@FighterGuDude3214 first of all Yes this Series IS called The Highlander but the "SUBTITLE" of the EPISODE is called "BAND OF BROTHERS"....ok every tv show that ever made a series has those. obviously you don't watch much tv or you'd know that. please just give thanks to the person that uploaded the series and be thankful you can watch good tv FOR FREE. thanks to NewDigitalVideo for the upload. @Doperwtje81 Yes, it was Waterloo. The makers of the show sadly can't control the weather during filming so they decided "what the heck, let's just do it". If it helps, the novel "Shadow of Obsession" also includes that scene and in the book the weather was described accurately.

Darius has always been one of my favourite characters in the show. Such a complex and brilliant idea and Werner Stocker plays him so well. His passing away remains a great tragedy. RIP.

DebJay34: I watched the first two seasons when ITV screened them late at night in the late 1990s and Band Of Brothers is where the series really found its way. Its just a tragedy that Werner Stocker died as he was a wonderful actor and very attractive too, however, its nice to see that he was still included in the series through clips and speeches during seasons 2 - 6.

I liked this episode. Grayson was a great enemy, and I liked the scene with Duncan's katas. Not to mention Darius.

This is one of the best episodes of the show. And the actor who plays Grayson is perfect.

But in a real fight Grayson and also Cronos would defeat Duncan.

I think the final fight would have been much better if the oh so powerful Grayson would've been stronger than Duncan instead of Duncan being weaker than normally...

but I also think that this episode is one of the turning points of the show where it became something more than just an attempt to recreate the movie an a weekly basis. Growing a beard as was rightly mentioned by Shuboy05.

Have to agree. This episode seems to be a huge improvement over the preceding ones. Camera work (steadicam?), more energetic acting, interesting location, etc. Was there a new director? Or was it a special episode fro some reason?

This is possibly the major episode where the show started coming together (what TV Tropes calls "Growing the Beard" after how Star Trek TNG improved when Cmdr. Riker grew out his beard). I believe this was because the producers gave up on emulating the original film (i.e. The Gathering was quietly dropped) and simply let the show establish its own identity.

To clarify, the first half of season one had the police investigating all the headless bodies that Duncan and others were leaving like the original film. However this was dropped and the Gathering plotline disappeared by season 2. At the same time the show got a new head writer, David Abramowitz, who wanted to explore the life histories of all the Immortals so more emphasis began to be placed on the flashbacks, which was one element of the original film that was emulated.

Also the writers began to really flesh out Duncan as a character to the point that while Connor is, in many ways, an anti-hero while Duncan became a noble hero with an honor code. And Darius was brought in to serve as the old mentor which is one element that never really got replaced once he was killed off (Joe and Methos do serve a bit of the mentor role in the later seasons but not to the extent as Darius).
