even the spaghetti has tone colour and texture..in your world...and the 2 inch brush can take anything you can throw at it-thats o.k.......accents in italiano or paint its o.k......whats that beside the 2 inch brush?.....bobs my uncle too great painter great 2 foot brush great stuff...I played this to my garden gnome and he came back to life thanks to that ole 2 in brush.......

Wow, you're like the Mr. Rogers of the painting world! Or I guess that was the real Bob Ross... but you're carrying on his spirit... how nice. My daughter paints pixies & angels & portraits & goddesses & Buddhist-type stuff. I eliminated... or never got a TV when she was little so she had to invent her own little imaginary world peopled w magical beings & such & just started spontaneously drawing & tracing things to begin with. Who is Mr. Rodgers? One of my kids loves lego and drawing and though prefers PS2, accepts when I call time and immediately tunes into his other loves

I haven't painted in a long while now. I could never get the waves painted right. Practice makes perfect. What was your trick into doing that? Using a fan brush is better right?

@1980awade Hi, yea practice and more practice is the secret for sure and again the waves seem to work best with the fan brush for the spillover and the blender brush for softening , though the 2 or 1 inch will do also; and the liner brush for all the dooters in the water and the tops of the distant waves; also the stubby brush (whats it called) for the eye of the wave!

@1980awade The best tool of all however is this, paint freely and fast with complete abandon, then scrape and wipe it all off (after taking a photo) and do it again; and again.

Bob used to use the same canvas maybe 100 times. This works and takes the focus away from creating a masterpiece and on to the fun of practice. I love seascapes, need to try to do one soon, will have to start from scratch as I have zero talent and forget everything!

@crimrose All you need to join Bob Ross' world is a few brushes, paints and canvas plus a DVD, some practice and the desire to paint. The only thing is that you will never want to leave!
