am willing to take it off your hands.
Also. I'll be willing to send a message to your friends and family that didnot get into heaven to tell them your okay and they're gonna burn.
@thedutchman01 Ok thanks..I appreciate your concern...where can I send that too..your home address...I would love to send it there...and communicating with the dead is call necromancy..it is a very dangerous thing to do..becasue you are actually communing with demons..I believe that the Hypodzo.(ms spld) will not occur until after the sixth seal-sun and moon darkened..aftter the anti-christ comes..my view of eschatology..Don't worry I am broke, but I will give what I have if you need it..
@thedutchman01 Can't blame you for that...I am sure that was what the Apostle Paul said about talking to Ceaser just before he had his head chopped off.."was worth a try"..:) Did you know that there was a gate in the walls around Jerusalem, at the time of Jesus, that was called"the eye of the needle" that the people that went through it with camels had to make the beasts get down on thier knees and scoot through to get in? pretty interesting eh? Some believe Jesus was refering to this gate..
@thedutchman01 Cheers and Salute...now give Jesus the benifit of the Doubt..:)..and say hello to Brother Andrew.. The christians in America Love him dearly he is a great man of God from your incredible country..you know the guy who wrote "God's Smuggler"..Jesus also talked of another gate..".I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture,"..I have knelt down on my knees and crawled through this gate..and I have found the patures of peace.
I don't believe in god as there is no evidence to suggest he does. Same goes for Jesus. There are no contemporary eyewitness reports of him. More likely there were multiple persons who were congealed into the Jesus charachter and miracles were embelishments that were added over the oral tellings.
Besides. I don't like the charchter of your god that is displayed in the bible.
@thedutchman01 Ok you have been lied to. The New testament alone has over 5000 manuscripts or partial manuscripts of verification. More than any other ancient document. Homer's Illiad has over 400 and the earliest is in the 1300's. The earliest of the New testament Docs are within a hundred years of the origional writings. These were eye witness accounts. They all were kill, tortured or both. What for a lie? These people were with Jesus and gave us personal verifiable accounts. Godbless you.
@doobersmanster According to Harry Potter novels, a lot of people saw Harry fly on a bloom. So there were "eye witnesses" and Harry Potter must be real.
@doobersmanster Yourself admitted the NT was written at least decades after the time Jesus supposedly lived and died. That means they were written when Christianity already had near a 100 years to develop into a popular religion. So it's not a surprise that a lot of Christians had already written crap to support their own beliefs.
Look up when the new testament was written. I dare you.
Also. Homer's Illiad had nothing to do with the bible.
There are no eyewitness accounts for Jesus.
"They all were kill, tortured or both. What for a lie?" I don't even get what your point is here. Why does this lend any credence to the claim that the bible is right or wrong. I'm not saying these people didn't believe it. But that prooves nothing.
@thedutchman01 You say He is not real b/c no one seen Him then we you are told He is seen you say it is not true. You cannot have it both ways. You simply don't want it to be true. But I must still pray for your to see the Light.
@TrynaGetBacToMyLuv "You say He is not real b/c no one seen Him then we you are told He is seen you say it is not true. You cannot have it both ways." I'm sure you believe in Osiris and Vishnu and Shiva too, because people have claimed to have seen them. Unless you're just being a hypocrite here and saying "anyone seeing Jesus makes evidence for Jesus," but not applying these rules to everything else.
"They all were kill, tortured or both. What for a lie?"
If you ask a small child, who still believes in Santa, if Santa is real. It will say yes. That doesnot lend any credence to his (non-)existence though.
@thedutchman01 William Craig addresses that very question on a video..Titled is God like santa clause ..or something. Anyhow the evidence against Santa being real is conclusive, the evidence for the historical life of Jesus of Nazereth is overwhelming. That is the difference. Evidence. The apostles,as opposed to a child, Held Jesus Talked to him, ate with him..you get the picture. You are missing my point on the Illiad thing.
William Lane Craig is an lying sack of shit of the highest degree and not worthy of anyones attention. All his assumptions are stupid. And all he really ddoes is say that he doesn't understand the science and therefore it must be wrong.
An argument of ignorance is by default stupid and dishonoust.
The caller is really splitting hairs .... irrespective of any paticular mood , setting or situation , if a god wrote this, then he is fundamentally (dare i say it) Evil .this reminds me of the BNP trying hard to relate to people that they are not facists and they stand up for the decent person when in reality they are thugs .
@Youtlube32 Colossians 4:1: "Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven." or 1 Corinthians 12:13: "For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit." there are passages that speak of slavery. it never flat out says its okay, but it doesnt say it isnt okay either..... and i dont even need to bring up the old testament.
@LuxAuterna ... Matt is more than qualified to speak on the bible if you knew anything about his religious experience. I study the bible quite often, and every time I pick it up, it strengthens my belief that it is a book of evil. You can NEVER defend what the bible says about the actions of Moses, Joshua, Saul etc. Is it NEVER morally acceptable to: 1 Samuel 15; 3: "slay both man & woman, infant & suckling" or Numbers 31; 18: "all the women children, keep alive for yourselves."
