  • that gretsch dwarfs brian in this

  • A brilliant combination. Pure nostalgia. Life couldn't get any better

Unfassbar.

    Keep on rockin'

  • Love it, love it, love it! You just can't beat Dave Edmonds &/or the Stray Cats when it comes to reprising old country songs. Those guys take it out way past great & turn it into sublime. The best!

  • Classic. Always loved Dave Edmunds. Went to High School with the *other guys*. The rest is history...

  • Man... Dave Edmunds has done a TON of cool stuff. None the least of which was pretty much introduce Albert Lee to the world!! He produced a lot of great acts too... including these guys!! Great post rockinkitten!! ~KK

  • Edmunds produced the Cats when they first got to England....

  • Whoops- wrong key to start...this song is the bomb. Brian was a bit off key, but Dave was the shizz...

  • The Stray Cats & Dave Edmonds are both brilliant. Brian Setzer is a legend.

  • Excellent!! love these guys

    1983 at Loreley?

  • love it!!!

  • I never realized that Dave Edmunds could pass for George Jones (who did the original version) younger brother ,cool version!

  • good stuff if your a hillbilly.

  • Do u like these guys otherwise?

  • @4444mrjones Guess I'll kick off my shoes and start sipping some white lightening then.

  • great George Jones song

  • Great song. Rockabilly at it's best.

  • Q jovenes estaban!! sobretodo Brian.

  • The best version belongs to the Satellites. I would love to see their version posted.

  • Jason and the Scorchers do a great version of it too. The video of them on here is horrible though. Dan Baird is playing with them on it.

  • yes, "tear it up" is outstanding too! :)

  • THere's another clip on here "Stray Cats - Tear it up with Dave Edmunds" that is a much better tune IMHO and suits them a lot better...... as an example of what I mean.

  • I dunno man, Stray Cats are excellent, Dave Edmunds is excellent but why are they performing a lame tune? Where's that flicknife rockabilly we love the Cats for? Or that dirty blues Edmunds is so good at?

    Good clip though.

  • It's not a lame song there just doesn't seem to be a decent video of it being played.

  • this stuff is awesome! :)

  • GREAT band, great song. When was this version recorded?

  • anyone got the brixton academy version of this from 10th sept 2008?

  • STRAY CATS.. LOS MÁS GRANDES!!!!!!

  • Zippy!

  • Aaah thankyou so much for posting! I have the recording, didn't know there was video to accompany it!

  • I saw Edmunds play a solo acoustic show about 3 yrs ago in Portland Oregon. Total hot dog guitar heaven! He played the hits plus songs by Merle Travis, Chet Atkins, etc. I've read that Edmunds doesn't like to play rock live anymore due to tinnitis. I'm honored to have seen him live 4 times. Pick on Dave!

  • Good ole Dave - wonder what hes up to now??

  • He's toured the UK with Joe Brown. I don't think he's done much here in the states since his outing with Ringo a few years ago.

    I LOVE Dave Edmunds.

  • Whaaat! you get Ringo, and we get Joe Brown - what a bum

    deal, oh well.

  • I dig that guy Joe Brown...he rocks and goes bluegrassy too. Then, the ukelele. Love Ringo too.

    OBAMA - BIDEN 2208

  • Actually, I was probably joking, coz I respect Joe Brown, he was a good friend of my idol, George Harrisonn and they shared a love of the ukelele. He done a lovely tribute to George at Georges farewell concert called " Il see you in my dreams" which bought a tear to my eye.

  • How does a Welshman sing so much like an American hillbilly - lots of practice, I guess. My uncle used to play with 'No-show' Jones around 1960 - said the bottle was hitting him pretty hard back then...

Love Edmunds stuff very a lot...

  • EXCELLENT!!!

  • Fuck Yeah!!

  • great performance,

    i luv this song x

  • the welsh master and his american protosege (spelling)
