I think my favorite thing about crackle polish is that as messy as you are putting it on, it still looks cool- it also hides any nicks or scratches in the underlayer

if you overlap these polishes they won't crack properly. DON'T OVERLAP and it'll work out fine. i agree with the linear bit tho. u can do stripes in diff directions jus don't overlap. Its quick, fun and easy.

i actually have these and all of them do work. i figured out that if you polish your nails and then put on a quickdry top coat before you apply the crackle polish it will come out better. i can send you pics of mine if you want.

When you use you own nails (like I do) they must be buffed and clean/dry before attempting to crackle your nails because skin oils will interfere with the process. Keep that in mind if you plan to paint your own nails (which I reccommend!! :))

do really thin coats to make it crackle more...don't do more than one coat/brush over the same area. basically paint your nail as if you wanted it to be almost sheer or streaky and the crackle and color will show up just fine

i have 2 say that i think O.P.I. is better because just applying it straight on w/ 1 coat already looks cool. it shatters much more than the china glaze polishes. this is my personal opinion.

I have the OPI Shatter nail Polish - I actually have it on over OPI "Need Sunglasses" at the moment - I found if after you have applied the shatter, if you blow on it, it dries faster, and cracks more.

I bought the OPI one, I really like it and even if I apply on thick it still cracks and not in a linear way. Dunno, someone I know had said she used a shattered one a while ago and it was horrible but has heard good things about OPI.

I have the crackle polish from Isadora and I found that if you do a second coat (even if wet) it crackles less, so that may be the reason why some polishes are not crackling right on you. You have to apply it at once and quickly and it crackles nicely

I did purple on top of white! I love it. I think the thicker coat you put on, the less it cracks. I noticed that if you over lap your crackle paint, it tends to not crack in that spot. I've been playing with these for a while since we got them in at work!!! Haha

To be honest.. I have the purple crackle from china glaze and it DOES work JUST as well as the others.. you just have to apply it CORRECTLY. The reason it isn't working for her is because she keeps overlaping coats which causes it to be thicker... thus the non crackling.. so dont be afraid to get the purple if you wanted to originally...

@goodeats11 i suggst you SHAKE up the nail polish a GOOD deal before you use it. because you want the ethanol alcohol to blend into the polish well. hence sometimes it doesnt work.

@goodeats11 sure! give it a try and let me know . reason is my mom was using it today and she completely didnt get ANY crackle.lol. clearly she ddidnt shake that thing up and her layers were so thick the ethanol couldnt all dry out as fast bcuz of the thickness. i usually take a whole minute shaking that thing up bcuz i want the ethanol is realli mix. and apply a super thin coat bcuz the crackle is alreadi a thick nail polish! GL!
