You don't get credit as producer just for coming up with a melody and/or lyrics. You get credit as a songwriter. Maybe composer. But not producer. Production is something completely different. If she didn't mix it she didn't produce it.

To use the right chords with the melody and flesh out a song requires knowledge of music theory. Producers have that knowledge. Britney might. All she claims is melody and lyrics. So - producers get credit & $ for producing and co-writing.

A lot of folks can come up with a melody. You say "but she's playing the chords!" - simple song and if you try you can learn it. If you have someone teach you step by step you will learn it. How do you know the producer didn't teach her?
