I don't believe the gov't should be directly propping up companies, but they can create clean energy by building mega structures as we did with the Hoover Dam (which have a finish date, beyond which the tech is owned by the state).

The updraft tower in comparison to the coal plant creates zero pollution and the fuel is 100% free. Solyndra produced a product; and thus the money that was spent is just gone. If you build a large machine that harnesses solar energy; the machine is still there after the money is spent.

Jobs creations starts with small business development not big companies. Obama knew this but he had to prove it to Americans first. Now he has a jobs package & health care reform which we desperately need. I like Ron Paul but have two issues with him. His answer for healthcare is more of the same wasteful spending we have endured for decades & he wants to send our jobs over seas because Americans cost too much as employees. I've been in health care for 13 years & it is about selling drugs.

To be fair, Solyndra may be just a rare exception among many of the government backed ventures, the majority of which I'm sure can still fare reasonable well. He said the hospital he worked at would cover the expenses of needy patients through the Church or private donations. But this generosity was at a time when Medical services and hospitals were not over regulated and interfered by the federal Government. And when insurance and medicine existed in a free market without Government intrusion.

I don't agree with Dr. Paul on every issue, including the future of green jobs, but I would still vote for him because I trust him not to waffle on the issues of war and welfare.
I don't believe the gov't should be directly propping up companies, but they can create clean energy by building mega structures as we did with the Hoover Dam (which have a finish date, beyond which the tech is owned by the state).

@SHEEPLEwhisperer There is a huge difference between solar panels and a 3,000ft updraft tower which can power tens of thousands of homes at the same cost of construction as a clean coal plant. The updraft tower in comparison to the coal plant creates zero pollution and the fuel is 100% free. Solyndra produced a product; and thus the money that was spent is just gone. If you build a large machine that harnesses solar energy; the machine is still there after the money is spent.

Obedience to the constitution is to be enforced on our elected officials. They could not take office without swearing to obey it. There is nothing symbolic about this. Obeying the constitution is a solemn responsibility. Those who took office found disregarding it should be inpeached immediately. Obedience to and upholding the constitution is how we know they are doing their jobs. It is and should be the condition of them keeping their jobs.