@LuxAuterna ...""No I don't have to study it [the bible]!" Well done! Glad to see the honesty in the extent of your work or should I say lack of work. There is a context"
And you clearly fail to see the context to why Matt said that. What he meant is that the context of those passages are very clear, and nobody has to study it to understand how disgustingly immoral it is. And if you deny it means what it says, you're simply a liar. Why didn't god say, "Don't beat your slaves with a rod,"?
@NefailimFree I Like commandment when two men are fighting and the wife of hits the other men in the scrotum her hand must be cut off. I vote for making this a constitutional amendment.
in the callers defense the bible does protect slaves human rights to not be killed or direly injured, it sorta takes the stance of you can have slaves, you can beat them they are your property, but rember they are still human still it supports slavery and is thus immoral
On AronRa's comments, about religion and its correlation to crime.
Why is the "moral majority" a bunch of fucking criminals?
An excellent question. The same reason Hitler believed he was doing God's will with the genocide of the Jewish people. Because God will forgive them in the afterlife and its ok to kill how many people you would like. Good job God, you are an asshole.
@popebiscuit666 also he belived that god had ordered him to eliminate the evil jews and claim the land for gods chosen race eh believed he was a new prophet, also i find it odd that people have such a hard time beliveing hitler talked to gods after all according to the bible god ordered genocide in the old testament why not now, oh well there is no god so it doesnt really matter
Exodus 32 - 27 And he said to them, “Thus says the LORD God of Israel: ‘Let every man put his sword on his side, and go in and out from entrance to entrance throughout the camp, and let every man kill his brother, every man his companion, and every man his neighbor.’” .... Daaaaaaaaamn that's heavy
When I watch this I often wonder how can anyone believe after watching this. How can someone lead you step by step about the very book a theist promotes and when someone shows how what it says isn't all about love. When a person wants to show a theist how evil it is I am dumbfounded how people will defend segregation, slavery, murder on and on and on. This video could really change peoples minds if they themselves werent unslaved mentally.
Okay, so I went to a Church with a friend today just to see what they are doing. Today they preached about the Corinthian Christians and Paul said not to hang out with non-christian friends because they will poison your soul. Do not consort with people that are not "equally yoked" because their morals are different. They call us non-christian evil and crap.
The exact passages are. 2 Corinthians 6.14-7.1 Look it up and see it.
Exodus 31 is pretty short - it contains some ceremonial law, and a repeat of the Sabbath Law - it says nothing about "molestation of pre-teen children" .. does anyone know which verse he is actually referring to?
Jeff Dee and Matt or AronRa and Matt are two hosts that give absolutely no chance to theist callers. They chase them down with reason and ask questions they simply can't respond to.
@mestrini Thats just what I was thinking. They know the callers Religion better than the caller. They've heard all the arguments and they know how to counter them. Just using pure logic they point out all the flaws and make them look silly. I would not want to argue with them if I were a theist in fact if I would not want to argue with them now about something we do disagree on.
@mestrini - Yes! Those cruel bastards doggedly insist upon getting at the TRUTH instead of listening endlessly to hemming and hawing apologists who offer one bit of faulty reasoning after another to defend an indefensible load of cosmic horse hockey! (rolls eyes) The theist can't respond because to do so honestly would mean to admit the contradictory crap they believe.
I'd pay good bucks to witness "tchokofgawd" call in and get his ass pushed completely up his mouth.
The ACA has answered him on their blog and closed the issue for good but i bet that Matt wouldn't let the chance go by if the "call" would arrive.
Still, you can watch a recent episode where "John from London" calls in and does the stupid thing to ask Matt the "dreadful" question; of course the guy got cut off and Matt went on debunking it.
I think that, even though the guy was wrong that the Bible doesn't endorse slavery, they should have given him a chance to explain why he thinks it doesn't.
@smashballbrawler They did give him a chance, but as soon as the guy started going down justification lane, Matt put up a road block and said NO SIR, YOU'RE NOT GOING DOWN THERE!!
with the new ideas that parallel universes and other dimenisons exist and within those dimenisons and universes that there r beings that have the ability to influence matter/energy or affect reality in some way? what does every one else thing?
@ellimist6 probably not observable. therefore it's philosophy and not science. well there's is a possibility but there is no evidence at all regarding these "beings". so it's the possibility that we will find rainbow-pooping robot unicorns there^^
You very well could be pulling even better clips than FFreeThinker... which is a near impossible task. Either way, you're doing a spiffy fucking job at it, and I sincerely appreciate you spending so much of your time to share these clips with us.
Sick lying jew, never admit that their beliefs are fucked up! The Torah is even worse and the koran is even more grotesque.

