what a buzz :) headless open office, swfconvert, imagemagick and a good OOpdf converter class. You really done good job guys :) you are da great inventors.
Box are LIARS. count how they do at least 2 clicks to get up sharing a link at the same time they say its just one click.
it's probably more like 7 clicks by the time you have selected and copied the text, then a few more to paste, a few more to email. I HATE it when companies lie about how many clicks things are just to say it's one click, it's so misleading to companies that actually do bother to enhance the user interface enough to make things actually one click.
@VirianFlux actually it's pretty much one click... once you select the file to upload on your end, you click upload on their site and bam! your done.
once the file is finished uploading, box emails all the people in that particular group or that need to know.
What is misleading is when someone who has never used the service bashes a company and called them liars. You should in fact try their one click service first, then you can whine off about how times they made you click.
@VirianFlux actually no i don't work for box. lol i just happen to be one of the many people who enjoy their "one click" services.
I am a UI designer and technically speaking 0:35 only counts as one click.
and what does it matter, your judging this service with out ever using it. I personally like Box, and could care less if i do have to click more than once to use it.
I also don't mind waiting more than 2 minutes for a burger.
no it doesnt count as one click. nothing stops you from being a BAD UI designer. if they wanted it to be one click they should build an open API for the most frequently used contacts, datamine from Gmail etc like Buzz does, and on roll over show frequent contacts, and make it so they get messaged in one click with the link.
I dont care about burgers - are you trying to detract attention from the facts here?
Maybe you're feeling guilty about lying about one click things too.
@VirianFlux the burger comment was a jab at your lack of patience and your physical inability to click on things more than once. I could spoon feed it to you as well if you like?
Hmm 'datamine' the same functionality (mistake) from buzz that google is now regretting/apologizing for. you know because making your frequently mailed contacts available via API for thirdparties is always what people like.
Look I'm sorry if I offended you, it is just a youtube comment after all.
No, you are wrong. Google STILL USES contact frequency in Buzz.
What they were sorry about though, is HOW they used it, which is a totally separate matter.
You could spoon feed burger to me? Real mature Omcentire.
You know what's annoying is I'm trying to code on an awesome GTD task app not correct you on how some random company predictably lies with one click claims.
Go to 0:32 and you will see where they lie about one click. I'm not making this up they say 'one click' and it doesn't do what they say, it just gets you started.
Do you work for Box? Hope you aren't one of those SEO minions that guards their comment pages with crappy spin doctoring.
Does anyone have any idea what kind of document render software they use in their backend? I would not think that they have developed their own software to do that. Of course, if they have each native app installed they can do some kind of printing, like how you print to a PDF. With Oracle AutoVue they could probably do it.
@brakjoller I would say this is result of their join with Increo Solutions - company which does have such a good viewer (and actually that Box's one is very similar to it :)) - so I think they are just using Increo's internal viewer.
cool clip thanks for sharing ..
