amazing! really good job, i think Chopin wrote this song so that it would be played with accuracy instead of feeling(which is what you did). After all, it was written for the military of that time. Bravo!(:
I have to say that was very well played. I'm playing this piece for a recital next week and I've been looking for videos to see how other people have been playing it and all I've been finding are really fast, really messy interpretations. But I very much like yours and your dynamics were good and technically it was wonderful. :)
whoever is going to say shitty comments about this video is definately screwed up. quincy you played beautifully and ever since i heard you play this song im going to learn it now and im only 13. but i believe i have a good enough talent and i can become just as good as you at this song! great job and dont listen to those who are gonna give you shit! :)
It seems almost comical that you criticise other performances and then play like this. This must be one of the most mechanical and unsentimental performances I've heard on here (I don't really care for thumbs up or down, just had to let my objective thought be known). It would be good to know the author you're playing before attempting anything. If these are honours students nowadays then God help us.
I'm sorry you feel that way. If you have any specific suggestions I'd be happy to hear them. I respect you for your opinion as a musician. Which other performances did I criticise? I can't say I remember, but you seem to have taken something personally. I apologize if I offended you or someone you know, it was not what I meant to do. I only meant to share my opinion about whatever performance on which I commented.
It isn't a problem and I am not offended. You are very accurate technically but I felt that it didn't venture any further than its technical merits, as far as interpretration goes.
I think it was a response to criticising Igoshina's performance but perhaps I overreacted, due to the way you criticised (not very humbly)....I'm not in love and that performance isn't perfect (the missing measures are irrelevant) but saying 'not even I would do that' is taking it too far.
Ah, I see. First, I adore Igoshina. I idolize her. I was not criticizing her, but the way she was probably told to cut down the run time of the piece. You misinterpreted what I said. I meant that a professional like her wouldn't leave out parts of a piece out of her own free will and even an amateur like myself would know that. I'm sure the producer of that video session told her to shorten the piece for time constraints.
I got the music under my fingers in a little less than a month, but really getting the piece to where I wanted it in terms of interpretation and accuracy of notes and rhythm took another month or two after that.
Aww. I love this song. You play it wonderfully. I'm your biggest fan! ^___^ <33 This was the one song my piano teacher took AWAY from me because I couldn't do it. THAT was heart-breaking.
Wow dude, I'm like chilling with a friend and we where talking about our jazz bands and what not, so I was like ohhh man, lemme look up this one great kids thing see if he's on youtube, sure enough, your there, playin this one song that I have probably heard over and over again sr year lol. But i must say it was a pleasure to hear again.
Nice job. I love this piece....I wish I had bigger hands so I could actually play the darn thing--I can't manage those octaves...so, I guess I'm jealous.
This is one of those brief moments that I have complete faith in the coming generation. Ability/skills/timing/touch all come together. Bravo! for a job well done.
Chopin was a true master and you are a very good pianist. I'm not professional and I have noticed only one little mistake so far. ;-) But it is of no importance for me.
Admirable! I think it's going to be my new favorite piece next to Nocturne in Eb Major, op. 9 no. 2.
This is quite entertaining.

Calm down. Pick a tempo. Go with it a little better. And put some heart into it.

Well done, overall.

@mightyquincy109 I know where an arrangement of this is for left hand alone, if you were interested.
