  • I'm confused, I can't find any of his race footage yet he was worth 16 million..? I feel as if I'm missing something..Also, no horse is a "failure". Horses do things they wouldn't usually do in nature to please humans all the time, and when they don't live up to those human's expectations they get called a failure? How cruel is that?

  • He's soo pretty!!!!

  • This horse is a decendant of Secretariat...the greatest racehorse to ever live.

  • This horse is a failure. Never went on to win a show, and retired early. Who ever paid 16 million just threw it out the window. Hes now used as a stud for 5,000. The horse prooved the product of over hype and over rated.

  • He´s so beautiful, l would die to have a horse like that

  • Barns like that sadden me. So neat, and the stalls...don't even get me started on those.

  • I would have a mare bred to him just for conformation and movement alone. He's stunning.

  • Geesh! If had 16M$ I would buy sluaghter horses and start a rescue!!!

  • @dollymarie101 LOL I just posted that on my FB, I said not saying He is not a BEAUTIFUL horse, but imagine how many you could save with 16 million....YOWZA!

  • 16.000.000 $ for a 2 y.o. stallion? If I would have so much money for one horse, I would buy his Grandsire Storm Cat for the bred. Or another one of the top guns of his family. Secretariat or Northern Dancer for example. But I fear, that today the money would not be enough.*lol* Seriously: $19M for a two years old horse is just a joke, no matter where it comes from.

  • he's a beautiful horse too bad about him not winning any races though but i still think he's a stunning horse

  • @iloveanimals4eva well spoke

  • @umarmaxmas Thanks! It's not often a horse like this catches my eye but he is stunning even my partner thought that and he's not into horses at all. I wonder if they'll ever be another horse as stunning as he is

  • This horse look good though. It's just a matter of bad luck for the owner.

  • @TokusatsuFans coolmore has so much money and they won't care this 16M

  • This horse was bred at Padua and his mother was a very nice mare. 16 million was a comic joke between two rivalries.

  • what's sad is he won't be worth half the amount once he's retired from racing...

  • @SkiesOfPurple The Green Monkey was officially retired February 12, 2008 after failing to break his maiden in his three career starts. He never even won a race.

  • He doesn't have the knee definition that I like, back legs are unsteady (Even when he was on the selling block) and his hip is to slanted... would have gave around 100k for him. Would give him a shot at Dressage.

  • My thoroughbred eventer cost me 1000 dollars..... If I would have had 16 million dollars, I still would have bought the same horse. Just cuz you have money doesn't mean you should spend it. He's beautiful now but he'd be nicer if someone gelded him, did some parelli with him and took him on a trail ride. Maybe then he'd be happy, not just a hot stud who had to breed with ugly broodmares all day... just sayin.

  • Money better spent on 16,000 horses, then fill up races and collect the prize money...

  • The simple fact is this horse was in a bidding war with groups that have

oil money and therefore it was a matter of pride. Savvy investors look for

    bargains and do their homework!

  • DAM DATS TO MUCH MONEY I CAN BUY 1000 HORSES OR MORE WITH DAT MONEY

  • @mypurozacatecas oor you can get 16,000 horses, lol

  • I don't care how pretty a horse is or how well it does dressage or how fast it's supposed to be.... There is no animal on this planet worth paying 1 million for. Let alone 16.

  • @TheHorseLady1212 totilas is, and there are horses i would give everything in the world for, so im going to respectfully but strongly disagree with your statement. I hope you know who totilas is.

  • hes so pretty

16 million was way too much anyways

and for also being a stallion, stud is always good

they should also train him for english pleasure or something

i think hed be awesome at english pleasure

  • @onlypedro Your very welcome!

  • @onlypedro Yes! its the chance of having a winner. My horse only one 3 races out of 19 and hes worth 10,000 for is stud fee. But hes mom and dad are both breeders cup winners so thats why people wanna breed with my horse. See what I mean, Its kinda hard to explain.

  • Its all about blood lines not so much if the horse won

  • pffft 16 million dollar horse!!! i've seen better n way more expensive.

  • i mean way more less expensive.

  • I'm curious about the handler's foot action just after the horse came out of his stall.

I do some Hot Walking but wonder if any horse person out there can explain what was happening.

    Thanks

  • @bluegrasscannuk Hey, I worked in horse racing for years. Looks to me like a manners thing. Just before the man asked the horse to back up. Monkey did, all three legs but not that front nearest the walker. As far as horses are concerned, having a stiff shoulder to you is saying "Im standing in YOUR space and you arent going to move me." So the handler gently rubbed Monkey's coronet band, a soft band of skin that connects to the top of the hoof. It gently forces the horse to reverse that leg.

