I read in an interview that this song was about a girlfriend with whom he had a lot of drug-related experiences. When he left her she attempted suicide, but not before writing 'My sweet prince, you are the one' on the mirror in lipstick as a farewell gesture. I'm unsure as to how true that is, but that's what I read a few years back.
