The "bumps", on the top part of the foot were refered to as "suf bumps or surfer's knots" which were calcium deposits from knee paddling on the surfboard. The continuing aggrevation while knee paddling caused there bumps to rise.... AND, also kept me out of the service because I couldn't wear combat boots. It was like carrying around a golfball on the top of your foot or both feet for some surfers for that time period.
@keyair123 ...they are forms of ganglene cysts caused by knees and feet being in constant contact with a hard surface. If you knee paddled a lot back in the day you had'em....that's how you could tell who spent the most time in the water. I still have "knee knots" although they have subsided with time if I knee paddle now they tend to be aggrevating....but then again I ain't as young as I used to be.

What are those bumps on that guy's foot?
keyair123 1 year ago
@keyair123 ....those are from knee paddling. Where your knees and feet constantly rubbed the deck.

Hahahahaha... Miki Dora's 'technique' is sensational. Bumps those guys off the wave without losing any momentum at all. :)

+10,000,000 points to Duke Kahanamoku for surfing with his dog. Awesome.

Thanks. I'm reading a bio of Micky Dora and wanted to see him surfing. Your video was a great way to learn to compare styles.
