I met Wheezywaiter while he was on tour with DPC, within the same month that I met you and STWPT and you failed to sign my poster. That was also when other Andrew pulled me on stage to play Crunk Juice on the guitar (for some reason I seemed to be the only person in Portland who knew how to play guitar that day). Which I proceeded to play, besides not having played guitar in three months. So yeah, that was a good month.
I once met Max Von Sydow on a movie set and he and I shook hands. He was wearing a hand brace. As we shook hands I tried the best I could to not whimper in pain. Why? His brace was pinching my hand really hard. I didn't get to talk too him all that much after that. Awkward.
I know exactly how you feel. You know that youtube meet-and-greet thing at Dundas Square last Saturday (March 5)? Yeah- I went there with a friend, but I actually didn't talk to anyone because it was just too.....awkward. I guess it was because it was much more casual than we had expected. We actually stood around for hours contemplating on whether to go up to you guys or not.... and we never did. <----Fail.
@gunnarolla I'm sorry to make you sad. :( I'll try to talk to you guys next time....if there is a next time. I'll wear a yellow scarf. You won't be able to miss me. haha
haha aww :) you remind me of my friend Min-Soo who came to the states for a while and then went back to Canada and I miss him :( i've never met any youtube celebrities :( but i love ijustine and shaycarl but unfortunately i live too far from them or anyone else to ever run into anyone.
i was at a mall one time in southern california and my cousin wanted to get some makeup at sephora. while we were there i saw this guy who looked so much like david choi but i thought he was too short to be david so i just walked away. later i talked to him on facebook and it turned out it was him and he saw me. i felt super awkward.
You've never been to Vancouver?!?!?! You should totally come!! Let me and your other fans know and we'll let you know all the cool places to see and things to do.
I know this is two months late... but I just wanted to say that if I ever a.) go to Canada and b.) see you, I will definately come say hi. =) As to lalauralalala's comment... I agree. You definatelly need some more pictures with caucasians! =)
I met 'ndtitanlady' at a club that I go to. Haha, I was totally drunk and she was totally sober.. She was totally having fun for her first time at a gay club. LOL! She was surprised that I noticed her. Goes to show people do watch!
Only internet celebs that I met are Wong-Fu @ Berkeley and UrbanGermany during his Bay Area visit. If I visit Canada, someday, I hope to run into you and the other Canadian based Youtubers. ☺
Last week my roommate was serving at a restaurant where Tay Zonday stopped in for lunch After figuring out how he recognized Tay Zonday, he walked up to him and said, "can you do it?" and Tay Zonday expressionlessly exclaimed "chocolate rain" and then resumed eating.
I met "Jason" and "Kimberly" from the original power rangers when I was a kid cuz i'm awesome like that. BruceBruce ate at the outback I worked at (but I never heard of him till after the fact) and I made Phil Stacey a smoothie at the Panera I work at
I'm from California where a majority of the YouTube celebrities are from...but I'm from San Francisco, and most of them are from SoCal. :(
At the moment I go to school in Boston and the only "YouTube celebrity" is a girl at my school who is FANTASTIC at singing. I met Wong Fu once...and that's it.
If I ever saw you on the street I would stare at you awkwardly. Woot. Awkwardness. But seriously, you're awesome. :( I wish I could meet you.
The most famous person I ever met was Laura Bush. Woot.
I met my now boyfriend on blogtv which stemmed off of a youtube video posted in response to Dustin and Ryan's Halloween Costume Party. And I met a whole bunch of awesome youtubers/blogtvers/skypers in person. I went to the Youtube Downloaded show in NYC and met KevJumba, HappySlip, Kina Grannis, David Choy and saw some more people. I waved awkwardly at MakeMeBad25 at a Friday's restaurant. yeah
@lalaurlalala you know what? I was just telling my friend about this! I've only taken pics with asians! not even on purpose! the two other people I mentioned in this video were white but I didn't take a pic! maybe you can be the first one :D
Maybe you should have one of those awkward youtube meet ups that people do. I would never approach you otherwise because I'd be too afraid that it was just one of those random asians you see everywhere.
I met Chris Leavins (cutewithchris) in LAX last year. It was super awkward. I was so nervous I was like, "Can I take a picture OF you?" and he was like, "How about we take one together?" and I was like, "Oh. Okay." Almost disappointed like. Heh, sigh.
I love how awkward you are in real life. I just--I dunno, I just find it really endearing.
Honestly, I'd have to say the second Youtube celebrity that I want to meet the most is currently the Dramatic Chipmunk. Alas, I fear it shall never be.
I met Liam (Littleradge) and I used to adore him, and it was so weird! I was with my best friend and we accidently said the same thing at the same time and I giggled non-stop and he looked really freaked out! Oops!

