@ChumpJoe well you can only play 6 pads at once on the 404 and they are just two very different machines. different sound, different pads, different effects to some degree. and i just like both.
@MattyStevensonBishop the first knob controls how long of a portion you want to loop then the third knob loops the portion or turns it off. the middle knob changes the pitch/speed of the loop
I'm trying to decide between these two machines this week-end, what do you like about the sp 404 more than the sp-303, and what is your opini0n of the sp-303s efx?
this biggest plus with the 404 is it has way more space and you can do everything instantly
the 303 is older so it takes a few seconds to process some stuff like when you delete a sample
the biggest plus with the 303 is the pads are waaaaaaay more sensitive. I find it much easier tapping out beats on the 303 so i tend to use the 404 for mostly loops (also i think the 303 is cooler looking)
yes this is very hard decision for me, I like the looks of the 303 alot better too, it has a nice retro synth vibe. is there a big fx advantage with the 404 over the 303?
and also what do you mean by "way more space that you can do everything with"?

thanks man, from what I remember its just guitar with the beginning and end cut off and pitch effect applied but it's at least a year old so I'm not positive

Could you give a little hint on the settings of your 404 to get those tones, if have been searching but can't find it (i'm a beginner.. : P)

@Akpala15 i don't really remember, but it sounds like guitar chords with the beginning cut off so there is no attack and then pitched down