@YukonCornelius1776 That's a rather interesting thought. I guess one could also argue, though, that a crazy universe may have popped out non-evolving life fully formed without the need for a god.

@TheEaglestar1nowhere in the bible does it say child molestation is wrong. in fact the catholic church uses a verse in the new testament that says (i'm paraphrasing) "your body is not yours so whatever happens to it physically does not matter" the same church that says masturbation is wrong, in other words, you cannot touch yourself, but other people can... that's moral?
xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx 2 weeks ago
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx That's not the point I'm making my friend. The point is that Mr.Aaronra in the video here adamantly states that Exodus chapter 31 is where Moses condones"molestation of pre-teen children".This is simply not the case and is an example of a deliberate and false denigration of the Bible and also of the character of God and Moses.

TheEaglestar1 2 weeks ago
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx In terms of justice, that is another subject.I have discussed truth and contexts and whether or not "molestation of pre-teen children" was "promoted" by Moses.
In terms of justice, the penalty as determined by God,for sin is death. This is physical death and spiritual death.Romans 6:23,"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Why death? Why not just a good telling off? Temporary incarceration?
TheEaglestar1 2 weeks ago
@TheEaglestar1 you speak of is true, anyone who truly accepts Christ before death is given a chance of heaven. The killing and execution was not suppose to end with Christ. Matthew 5:17-20 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. (cont)
xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx 2 weeks ago
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx The context of Numbers 31;15-18 is that of Israelite men having sexual immorality and idolatry with Midianite women. As mentioned previously, the judgement for this was death to the men in the form of a plague and to the women in the form of execution.
To say that Moses "promoted molestation of pre-teen children" would not be a clear objective interpretation of Numbers 31:18,"but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man." Is it?
TheEaglestar1 2 weeks ago
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx Sin is the antithesis of God who is Holy(ie completely separate from sin).God cannot be in the presence of sin or even look at sin.Because He is Holy.Since God is the Creator and sustainer of life(physical and spiritual),the result of any sin must be death as the source of life cannot be in the presence of sin.

TheEaglestar1 2 weeks ago
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx The death sentence for sin is obsolete, the new covenant fulfuills the old law perfectly as Jesus Christ was the perfect sacrifice.John 8:7,"If any one of you is without sin,let him be the first to throw the stone at her."John 8;11,"Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared,"Go now and leave your life of sin."
Hebrews 8:13,"By calling this covenant 'new',He has made the first on obsolete, and what is obsolete and ageing will soon disappear."
TheEaglestar1 2 weeks ago
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx Hebrews 10:1,"The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming-not the realities themselves."
Hebrews 10;3-4,"But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins, because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins."
Hebrews 10:18,"And where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin."
To give out the death sentence for sin in the new covenant of grace is to deny that Perfect Sacrifice was made.