I have met a couple of celebrities but you wouldn't know them, for they are brazilian celebrities ¬¬
And this new video page layout is indeed rather weird....what happened to rating stars? Now I'm only able to like/dislike?? but what if I liked, let's say, 57% of the video?? I wouldn't neither like nor dislike~~
But I LOVED the statistics!! Quite funny to check out in which countries the videos are being watched the most!!!! I am watching this one in Brazil, hey!
Hmmmm..... I HAVE met author Jim Butcher, creator of "The Dresden Files". And Stand-up comedian ANT. And the actor who played Ben on "Queer as Folk". And now that I think of it, I met astronaut Storey Musgrave. But no-one from YouTube, alas!
Never met any youtube celebrities, but I've met a few musicians: Hayley Williams (Paramore), Justin and Chris (Anti-Flag), Classified, Dustin Kensrue(Thrice), Skratch Bastid, Senses Fail, and Chuck Palahniuk, who's the author of Fight Club.
I havnt met any youtube celebs yet... but I was recognised 3 times by ppl who saw me... always catches me off guard. It's cool, but I never really know what to say either.
I've met a whole bunch of youtubers. A few well known ones: sxephil, shaycarl, happyslip...
I also hang out with occasionally a bunch of youtubers who all live in the Toronto area with our mini 'Youtuboggan' gatherings. (ie. AndrewBravener, Nanalew, godfrizilla, airairariel, massaar6... etc etc)
I also fell into Landon Pigg while tripping over the stairs walking out of the Whip It premiere at TIFF... =\
Meetin Youtube stars in person is very awkward indeed. This past weekend I met Erika David, n Traphik aka TimothyDeLaGhetto. lol i hate meetin ppl jus to take a pic n leave so i try to make conversation.. but I'm extremely awkward. Words don't come out right and my questions sumtimes don't make sense. oh to add in, i embarrassed myself with awkward comments. i said to Erika David, I hope I don't smell like food I just ate, after takin a picture ! I also met Wes from WongFu. AWKARD TO DA MAX.
I met Zoe Zanidakis from Survivor 4 Marquesas. We sat together on a bus tour from Sydney Australia to Katoomba. This was in March 2001, before Survivor 4 aired, so I had no idea who she was at the time. When the tour split before we got to Katoomba (one group went horseback riding, the other to a wildlife sanctuary). The bus driver asked me where my wife went. Man...I wish mate, I wish.
omg i wanna meet just nzuko!!! but if you met me i swear our awkwardness will be filled with laughs. ive met so many youtubers, chescaleigh, applesandmustard, jclax10 (that was not funny awkward lol), and more much more but I can't remember right now. but you suck ur in Canada. come to NY!! lol perform Canadian Please in NY lol
BAHAHAHAHAH Fiona told me about the Eaton's thing at David Choi's thing. And that was where I met Fiona, Vo, Phil, Peter and David + another YTer + another YTer (musicians?). It was really cool.
I like vlogs! Hurray daily vlogs! (Btw, the cookies looked 1/2 eaten/full in diff cuts :P)
@tdcmoncton Oops. Hold on. That's a lie. I have met lots of Famous people in the Jazz & Blues world (Watermelon Slim, Glamour Puss, Sherly Eickhardt, Morgan Davis...)
I met ninjadrops one time while waiting in line in front of a food truck. At first, I wasn't sure if it was really him [since it was nighttime], but it really was! It felt surreal that I was talking to him in person, and it didn't help that I felt super nervous as well! But it was cool and wasn't awkward at all ^____^ I actually found out in the end that we both go to the same school! How funky is that? haha
I met Daniel Samonas - well i got his autograph. i didnt know who he was untill i got home and looked him up. apperantly he was on wizards of waverly place haha. OH AND YOU HAVE 99 VIDEOS! im so excited to see what the next one will be like =D
you met justin nozuka, i met his brother george nozuka hahah : ) i want to met justin but everytime he has a show, I'm always busy :( hey hopefully i'll get to meet you one day :)
the only celebrities i've met were ones from philippines. oh, and i went to a korean concert that had famous celebrities.. i don't think that counts though, haha. but i know what you mean by awkward, it's my middle name.
