It don't matter if it gets song of the year or not as long as some of these assholes in this world stop and quit carin about what goddamn suit they got on and start spendin some time with their families. You work so hard in your life for everything.....you can't take it with you when you're dead, so who gives a fuck at least you can leave an impression on your kids and learn from your parents(if you have them).
Just makes you realize that there are so many tougher things that could happen to you, so all the pointless drama doesn't matter, just enjoy the good times and let go of the gossip, anything can happen so enjoy life while you can!
Now, this SHOULD get song of the year. Excellent write. And it even has a country pitch to it and not that pop crap that country has suddenly converted to. But a Taylor Swift song with absolutely no meaning and no time put into writing the song will probably get it instead. Murder on Music Row to say the least.
are you talking to me because if you are than what is wrong with you i like country songs first of all and i was saying this is a touching emotional song just because i didnt come up and say that in the firs place doesent mean i dont like this song this and any other songs like it are great songs if you interpreted my previous message as something othere than what i thought i said than tell me but dont assume im saying that i dont like a song or something like that
i lost my daddy when i was young to but he didnt die he just faded from my life but now he wants tobe in my life well now i barely want anything to do with him..
I am a 13 year old girl and all my grandparents were dead before i was three. last year my 23 old amazing brother died. A lot of my closes friends know what it is like to have to grow up fast because stuff like this really does happen. There are people out there whos lifes are like this so this song is really sad and you should be hankful if you don't know what it is like to lose someone close o you.
So im not trying to sound like everyone elses comments, but i know where all of you are coming from. My grandfather passed about a month ago and ive never heard a song that can make me feel like that. I dont think ive ever been so close to shedding a tear from just a song. Keep em coming Craig and thank ya. And everyone else keep your heads up!
Im not trying to sound like everyone else, but my grandfather just passed about a month ago. i dont know if ive been so close to sheddin a tear from just a song. Keep em coming Craig! thank ya
I think this is perhaps the greatest lesson i have ever learned. My grandfather had the same thoughts on life. No matter what i broke, he never cared about anything other than me being okay, and always said "it can always be replaced, you can't"
I also held my great grandfathers had when he passed away this past summer in his home which was his farm he enjoyed for years he was tough as nails and finaly after 95 years his kidneys started to fail and his heart became weak after that so RIP Grandpa

Seriously? Don't get me wrong, Craig Morgan's got some great songs, and there's nothing wrong with a well done tug on the heartstrings. But this is so over the top, it's hilarious.
I assure you, I've learned what life is all about, and what really matters. Drippy, narmy country songs really don't. Try some Patsy Cline, George Strait, Willy Nelson and remember that sometimes less is more.
look you bonehead, just because u dont like drippy, narmy country songs doesnt mean people dont know what life is about, its the story, and meaning behind music. i assure you derrr buddy. music makes people feel a certian way, which are called emotions, and what has emotions...liffeeee and reasssonnn. ur ignorant.
This is so true...I've had 3 of my bst friends pass away in the past 3 years and now my aunt is getting sick...really really sick. I'm still a teenager but I could care less about stuff like cars and I try to spend lots of time with my family cause you never know how much time you got left. =(
i've met craig morgan he's a really cool guy and i love listening to hs nusic it's awsome he plays the most truest music all i have to say is Good Job Mr.Craig Morgan Keep it up!
This song really hits home for me. Because i recently lost my husband of 20 years. And we have two children our daughter is 18 but, our son is 8. And he listens to this song all the time. He says this is his song. So thank you so much for this song.
this is a very good song im only 23 but i just my best of 16 years to a meth addicting i watched him fade away from me in the hospital. thanks for the song craig keep em coming.
This has to be the best and most truthful song I have ever heard. I know cuz I have been there. I lost my best friend and spouse (both of many years), die 5 weeks apart, plus other issues.
On the lighter side...Way To Go Craig!!! I love how much of yourself and feeling you put into it...very strong vocals!!!!
He done a concert in one of my family members living room that she won on the radio,,, unforgettable. hes amazing live, eses 10 ft away from youpecially when h
I Agree With All Of You On This. I Listen To Rap, But I Mean, That Not Real Music. This Is The Kind That Touches Your Heart, Makes You Actually Feel Something! I Grew Up On Country, I Will Be Listening To Country Till I Die. It Touches You In A Way No Other Music Can.
Your right about that bencher617. people forget the whole meaning of country music when they listen to sluts like miley cyrus. and gay boys like jonas brothers. But you still got your artists out there like craig morgan thank god.
Just a bad song. Took it way over the top. His dad, baby brother, best friend, and wife all die. Really? O and he loses his left hand. Just ridiculous. Not to mention poor lyricism. " Waste away and die" and "With the hand that he still had" are both just horrible lines. Just an all around bad song
i loved it. i think that ist is his best song yet. i just got to see the video today, but i am impressed just by the song. it has a very good message in it, but then, so does all his other songs..keep up the good work, craig. we're with you all the way.
This song reminds me of my grandparents who grew up during a very hard time. They lost their house twice and my grandmother lost a child. On a valentines 12 years ago after giving my grandmother a douzen roses, my grandfather collapsed from a ruptured tumer and died in my grandmothers arms. She lives still today and lives life smiling with the glass is half full attitude. She is the first to tell you that something is not worth being upset about. We take too much for granted today.
i didnt even get to meet a set of my grandparents they died before i was born now all the pictures my mom has of her mom is the ones when she was a little kid and them pictures are already falling apart..
i heard this driving home from work this evening...and i cried all the way home...i have goose bumps now and i could cry again..my eyes are crazy watery...this man is just amazing...such a touching song.
My grandfather was like a father to me. I called him my Papa. He passed away 2 days after his and my grandmother's 48th wedding anniversay....... on my 25th b-day (4/16). I was the only one in the room with him, holding his hand when HIS HEART OF GOLD STOPPED PUMPIN'. I first heard this song three days before he died, and it will forever be my Papa's song, at least to me. They didn't quite make it to 50 years, but dang close! I LOVE YOU PAPA!!!!

He said I lost my daddy, when I was eight years old,
That cave-in at the Kincaid mine left a big old hole,
And I lost my baby brother, my best friend and my left hand
In a no win situation in a place called Vietnam
And last year I watched my loving wife, of fifty years waste away and die
And I held her hand til her heart of gold stopped pumping,
So this ain't nothin'
