Thus, he is gay. Who cares? Everyone finds guys and girls attractive to varied degrees.
Sexuality is only a part of us, why does it have to overshadow a persons talent or achievement. Gosh, people are idle minded. Trying to relate in some way to the author.
Bret is luckier than Bukowski. He had better connections and thus able to breakthrough so easily. And then he became a fashion accessory like iPhone. Bret should have been prolific. Bukowski was so poor for all of his life. Yet, he wrote a lot.

Are you crazy? Don't even mention Ellis in the same breath as Bukowski...Bukowski is the real deal, Ellis is just a spoiled, faggot, rich kid. Over rated to boot.
I don't have headphones or speakers so I can't hear the audio, but I will say that for such an egotistical author, he looks really nervous speaking in public.
Well he is known for being pretty different from his characters. The fictional Bret in Lunar Park is most likely pretty different in personality as opposed to the real Bret. Not to mention he doesn't really like the characters as people that he writes from their perspective. He both loves and hates the lifestyle of the characters in his novels. From what I've heard, at book signings, he's pretty soft-spoken and kind.
i want to fuck this man, hes so goddamn intelligent and HOT

Maybe the "facts" you just gave(spoiled, faggot, rich kid) are taken as an advantage when talking about ellis' art

Agree. I am a fan of his books. But as a public speaker, he is one of the worst that I have ever seen. So monotonous! And so much diffidence.

he doesn't seem very egotistical to me. he just knows what he's good at

Good point! When I first noticed what section we were in, I found it pretty ironic as well.

I also love the fact that he's Bret Easton Ellis and he's doing a reading in the children's section of the store!