I want to meet you, nver met internet celebs before. You should go to the Eaton Centre more often so we can bump into each other kk Gunnarolla? Ill make sure to make it SUPER SUPER awkward n WEIRD :) hehe
David and Nat (NATTY) yeah ;D Niagara Falls represent! haha. Meeting a youtube celebrity is definitely a highlight of your year :D ! Keeping being pwnage Gunnarolla ;D
I once met Aubrey Graham, better known as the rapper Drake two years ago at the Eaton Centre. I was so excited and nervous, my friends didn't know who he was but one of them had a camera. So I got the courage to say hi and we took a picture! Probably the only famous person I've ever met too.
I would totally come up to you and take a photo, that would be awesome 8D (It is almost as awesome when Youtubers reply my comments) Too bad you are no where near Toronto. Though I swear there are TONS of incidents where I've seen people that looked like you. (.__.) I've never a Youtube celebrity let alone a real one ):
i know EXACTLY what you mean about awkward interactions with people your own age. high school was a lonely time for me, but life is much better now that i'm in music school. speaking of which, which school did you go to?
i met justin bieber...after his rise to fame (but technically he started out as a youtube guy) that wasn't akward..i was just like freaking out..ands just laughing at me and my friends, saying that hes just a regular guy..but it was awesome :)
When I see YouTubers in the wild, I go into stealth mode... I want to watch them, but I don't want to be seen. Unfortunately it's difficult to leave a comment under somebody in real life though. :/
Oh my, talk about awkward. When I met Justin Nozuka for the second time I thought it MIGHT be better but it was as awkward as the first time... but I did get to take a better picture with him. Its floating in the internet somewhere xD
I think if I were to meet you it would be my awkwardness + your awkwardness = (in the words of Happyslip) DISASTER
Hey there, i know there are some awkward moments meeting ppl from youtube. But it would be pretty awesome If i ever met you in person someday! :) It's also great to hear that you're back here in Canada. I hope your adventures out there was sweet!.
Take care now.. looking forward to you next videoooo.... byyyyyeeeeeeeeee!
I've never met any YT ppl in person. It's interesting that you met Fiona, Phil, and Vo at a gig - I though you were already Canadian friends. :) I found your channel through Fiona's video. Have a great week!
In October, I met Phil and Wes from Wong Fu Productions in Niagara Falls. Phil Vo and Fiona were there too. They were super cool people. Ate Wendy's with them, chilled at the arcade, ate at Kelsey's and checked out the Falls at night. Got a dope instax photo with them, which they signed.
In February, I met David Choi after his concert in Toronto. He signed my iPod lol.
Don't feel bad about being akward Andrew, you're young and your human, it happens. I've never met people from Youtube, or any celebrity for that matter. But this got me thinking. When people meet you, do you prefer them to call you by your YT s/n or your actual name? IMO, I think it would be weird to address people IRL by an s/n, but maybe it's wierd to have people you've never met addressing you by name and acting like they know your life story. Hmm...
I watched your documentary about your Grandmother and I'm totally embarrassed too admit that I cried through it. It was really touching! I've never met anyone I follow on youtube, because no one lives near me. I'd probably be awkwardly embarrassed and just smile like an idiot the entire time.
I had the same experience at the eaton center, exept i was at the mac store and the guy left very quickly and there was no mother, so it wasn't anything like your experience :)
I think YouTube 'celebrities' are so popular because they're REAL people. It's not like you guys are characters or edited for a reality show; you are in control of how people view you, and that's what makes youtube so frackin' amazing. Keep on bein' entertaining!