@TheEaglestar1 why didn't god appear to the Chinese? They had much better methods for book keeping and a very easier language to translate. They are stories. Christianity is immoral because it feeds on the biggest mystery of all.. death. That is immoral in my eyes.
xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx 2 weeks ago
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx Rightio.Just a few points to cover here.Whether you believe me or not,the Bible does hold water as theological truth.I invite you to really thoroughly investigate the issues you have with the Bible. Please don't accept other people's blase write offs such as "Moses promoted the molestation of pre-teen children in Exodus 31."I keep repeating this example because it refers to the antichristian propaganda in the video above and it is blatantly misleading.
TheEaglestar1 2 weeks ago
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx Another point is my faith is not the same as that of people that flew planes into buildings or of people who worshipped their nationalism so much they cared nothing for the slaughter of millions. That is not a relationship based on love and grace.

TheEaglestar1 2 weeks ago
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx Christianity is not immoral:what is immoral is to wilfully deceive others resulting in them missing the relationship which will save them from a life of torment in eternity and also missing the abundant life to be enjoyed here and now.
TheEaglestar1 2 weeks ago
@TheEaglestar1 We cannot say Christ fulfilled the prophecy just because the bible says he did. That's the thing Christians don't realize. They begin with an assertion the bible is true which causes them to be blind to the atrocities and contradictions throughout the bible. If the bible is the word of god, or inspired by god, or whatever, then it should be infallible, uncontradictory, and perfect. The bible is written by fallible humans. Bronze age humans with an ancient language.
xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx 2 weeks ago
@TheEaglestar1 lol so to break down your argument --> “Christianity isn’t immoral because it saves us from eternal torment that god created for us for no reason.. what immoral is not believing and questioning and allowing others to doubt because god will torture them forever... The immoral one in this situation is God
BaneOfAzrael 1 week ago
@BaneOfAzrael I think you may misunderstand the nature of sin.Sin destroys people. So when someone lies,or is selfish,or is greedy,it harms both the person themselves and also other people around them.If God loves us,He will provide a means whereby sin can be overcome. That means is through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and through empowerment provided by the Holy Spirit. To be separated from God by sin is true torment here and now in this life and in the next.
TheEaglestar1 1 week ago
@TheEaglestar1 Really? so if someone wanted to hurt my friend and I lied about where there are I’m committing a sin that destroys people and myself? ridiculous.
"If God loves us” --> I can do my best to live a moral life and according to the bible still go to hell. Alternatively I can lie, cheat, kill, rape, steal, etc. ask for forgiveness and get off scot free. Where is the justice in that?
BaneOfAzrael 1 week ago
@BaneOfAzrael This is a very rare hypothetical example of when it would not be a sin to lie.In most cases lieing is harmful to interpersonal relationships but in an extreme example where you are protecting someone from harm, the greater motive of protecting someone is valid.Take a look at Rahab in Joshua chapter 2.Under the new covenant of grace brought in by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, there is no set of rules to adhere to,only the laws of love for others.
TheEaglestar1 6 days ago
@TheEaglestar1 "but in an extreme example where you are protecting someone from harm” --> Extreme? Common, its not extreme, Now that specific example had extreme harm, but there are little things that save people from harm, or something like lying to a friend because you have a surprise party planned.
Lying can be used for good or evil, or just indifferent. It depends on the context, situation, and intents.
BaneOfAzrael 3 days ago
@TheEaglestar1 "is no set of rules to adhere to” --> not according to Jesus.
BaneOfAzrael 3 days ago
@BaneOfAzrael There are no demands made by God to live a moral life.It is impossible for anyone to live a moral life using self-discipline.That is why grace is excercised on us when we enter into a relationship with God through the power of the Holy Spirit. It is not difficult:we accept forgiveness and knowing we cannot overcome harmful things such as selfishness by our own strength,we know God who empowers us to do so.It is truly a win-win freedom and joy situation.
TheEaglestar1 6 days ago

