The only thing that can stop a bad person with a gun is a good person with a gun. Police rarely ever stop a crime. They can only investigate the aftermath. The saying that "When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns" is 100% true. Look at Mexico and it's drug cartels. Earlier this week at the Wal Mart where I live at in Logan, West Virginia, they was a man named Jesus "Jesse" Canul who had just cashed his paycheck was followed out to his car and robbed. The man threatened to kill him if he didn't give him his wallet. So he gave it to him and the robber took 3 steps to get away and Jesse pulled out the pistol on his side and shot him in the back and he died. Now Jesse is being charged with murder. @arsenalfanforlife 'youth camp' is a bitmisleading, as it's a politically organized camp for ages 11 to 25. There were also plenty of adults there. I'm not necessarily advocating that the teenagers should have been armed, but some armed adults could have made a difference. Of course, punctual handling by Norwegian law enforcement would have been nice, too (Breivik himself called twice to surrender, but kept shooting until they arrived). I never said or implied 'armed to the teeth', either.

Earlier this week at the Wal Mart where I live at in Logan, West Virginia, they was a man named Jesus "Jesse" Canul who had just cashed his paycheck was followed out to his car and robbed. The man threatened to kill him if he didn't give him his wallet. So he gave it to him and the robber took 3 steps to get away and Jesse pulled out the pistol on his side and shot him in the back and he died. Now Jesse is being charged with murder. Please thumps up this so somebody can do something about it

@arsenalfanforlife 'youth camp' is a bitmisleading, as it's a politically organized camp for ages 11 to 25. There were also plenty of adults there. I'm not necessarily advocating that the teenagers should have been armed, but some armed adults could have made a difference. Of course, punctual handling by Norwegian law enforcement would have been nice, too (Breivik himself called twice to surrender, but kept shooting until they arrived). I never said or implied 'armed to the teeth', either.

Well, sorta, I would love to get rid of guns because honestly, guns do kill people, say what you want but they make society more dangerous. HOWEVER, a law that outlawed gins would make things FAR worse. People would still get guns, but they'd get them illegally. You'd have gun cartels instead of drug cartels.
Also, when the founding fathers wrote the 2nd amendment, the only weapons around were rifles that fired a shot per min. Its now legal to rent a soviet-era tank to just drive around.
