@halogirl333 I've heard obeo's a great switch. You already have the small openening from the oboe reed, which should make starting bassoon easier than starting from a different instrument. The embochures are supposed to be pretty similar.

@MaxLuver36 that is actually something that most musicians try for. If you keep your hands close to the keys at all times, it is easier to get to the keys faster, and a side effect is some people can't tell your hands are moving, or at least enough. I play the oboe, and most oboe music is very fast, so I had to learn this very early on.

I say it's harder than the bass clarinet. The fingerings in the low and high registers get tricky, which is a factor and intonation and tuning can be difficult.

Believe it or not, I actually write all of this music myself. I simply listen to the music over and over again until I get it right. It's pretty easy for me to do, since I have a really good ear, but it still takes a little while to keep doing it for different pieces.