  • @Meredith1301

Yes - thanks for the info. I really had to look close a few times and now see exactly what was happening with the horse. He held fast that left front leg but not clear exactly where the walker touched him to force a move. The indoor shot is a little dark. Exactly where is the Coronet band? I wonder why he wanted him to reverse. Horse seemed ready to proceed.

I'm going to show this to my trainer and see if he has ever done this. I'm sure he has. Really interesting.

  • @Meredith1301 Gently rubbed is a polite way of putting it. He used deliberate force on a senstive area of the horse. If somebody stood on my fingernails I'd retreat too. Using pain to manipulate a horse is never a good thing.....

  • Respond to this video... Thus reminding the stallion the the man, not the horse is in charge :) Answer your question?

  • I don't like shooes.. o.O

    it's like wearing stilts..

  • raced 3 times an won 10,000 and stands at stud in FL for 5000

  • Has the green monkey been raced in any races so far?

  • If this horse sold for 16 mill. how much did it win throughout its career?

  • @Adrenaline552 green monkey didnt even get close to what a regular money runner did!!!! i bet his owners are mad!!!!!!!!

  • He probably would have been good at jumping, or dressage.....he looks like he would have made a sporty jumper :)

  • $16,000,000 - never did win anything.

  • @HorsesForeva95

Thats horendous to say! Fact-He suffered a spinal injury and hand to retire after HIS 3RD RACE. Most horses don't even start winning after their 4th or 5th race.He is a beautiful animal. It shouldn't matter if her won anything, because he has love to give.

  • @queenluciaa - Thats the best one I've heard today on YouTube, "he has Love to give" LOL - "real ""slow love"" ;-) Look if he was going to be "A Great" he would have won his second race like "Sea The Stars" did as a 2 y.o. then win six straight Group/Grade 1's as a 3 y.o. but then there is only one "Sea The Stars"

  • @sainglain

Sea The Stars peaked as a 3 yo., then never showed up again. Owners of Zarkava, and Sea The Stars new they weren't going to last against older and tougher competition. "Slow love?" Yeah that'd be funny if it made any sense Jackass.

  • @queenluciaa - Sea The Stars = World Champion of 2009 enough said

  • @sainglain

Maybe your right about that, but we need more careers that last. Like Zenyatta's or Lava ans. We got to cherish them for years. Sea The Stars lasted only 1 year.

  • I hope this guy is still worth that much to his owners because he's so beautiful

  • gosh, he really is such a stunning animal

  • @BananaAndPear indeed he is my good man.

  • So he went to a good home right? :)

  • Bridlelessgirl. Allright your right sorry about that

  • does this horse still have a chance if he matures???

  • why is this horse so expensive??

  • If this beauty horse was mine l'd never sell him. Because horses feel as real friends or mates of people when they sold him l guess The owner Wasn't That happy even when hè gets 16mill

  • @cranicJK what are you talking about? this is the racing indrustry not happy worldwhere everything is a "pet"

  • Comment removed

  • lost every race, horrible, awful racehorse, bet against him everytime he ran, heard the owners tried to sell him for a penny, no takers.

  • omg i want that barn

  • holy shit, thats what i call a barn. it looks better than my house for fucks sake.

  • @TheBrightLeader LoL.. no kidding. Too bad we're not worth 16 million! At the end of the day, this horse is kicking back enjoying a life we can only dream of. Hear that? He's laughing at us all arguing over his value..

  • Have any of u ever met this horse? rode him? No. then stop saying that he isnt worth that. Hes worth what he was payed for. Simple as that.

  • If he was not worth 16 million he wouldent have sold for 16 million. Stop saying he is not that good. Do you own a horse better than him?

  • wow.....16million for....that.....why??

  • loks like quarter horse ,maybe can be a good cross to quarter horses

  • Comment removed

  • He's pretty (:

But a person has to be insane to pay 16M for a horse!

  • This horse is NOT wqworth 16 million i know a horse that looks way better then him

  • @vivienleigh1097 looks isn't everything ! ! this horse has a heartscore of 147+. . . . he'll pass on 'X' factor.

  • @doubleagent14 yes but i wouldnt pay 16m for a horse he looks like a great rideing horse buit for 16m never!!

  • @vivienleigh1097 Attention stupid person..LOOKS are not waht people want in the racing indrustry. HELLOOO its about papers and speed. He has speed but doesnt know what to do with it and he is out of Unbridled and very famous race horse. So STFU!

  • @bridlelessgirl Actually he's by Forestry and "out of" Magical Masquerade, a mare BY Unbridled.. who was a famous racehorse and sire, you're correct there.

  • @wolfsmother14 lol thanks, but I didnt mean literally his son! lol

  • It amazes me they didn't race him, I would have made him a big time show jumper. He would be worth it in the end.

  • @BreyerLover2585

They DID race him, he sucked lol

  • @109367 Oh man, well that sucks XD

  • @BreyerLover2585 they did race him hes jus not not good
