@aurafox1 Not really. I don't see what people find so bad about Sonic Heroes. It had flaws, it was repetitive and there were annoying bits in it, but otherwise i found the gameplay fun. Even Unleashed was nice after I got used to the Werehog, and a lot of people agree that Colors was a fantastic success.
06 was rushed and messy in all sorts of ways, but the rest of the main series really isn't as bad as people make it out to be.
@LuckySmashSecondary I just don't like any of the games past Sonic Adventure 2. I don't like Sonic Heroes because it doesn't have so many amazing elements like SA2 did and it was pretty awkward to control. I admit Unleashed's daytime stages were pretty good, but the nighttime stages took away from it. I really didn't like Sonic Colors because I think the Color powers kinda took away from the fun of the game, and every stage in the zones felt the same, so it quickly got boring and repetitive.

It would've been fine if it had more variety instead of the same template in each stage. I don't play a Sonic game to constantly be stopped and forced to fight a wave of enemies. In Sonic Colors, Wisps only introduce more pointless gimmicks, and I don't play Sonic games to look for five hours for red rings
In response the video's description, the reason it was listed as just "Sonic & Knuckles" was 1. if you watch the small video they put in, Tails is nowhere to be seen and 2. you can do the Sky Sanctuary level by either playing just "Sonic & Knuckles" where it'll start you on Mushroom Hill or by playing as either Sonic, Tails, Sonic/Tails, or Knuckles through the levels of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 where upon finishing that, you'll start into the S&K levels, with this being Tail's only way to get there

@1990babyface well you get Super Sonic, of course, and you can always go back and complete missions to unlock songs and concept art and never before seen art for Sonic 1, 2, 3, and CD...um, you could enter all the secret codes in the Trophy Room and look at a lot of characters in HD from past Sonic games...so there is quite some stuff to go back and do...not to mention the secret, really secret paths in levels...getting red rings to unlock awesome moves...buying all skills...so yeah.

sonic 3 is sonic 3, sonic and knuckles is sonic and knuckles. not every game in the sonic series is featured in this game or the credits. music from the first sonic 3 stage is available and it isnt mentioned in the credits. the metal sonic stage and the music with it is from sonic CD. there is also no mention of sonic and secret rings, dark knight, chronicles, or rush (amongst others). they just didnt bother with it.
Sonic mentions Secret Rings through his line, "No stranger than rescuing genies in magic books or saving aliens in an intersteller amusement park" and Sonic 3&K is the complete Sonic 3, the game was split into a second part, Sonic and Knuckles, due to cartrige space...and the reason those games aren't in the credits is because they are non-canon...Sonic CD didn't get a level (besides a boss) for the same reason Shadow the Hedgehog didn't: 3 levels per era.

If sonic mentions the events of Secret Rings, then that must make them part of his whole story in some respect, meaning that its not juts canon games featured in the credits. Also, it would be more correct for them to call Sonic 3 & Knuckles either "Sonic 3 & Knuckles" or "Sonic 3", they wouldn't lose the number and then go back to it for Sonic 4. The fact is Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles isnt now just considered Sonic & Kunckles...

@Hademaster64tv Where did you get this information? The Hedgehog engine is only the graphics engine not the gameplay or physics, they use Havok for that. I doubt SEGA would give up a Sonic trademark for puzzle gameplay.

@BingBangPoe I'll be honest,I love the "classics" as much as anyone,but they have their flaws,the stories are almost never explained in game,controls can hinder fun,and glitches galore.And with Sonic CD, that game doesn't really feel like a Sonic game(play Sonic 1 then CD to see what I mean)and in some of the "classics" there are points where it isn't fun to play any more, And game breaking mechanics such as Super and Hyper Sonic,Tails,and Knuckles. In those cases, this game is way better.
The people who worked on this game truely must love the series. Great game! One of Sonics best yet. My first Sonic game was sonic 2, its friggen awesome.

I like to think that the games showed in the credits are showing classic sonic as he progresses and in the next sonic game I will like to pretend that we ARE the classic sonic from this game but in the future :) thumbs up if you do the same

@ShadowWolf767 1. That would take WAY too long...2. Only the games in the main series are featured...3. In each Sonic game, when there is a melody of the levels' music, they only have the levels of that game...4. There were only 9 levels in this game.

sonic 3 is sonic 3, sonic and knuckles is sonic and knuckles. not every game in the sonic series is featured in this game or the credits. music from the first sonic 3 stage is available and it isnt mentioned in the credits. the metal sonic stage and the music with it is from sonic CD. there is also no mention of sonic and secret rings, dark knight, chronicles, or rush (amongst others). they just didnt bother with it.

Sonic mentions Secret Rings through his line, "No stranger than rescuing genies in magic books or saving aliens in an intersteller amusement park" and Sonic 3&K is the complete Sonic 3, the game was split into a second part, Sonic and Knuckles, due to cartrige space...and the reason those games aren't in the credits is because they are non-canon...Sonic CD didn't get a level (besides a boss) for the same reason Shadow the Hedgehog didn't: 3 levels per era.

If sonic mentions the events of Secret Rings, then that must make them part of his whole story in some respect, meaning that its not juts canon games featured in the credits. Also, it would be more correct for them to call Sonic 3 & Knuckles either "Sonic 3 & Knuckles" or "Sonic 3", they wouldn't lose the number and then go back to it for Sonic 4. The fact is Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles isnt now just considered Sonic & Kunckles...

@Hademaster64tv Sonic CD is indeed canon. Considering it is the prequel to Sonic 4 which is canon as well. If CD was not canon, then Metal Sonic's appearance in Heroes would have been very out of the blue.

@Hademaster64tv Where did you get this information? The Hedgehog engine is only the graphics engine not the gameplay or physics, they use Havok for that. I doubt SEGA would give up a Sonic trademark for puzzle gameplay.

Anyway, this game IS good, but not as good as the classics. But nice try SEGA, keep this in mind for the next games. =D

@BingBangPoe I'll be honest,I love the "classics" as much as anyone,but they have their flaws,the stories are almost never explained in game,controls can hinder fun,and glitches galore.And with Sonic CD, that game doesn't really feel like a Sonic game(play Sonic 1 then CD to see what I mean)and in some of the "classics" there are points where it isn't fun to play any more, And game breaking mechanics such as Super and Hyper Sonic,Tails,and Knuckles. In those cases, this game is way better.
