Mainly because they try to show us the error of our ways in a comedic way, rather than support it like many of the brain-dead fuckers who are in control these days. It makes me kind of sad that Cobra will just be known as a Retsupurae meme to tons of people since the 80s cartoon was actually damn good for what it was. the content was goofy and campy as fuck and should not be approached with any amount of seriousness but the execution was genuinely great, by a famous director who knew how to deliver dumb fun in the most stylish way possible.

Cobra is by far one of the worst culprits of it even among space animes which are usually extremely pigeonheaded when it comes to women. Apart from that Cobra is a protagonist that always wins via Deus Ex Machina like in this video which kills any drama the show has, essentially making it a show for children. There's a limit to how much stupidity I'll tolerate in a cartoon.

Honestly, if I could, I would design a remake of Cobra, and turn it into a crazy action-platformer-run-and-gun-­beat-em-up with rpg elements.
