Well done on the vid, a gentle reflection of Fungie and his home in Dingle Harbour that has changed little since it was taken, unlike so much in in the world. Shame the music got blasted, you could do an 'audioswap' to replace it.
I saw Fungie last night and he said to say 'Hi' to you :-)
We thought about changing the audio to something more "acceptable" but it would mean resynicing the audio with the video and we aren't able to do that right now. Our soundtrack that was blasted was "Farewell to Tarwathie" by Judy Collins.
Aye, Fungie is a dear friend; thanks for sending along his greeting. :-) And a thanks to you for watching the video without the soundtrack!!
megamurphy that was a beautifull film thanks for sharing it . Im English but my Granmother lived at the dingle lighthouse with seven others! she moved to london during the war to become a nurse she would often tell me tales of dingle and i had the pleasure of visiting last year the lighthouse was the highlight sorry bad joke! of the holiday shame about the shops but you gotta make a living i suppose? thanks again murph
Wonderful video and music, thank you..going back to Dingle next week, and it's a wonderful taster of pleasures to come, DV. You did well to capture any shots of Fungie, he can be a most elusive fellow and a bit of a tease!
I was just expecting something different when I saw the title:more about Fungie -less shots for example about Tourists looking bored sitting in a boat heading to see him
but of course thats a very personal thing always.....
I liked the video the second time more when I watched it without (maybe wrong?!) expectations...
Hi. Thanks for replying. I see what you mean now. Perhaps, if we can ever find the time, we'll try to put something together that is a wee bit more about Fungie and less about the other things. Course - finding the time - there's the rub. Take care.
Aye, Fungie is a grand mammal and a friend to many. I've seen him on many an occasion myself. This video was an attempt to show off the harbour and Fungie's home to others around the globe who are unable to come here on holiday. I assure you, there was nothing negative in the video's intent, and I apologize if something about it made you feel ill at ease. Perhaps you will let me know why you refer to the video as "desperate"? Thanks.
Man i wish i can travel around the world like u guys... my family doesnt have enough money to go anywhere xept stay in the city of Long Beach :( great video by the way! :D
Thanks for the complement. As for "traveling around the world", I sort of live near where this video was shot. We don't have much money for traveling either. In fact, I hope to one day visit the city of Long Beach. I've heard the sunsets off the Pacific Ocean can be breathtaking.
Thank you! The song is "Farewell to Tarwathie" and is performed by Judy Collins. I believe she also wrote the lyrics and music as well. A wonderfully poignant song.
most excellent footage

Nice music but desperate video!
I often go out to see Fungie myself with my small boat. There is a lot more life left in "himself" I can assure you...