TheEaglestar1 3 days ago
@BaneOfAzrael In 2003,the Holy Spirit directed me to go to Serbia to bring aid to refugees made homeless by war.In 2004,the Holy Spirit guided me to go to India to help out in projects to give vocational training in making jewelry and handcrafts for women formerly working as sex slaves. In 2005,I went to Nigeria to give free dental treatment to people in desparate poverty(I am a dental surgeon, along with running several businesses and founder of a charity and credit union).
TheEaglestar1 3 days ago
@TheEaglestar1 "In 2003,the Holy Spirit directed me” --> So its not something you did on your own, in your own words you couldn’t do it on your own and had to have the “spirit” direct you
"who enables people to do much more and to a higher standard” --> BS. I know people who’ve given more without some supernatural being “directing them"
BaneOfAzrael 3 days ago
@BaneOfAzrael In 2007 I took a team of dentists to the Phillippines to do free dental work for muslims living in poverty in Manila.I also went to Kenya to support work on building an orphanage. In 2011 the Holy Spirit gave me motivation to set up a charity organisation to help build and rebuild fragmented communities and give local people jobs doing creative projects together. At present I am working with others to et up a credit union to help students get out of debt.
TheEaglestar1 3 days ago
@BaneOfAzrael All these activities are directed by the Holy Spirit who enables people to do much more and to a higher standard than is possible in our own strength. It is all for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ and is entirely for others' benefit(I only tell people when it is essential to do so,so that they know it is the Holy Spirit that is behind this and not me).
TheEaglestar1 3 days ago
@TheEaglestar1 "It is all for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ and is entirely for others’ benefit” --> sounds more like a chore, Holy spirit tells you do. You wouldn’t have done it without direction
BaneOfAzrael 3 days ago
@BaneOfAzrael Indeed the Holy Spirit does direct me my friend, but I can assure you that His way is that of freedom and grace. It is not a chore, lol! It is a joy!
An example:when I was in India some small children came to me asking for money as they were hungry.I went to a shop and bought them some bread. You wouldn't believe the joy that came over them. And their joy was truly my joy.I even get joy from the memory of it.Thanks for bringing it to mind.
TheEaglestar1 2 days ago
@TheEaglestar1 The point I am making is that you’re demeaning the selflessness and charity of others with your claims. According to you, without the holy spirit for direction these things are not possible. So Either your wrong, and you simply need direction, or you’re suggesting that others who do this work on their own accord are doing if for selfish reasons.
BaneOfAzrael 2 days ago
@BaneOfAzrael As I said before,I care for all people and that includes hungry children in India and also unselfish people who are nonchristian in the West.Unselfish acts by those who are not christian are commendable.
It is the Holy spirit who directed me to India in the first instance.I definitively would not have gone if I was not a born again christian who was open to the leading of the Holy Spirit.Yes,before I was a christian I did some kind and generous things,yet...
TheEaglestar1 2 days ago
@BaneOfAzrael it is the gracious leading of the Holy Spirit and enabled me to enjoy the experience of meeting those children in India and to recieve joy in serving them by giving them a simple gift of bread.
TheEaglestar1 2 days ago
@BaneOfAzrael I do not believe that selfless giving of money, time and effort to this level is possible using natural rather than supernatural means(ie by my own strngth rather than by empowerment from the Holy Spirit),but if you would be so kind to inform me of the selfless things you have done through your own efforts,I am open to being corrected and labelled as lazy.

TheEaglestar1 2 weeks ago
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx ...the Midianite women were judged for their sin in Numbers chapter 31.
There is no "molestation of pre-teen children" mentioned in the Bible. The Midianite virgins were virgin and as such were not to be judged:being virgin they obviously had not indulged in sexual immorality.Since all the Midianite men were killed, they would not have the blessing of bearing children unless the Israelite men could care for them as wives.
TheEaglestar1 2 weeks ago
@xXDISASTERPIECE934Xx The good news for us is that all this death and killing is today no longer necessary as the Lord Jesus Christ received the judgement for all sin via His death on the cross. So if we enter into a relationship with Him,we are freed from the curse of sin and death.

