  • Omg I miss how they used to talk like this!

R.I.P those who lost their life's that day!

  • GOING...GOING...

  • This guy knows a lot about lift-offs.

  • Not trying to be funny but he sounds like the redneck guy from south park that told butters dad about the Indian burial site

  • thank you for sharing this

  • It was all George's fault. You can tell.

  • I still say it’s not funny, but 0:45, I think they were better than the CNN coverage. Personally, I watched Dan Rather on CBS when I got home from school.

  • NASA just released new footage of Apollo 13 flight recorder, and Jim Lovell actually said "Houston, we got trouble of some kind."

  • That's trouble somr time XD

  • that's not trouble.. they blew the fuck up.

  • @NY10909 realy un called for

  • you old bastard.

  • Erm, do you think they got trouble?

  • That old man did nothing to yoy assholes

  • That's trouble of some kind. That don't look right. Red neck

  • DUMB ASS

  • that's trouble xD

  • I am so glad George doesn't work at NASA

  • I djust wanted to pet da bunnywabbit George.

  • "Thats trouble of some kind George" If you only knew.....

  • "Oh look, there's two."

  • Godspeed to them all

  • The Pulitzer Prizes should make awards to people not classified as "journalists". This guy is as good as any jounalist out there. How do we know that? He caught this great spot news coverage.

  • I could post great video, but that would be so wrong to state.

Let me just say, well taped!

  • sweet old man

  • First Chemtrail video

  • Sounds like the guy just got done fuckin his thar sistir

  • this sweet man was clearly in shock, when in shock you dont know what your saying.bless him. a heartbreaking tragedy.

  • .............Its all Georges fault

  • "thats trouble of some kind george"!!! Hahahah.. Thats plainly obvious, corse it didnt look fuckin right....

  • Amazing footage

  • @1969captainron Are you saying that don't look right?

  • this is the first time ive watched video of this happening that wasnt news footage. its amazing how calm they all were, im pretty sure they all knew what happened but they still all kept their calm, even after they found out for sure what happened.

  • that was good video for an old camera, but still that was a sad day. i was 7 when that happened and i still remember, gives me goose bumps just seeing it again, i still think about them, same with the space capsule and columbia. thoughts and prayers as always.

  • Glad he kept calm, no good screaming and shouting, good work

  • that's trouble of some kind guys

  • Amazing video...thanks for posting.

  • Fantastic video, and bravo to the old gentleman for reminding us what manners and decorum are.

  • right after the explosion a giant nuke hurtles from the sky and lands wipes out everyone and every bit of land a tsunami of fire and mushroom cloud as big as the earth

    (old dude looks over)

old dude: eh that looks like trouble george

  • had to come back...THATS TROUBLE OF SOME KIND GEORGE ISNT IT?

  • thats trouble of some kind andy straight up donn knots

  • *looks in toilet* "That's trouble of some kind, George."

  • the lady @ 1:50 is oblivious to what just happened

  • fake

  • Was kneehigh to a grasshopper back then, and my innocent wittle heart was saddened by this event, dawned on me that man was existing on sub normal planet and prone to failure

  • hell yeah they got some troubles george

  • since when is george the expert on some kind of trouble?

  • Amazing to find this so many years later.

  • let me clarify this, you just witnessed 6 people be instantly killed

  • @dirtman119

Indeed. We can & should never forget that.

    1love

    X

  • PRESS 6..."NEITHER DID WE BIG FELLA"

  • The guy speaking on camera sounds like Lenny from Of Mice and Men.

  • sad

  • is that trouble of some kind?

  • Awesome and historical footage for sure of this very tragic event in American History. Very rare indeed. Thanks for posting this.

  • This happen on January 28, 1986

  • were does it come up george? haha

  • that there be trouble George

  • fcking clueless idiots

  • an amazing video and they caledl it before it happened, they said the trust appeared brighter than normal. Just normal people fascinated in lift offs seemed smarter than the Nasa experts really amazing video for history freaks like me.

  • @redbuckatl Actually when they say it was brighter than usual is right after it exploded. In video around 0:49 was the actual explosion the brightness was leading up to then.. The rest of the video is the boosters randomly shooting around and the gas/smoke expanding. Don't see how noticing an explosion makes them smarter than NASA....

  • wow

  • An amazing amatur video of history. Thanks for sharing...

  • it's amazing these great local people realized there was trouble before CNN did, or even NASA

  • Gee I wonder what there first clue was ???

  • @alexlancer11 lmao there fcking idiots

  • Thanks for posting. It is important to document the reaction to this tragedy, and I think your video does that, we were all shocked and confused, then horrified at what happened.

  • The astronauts didn't even feel it, they didn't even know it happened. One second they were launching, and then the next they were standing at heaven's doors :)

  • @xVenGeancecR well they truely went to the final frontier. if u think this is funny well u should feel srry for urself

  • @xVenGeancecR no they fallng the earth in a burning hell blaze XD))))

  • YEAH TROUBLE..............................

  • I saw this happen from the parking lot of the place I worked in West Palm Beach, and this is definitely authentic. It looked exactly like that, though smaller and further away.

  • @1969captainron Wow u Cant be Serious So what do you think The "With All Due Respect" Old Guy Threw this together with "Cinema 4D or After Effects ??" R U Taking Drugs of ANY Kind or What ????????

  • "That's trouble of somekind George."

  • "look, there's two" XD

    Sorry but it's just funny

    still dramatic footage

  • WOW!!!

  • Very chilling, all the more so from hearing the shock and confusion caused by it. It gives a different perspective to someone who was not alive at the time. Really numbing.

  • sad seeing this, it happened a long time ago now but god bless those poor astronauts...

  • For some reason, this reminds me of the characters in Fargo.

