@Bittboy i know that , just saying why all makers of the game change mind in final ? Like with GTA San Andreas , beta was so cool and much original of now GTA San Andreas ( crouching , weapons , cars , peds , bigger map , clothes and etc. ) and other games . Too shame from them , too shame :/
I can almost guarantee you the yellow and black Buick didn't make it due to licensing issues. Almost every car maker wants to suck up all the money the producers make through royalties (hey, if our car's gonna get smashed, cough up the dough!)

@Bittboy i think that as well...because the yellow beta car in the game,didn't just look as a wannabe buick or an imitation of buick...that was 100 percent accurate 3d model of buick (100 percent accurate for the graphic of 1999)...a similiar car we could play when driver san francisco (looks awesome except shift) is the chevelle,in terms of car,and the challenger,if we talk about colours

That was a mod...since May 2010, we've had amazing texture mods, and sometime later in 2010, we had model mods, or in other words, vehicle mods. If you go to DriverMadness(.net) you can find many different mods and it'll show you how to get started! I'm Dr. Doom over there.

I've already gotten in contact with one of the developers, and he said there's nothing they can do about mods because they, obviously, do not condone the use of mods. I've already tried, it's going to be a lost effort.

It's funny, you can actually see the development steps. First it was the regular yellow/black GSX from the early released beta video, at some point the body was slightly modified and the new lights appeared and finally the color was changed to the final dark grey of the PSX version. The PC version however ended up having a completely different Miami car, except for the color.
At one point, the PC Skylark had the same textures as the PS1 skylark, but the PC Skylark strayed away from the PS1 Skylark and, in my opinion, the PC version is actually an outdated version of the PS1 version of the game...make sense? It's interesting to know they were both up to date at one point.
@Bittboy Yeah, I don't like the PC version very much for that reason. The traffic cars are mostly different, some cars were changed or were moved to a different city and stuff llike that. I'd like to have the final PSX version but with the GSX instead and also the beta cop cars (lower, bigger and dirtier looking ones that you can still recognize in the low-detail models of the final release).
Have you been to Driver Madness before? Visit Driver Madness (.net) and sign up there if you haven't already. We have texture and model modifications I think you might like.

@AmanamanIII - You mean the very first demo, that was not playable. I always wanted to drive that car but it was simply not included in the final game. I guess it became the black one with replaced textures (there are some screenshots where the tail is already changed to the final look but the car is still yellow).
I think, I might still have that demo somewhere, although I remember looking for it years ago before but I'm not sure about whether I found it or not. I will definately search again.
@AmanamanIII - I know, I just couldn't embrace it because my little brother broke CD1 of my Driver 2 copy very soon after finishing the story, haha. They also chose the style of the new main vehicle for Driver 5 due to the fact, that so many people loved this video and asked about it not being included in the final release. It's not going to be a GSX though, it will be "just" a Dodge Challenger. I'm actually really excited, because they got rid of the on-foot parts.
@schlafanzyk I was so happy when i heard they're going to take the on-foot action parts away, they're just made for GTA. Can't wait for Film Director. ;)
There's really no need to, the video is already on YouTube - just look for REPOMAN24722, he has a video called "Driver Beta Demo" which is where I got the demo from and thus recorded the music.

That was a mod...since May 2010, we've had amazing texture mods, and sometime later in 2010, we had model mods, or in other words, vehicle mods. If you go to DriverMadness(.net) you can find many different mods and it'll show you how to get started! I'm Dr. Doom over there.
