@counkev nah I would really say so , the timing between the pre-tensioners and the airbag were well timed together. You could see the pre-tensioner fire right before the airbag

Yeh but the newer models have less power ,e.g ml320 w164 model has a 3000cc engine with less bhp and has more faults where as a ml320 w163 model has a 3200cc engine and more bhp.

@sc4rzpur3 erm....the new ML320 is a diesel. it has like a tiny bit of hp less, but makes huge amounts of torque. the fact is though, the power delivery is smooth so it in fact is faster than the ml320 w163. Anyway the w163 to get would be the ML430, if u can afford petrol then the 500

my parents have a 2001 ml 500 very fast and built to perfection in terms of safety but the and ride and suspension are just terrible. Also the seats in the front dont even hold you while your going round a corner. An the aircon is fucked up and so are the locks. Does anyone else agree with me???

i got the 2000 model, fantastic car, extremely reliable, (unless you cound the butt warmers) drives nice, good performance, (i did a rally type drive it it, didnt race but i did drive flatout, flys nice too) although the shocks are a bit weird

it might be super-safe, but that's no good if you're not involved into any accident...this model doens't even remember a mercedes when you think about maintenance.. it breaks more than an old chevy...seriously...

i thought it would break down before it hit the barrier, oh well. seriously, i had a 2000 ML430 before my Cayenne and the driveshaft was replaced as well as the brakes twice for complete failure.