@thedutchman01 There is no eyewitness account for Jesus? Look up on youtube all the people who seen Him in the 21 century. Look up on outube.
TrynaGetBacToMyLuv 6 months ago
@TrynaGetBacToMyLuv
And when I was really drunk on absinth I once saw little green midgets running around on a round-a-bout.
What's your point?
Just because somebody claims to have seen a thing doesn't make it so.
We humans are good at recognizing shit that isn't there.
thedutchman01 6 months ago 4
@thedutchman01 You say He is not real b/c no one seen Him then we you are told He is seen you say it is not true. You cannot have it both ways. You simply don't want it to be true. But I must still pray for your to see the Light.
TrynaGetBacToMyLuv 6 months ago
@TrynaGetBacToMyLuv
I say that just because somebody claims to have seen a thing. Doesnot make it true.
My example of the midgets was to illustrate the point. I saw them, but that doesnot make them exist.
To proove they exist I need real verifiable evidence. Same goes for your god. Just because someone claims to have seen him. Doesnot make it so.
You can keep your prayers. I rather you do something usefull, like give blood, instead of just making yourself feel good while doing nothing at all.
thedutchman01 6 months ago
@TrynaGetBacToMyLuv "You say He is not real b/c no one seen Him then we you are told He is seen you say it is not true. You cannot have it both ways." I'm sure you believe in Osiris and Vishnu and Shiva too, because people have claimed to have seen them. Unless you're just being a hypocrite here and saying "anyone seeing Jesus makes evidence for Jesus," but not applying these rules to everything else.

@doobersmanster addendum to the previous post.
"They all were kill, tortured or both. What for a lie?"
If you ask a small child, who still believes in Santa, if Santa is real. It will say yes. That doesnot lend any credence to his (non-)existence though.
thedutchman01 6 months ago
@thedutchman01 William Craig addresses that very question on a video..Titled is God like santa clause ..or something. Anyhow the evidence against Santa being real is conclusive, the evidence for the historical life of Jesus of Nazereth is overwhelming. That is the difference. Evidence. The apostles,as opposed to a child, Held Jesus Talked to him, ate with him..you get the picture. You are missing my point on the Illiad thing.
doobersmanster 6 months ago
@doobersmanster

@k0rps3gynd3r If anyone said these things about pre Civil War slavery in the USA, it would certainly be taken as approval of it.

DTiberius 1 year ago 3
@LuxAuterna ...""No I don't have to study it [the bible]!" Well done! Glad to see the honesty in the extent of your work or should I say lack of work. There is a context"
And you clearly fail to see the context to why Matt said that. What he meant is that the context of those passages are very clear, and nobody has to study it to understand how disgustingly immoral it is. And if you deny it means what it says, you're simply a liar. Why didn't god say, "Don't beat your slaves with a rod,"?
DTiberius 1 year ago
@LuxAuterna slavery, child molestation and murder are always wrong, no matter what "the Jeebus voices" in your head say, you sociopathic pedophile

yeudh 10 months ago
in the callers defense the bible does protect slaves human rights to not be killed or direly injured, it sorta takes the stance of you can have slaves, you can beat them they are your property, but rember they are still human still it supports slavery and is thus immoral
lonewolfM16 1 year ago

Freaking christians are more evil than I thought.

These guys absolutely pwn any theist caller!
mestrini 1 year ago 66
@mestrini Thats just what I was thinking. They know the callers Religion better than the caller. They've heard all the arguments and they know how to counter them. Just using pure logic they point out all the flaws and make them look silly. I would not want to argue with them if I were a theist in fact if I would not want to argue with them now about something we do disagree on.
AlexThomson1000 1 year ago 2
@mestrini - Yes! Those cruel bastards doggedly insist upon getting at the TRUTH instead of listening endlessly to hemming and hawing apologists who offer one bit of faulty reasoning after another to defend an indefensible load of cosmic horse hockey! (rolls eyes) The theist can't respond because to do so honestly would mean to admit the contradictory crap they believe.

@mestrini yeah thats why i think that if they had been there when shock of god asked his question they would have awnsered easily
