  • I really enjoyed your lively rendition of this very difficult song. I think you got better as you got into your stride. Have you you listened to the performances of this piece by Kathleen Ferrier & Isobel Baillie?

  • she is much better than charlotte church....her runs and control is very good....the words very good...keep up the good work....

  • You have amazing voice! give me inspiration that i may possibly be able to sing this song for vocal jury's in a few week :) keep with your dreams and never give up your voice is extremely strong and very mature! you are a great singer!

  • Gosh! this IS a difficult arrangement! well done you - lovely support and clarity.

  • Wow! I won't say you'll be the next Charlotte Church because in fact your technique is better than hers - your tone is clear and forward, not breathy, and your runs beautifully controlled. And I love that you're singing really appropriate repertoire for a young voice like yours - early music works wonders for young voices, doesn't it? Gorgeous ornamentation too! And here's agreeing with brookeoliviab, both that the song is a bear and that you tamed said bear very nicely! :)

  • You did a great job on this song! My teacher refers to is as "a bear," enough said as to how challenging this song is. I'm learning it for my program in University and this vid helped alot. Thank you for posting it!!

  • This was an absolutely beautiful performance of this piece. Your diction is very clear, every word completely understandable. The only thing I would say to look at is something I myself, as a vocal major, must pay attention to is not making all of the notes in the melismas of equal value. By doing this it makes them easier to sing and some of the notes wont sound slightly pushed. But this only applies to some of your melissmas (mostly the longer passages) but again Brava!!

  • Thanks you for posting this . I really enjoyed it but then I am only an amateur.

  • Thank you very much for posting this. I am sure it lifts the spirits of all the listeners as it did mine. In my opinion art is communication between the artist and the the listener or see'r or whatever. Its breath comes from the heart as well as the diaphragm. You have great art and I hope that you keep on enjoying singing and smiling as much as you do in this song.

  • @johnkenilworth What a lovely comment, thank you so much. If I can achieve nothing else in my music, I aim to do exactly this - bring joy & communication of the text to the listener, so it makes me so thrilled for someone to say this - thank you!

  • Oh wow I'm performing this as a private lesson song in this same version and I'm only in 10th grade. It seems very difficult but also fun and enjoyable =)

  • A very enjoyable performance of a difficult song. You really seemed to enjoy performing the piece!

  • Oh My God!!! Here's the next Charlotte Church!! You go and pursue your dreams!! You'll be an unforgettable star!

  • @Marmalade000000 Thank you - you are so kind :)

  • your voice is going to be so beautiful once it matures. That is not a easy piece to sing and you did very well. I'm singing the same piece myself.

    well done :)

  • What a beautiful youth, ah if I could start life over.

  • You sang it really well. One think I'd liek to point out, Never breat in the middle of a word/run. But other than that it was great. I loved this arrangement. Do you happen to have a copy of the scor of this you could send me? I'm really looking to work on my runs.

  • As a young singer, you're very good, I like it!

  • Impressive! I really like the subtle rhythm change starting at ~1:00 as ornamentation

You will be a force to be reckoned with as your voice matures!

  • you get a bit tired in the end of the song, nice job though - but the arrangement of the words with the notes seems a bit odd to me

  • I just wanted to add that I love how happy you look while singing. It adds something to the song.

  • First of all your voice is excellent. I know how much work this wong takes to master and you have the runs down well.

I would try to flip the r in triumph a bit more. its a little heavy. Never breathe in the middle of a word. i caught you around :50 and 1:28 in the middle of the word sings. Most of your ornimination is fabulous. And I would try to focus a little more. You seem a bit everywhere and its distracting from the sound. But it was wonderful! Keep it up, this is fabulous!

  • your runs were wonderful. good job. keep practicing. you show promise!

  • This is again to challenging for your young voice, which makes it sound like you squeal. But I do really think you have a lot of talent, and you should start singing easier pieces to develop your technique. Good to start with are vocalises of Vaccai of concone, and some arie antiche.Maybe the aria L'ho perduta out Le Nozze de Figaro.

    Marjolein

  • Wow this is a really hard song, you did great!

    hope you won! haha

    Who teaches you?

  • you sang his really well. it is very difficult and you are good

  • Wow, I like this song! Twiddly :P Great performance Aimee!