Well, the guy from the toyota commercial had a lengthy conversation with someone just beside my driveway outside my bedroom window, but that's the closest I've ever come to meeting anyone famous :P
I don't know any of the "celebrities" you mentioned Andrew but welcome back to Canada/London, you missed all the good weather though. Someone thought I was the "Asian guy off of canada please" once, it was actually at Victoria park where you filmed that jingle video, I was so relieved when they finally asked me, cause being followed by someone for across the park is kinda creepy...
I once met David Hyde Pierce. It was actually really cool. I can't say I've ever met an internet celeb, I live in South Western Ontario and I think you're the only one around here.
The comments you put up are embarrassing. I feel you need an apology. I'm sorry people leave comments like that. You are very talented, a good grandson, and a pretty cool Canadian. Your only fault is you live in Ontario. BC is where its at!!
Continue to do what you're doing.....Ignore the boneheads and keep on, keepin' on.
im from quebec,so for me,popular youtuber are rare in my area lol
if i meet some others youtuber,im sure i will act normal, will just be happy to meet people, who can be funny of you think about it,i will be the one creating those awkward moments lol
gunnarolla, youre a great guy,and very talented with that, dont listen those bad comments, often those people are just jalous,or lack common sence/cultural knowledge, meaby a bit of the 2,with some need of atention ,added to that lol
Something I find kind of distressing is that there don't seem to be any non Asians coming up to you as well...:-(. wth...I find the same thing with Peter chao. Of course its not that its bad that you have Asian fans, but c'mon Canadians from other back grounds, show your love when you see him! I would ;).
I would love to see all these people who make racist comments have their skin colour changed over to a "chink's" skin colour, and then have them dropped off in an asian country. That would make my day.
The last celebrity I saw wasn't even a celebrity really. I went backstage at a Jersey Boys show and all i did was smile and walk right past them. After though I was saying "Oh My GODDD!!! DID YOU SEE THAT? THEY SMILED BACK! :D... I can't imagine what would happen if I saw u... although awkwardness is a guarantee
I met Vic Mignogna well coming out of my hotel room when in Toronto last year. He was staying in the same hotel. He's a voice actor and a very experienced and famous one in voice acting world. lol. He was super nice and friendly and talked with us and took pictures. It's people like him that give famous people a good name. And since your the type to stop and talk to a fan aswell your just like him in that way. Keep up the awkward meetings. ^___^
So yeah, that was a good month.

i met this guy,
/watch?v=M5hv-hdb4wg
in the halls of Palais Omnisports de Paris Bercy during the Juste Debout preselections. It's the world's biggest underground dance battle.
he didn't know how to respond to my enthusiasm. for me, it was like meeting a character out of your favorite childhood storybook.
anyway, we remained friends on youtube, and he inspires me to this day.
the end :)

Oh snap. Then, if we meet, the awkwardness will be so much, we both might implode. I'm awkward enough on my own as is.
Or maybe we'll cancel it out? Haha, either way, it would be fun to meet you anyway :)

Question of the day, then: do you think computing, the Internet and social networking have made people better or worse in social situations? Why?
I bet I can "out-awkward" you, any day of any year, and without even trying. I'm not saying that's a good thing.

I would totally come up to you and take a photo, that would be awesome 8D (It is almost as awesome when Youtubers reply my comments) Too bad you are no where near Toronto.

I think YouTube 'celebrities' are so popular because they're REAL people. It's not like you guys are characters or edited for a reality show; you are in control of how people view you, and that's what makes youtube so frackin' amazing. Keep on bein' entertaining!

I don't know any of the "celebrities" you mentioned Andrew but welcome back to Canada/London, you missed all the good weather though.