  • I find it disgraceful making fun of the elderly man filming this video. Good video of a serious tragedy. Still get cold chills thinking back. Hearing my teachers gasp in the cafeteria. Kids with the same confusion as the old man.

  • @farren76 I agree. We shouldn't make fun of this guy at all. If I had been videotaping this, I would be reacting the same way. Hard to believe it has been 25 years since that fateful day. Still remember it like it was yesterday.

  • @farren76 AHH FUCK YOU

  • that's trouble of some kind, lol

  • I watched the Space Shuttles take off time after time from Palm Beach County, Florida. But I missed the Challenger blow up, And I'm glad I was Workin in the woods off 441 and could not see it. Rest In Peace Challenger crew.

  • Which way did the shuttle go George

  • what what what what is that trouble they got trouble

  • that'll buff right out

  • haha gotta love old people

  • I hope no one takes this the wrong way, but it's just to have this as a personal video is amazing and the reaction is amazing as well. The explosion from this angle and its distance isn't shocking as the CNN view of it.

  • This was an excellent video perspective of the launch and explosion. Thanks to the videographer for taping this launch on that fateful morning.

As the videographer says at the end of thhe tape: "That's sort of a historical moment we got here on tape I guess."

  • Those people in their yard videotaping had the brains to cover their shrubs and bushes in the yard against the cold weather, but NASA was too stupid to think about protecting the Shuttle and Crew from the cold weather. Idiots.

  • dont be judgmental, it will come back at you and bite you....you probably weren't even alive when it happened....so rude

  • Sweet old guy. These days I'm not sure anybody could have taped it without lots of screaming and profanity, myself included.

  • "They got troubles" lol!, hate on me.

  • 25 YEARS A GOO, BOY! THE TIME PAST SO FAST!

  • Dumb rednecks.................

  • @jgatorful ---Get a life.

  • @jgatorful --- If you'd seen this video anywhere else, you might note that the man taking the video was an optometrist. I wouldn't walk around making assumptions about people based on their regional accent.

  • @Shaunbarcalow1 These rednecks did'nt know anything was wrong?

Hello....................it fuckin' blew up in front of them! Dumb asses.

  • @jgatorful - Fuck off.

  • this is a lot better than the nasa video,i want to know which retard from nasa said "this is absolutley a major malfunction"

  • Thanks for posting. This video shows that shock that most of us felt when we just couldn't believe our eyes.

  • the old people had something to do with it

  • At least a couple of the crew survived the initial disintegration of the craft, and likely perished when the cabin hit the ocean at roughly 207mph

  • @Milnuts75 that would depend on if the cabin was still pressurized or not

  • love it ! perfect redneck dialog !!!!...

(however don't take what I say too seriously : we've ours too !!!!!…)

  • it indeed was trouble

  • Americas fireworks are over the top.

  • yeah instant death is usually trouble of some kind!

  • it exploded... thats trouble...what...well i know it dinnt look right...

  • thats trouble George...all i got to say

  • Thanks for sharing this with us.

God Bless those that perished & all affected by this horrible tragedy.

    Truth~Peace~Love

  • Why are you people so uptight? who cares?

  • why do these red necks call it a shee...its a machine

  • @djirok referencing ships as feminine dates back to ancient times. I'll tell you what I tell my kids. Don't correct adults until you actually know something.

  • @mlynn1231 it doesnt matter if it was referenced before christ!!! it still doesnt make it right or a female!! having slavery wasnt right, calling a machine a she isnt right!!! monkey see monkey do!!! just cause others do it doesnt mean its right!!! what you should tell your kids is that they should stand up for what they believe in specially when idiots do it cause its been done for a long time even though its not right or correct!! silence acceptance is whats wrong in the world...so stfu

  • @djirok I seriously hope this is a joke....

  • @mlynn1231 you are the joke!!! how in the hell would you be ok with adding a gender term to a machine!!! you joke!!

  • @mlynn1231 parenting fail !!!

  • I still see the trees bare in the January winter the skies clear all around perfect, only not perfect enough.

  • Just because some live in the state of Florida doesn’t mean there all expects on the space program. The guy videoing it was just puzzled at what happened? And was right “that doesn’t look right”. I guess the video tape was passed to NASA so they can have another advantage angle of the accident. They shouldn’t have rushed that flight they should have checked double checked triple checked and checked again before launching STS-51Challenger.

  • right on knightowl, I agree. Many people on blogs always have something negative to say, without thinking. I assume their braindead & people always make an assumption after the fact. I would've loved to see their reaction while filming simultaneously & even if they did figure it out, why blame someone else for not knowing & being insulting?

  • 0:45 "dat der's braaater than usual..." Uh-oh.

  • they've got trouble

  • as if all off you out there have an immediate hypothesis compared to albert fucking einsteins theories...not everyone is a genius for fuxxx sakes..jees

  • KnightOwl2006 I totally agree with you: Why should one expect a scientific approach from ordinary people trying to make their day more interesting (and by so doing providing us with coverage of the disaster from an unseen angle)?

  • Notice the plants are covered up. It was really really cold that day.

  • with the CC on at 0:35 it says "I got after entering the jury's hearing to the world cup victory" good job

  • Back when the U.S.A. had a space program...

  • oh look there is 2 XD dumb ...

  • @freefrederikfree You know kiddie your comment is DUMB! You wasn’t even around when this happened! I was at work listening to the radio while this happened! And was puzzled and then horrified when I got home and saw the TV images on the news. You’re comment at taking the piss is DUMB beyond all the galaxies in the universe times infantry, times infinity.

SIGH fucking 17 year old kiddies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @EmpireLS56KW ??

I jut find the reaction on tht moment a bit late ...

  • @freefrederikfree Well I’m sure I might have said the same thing or maybe you would have if born a bit earlier in time. Maybe he hasn’t seen that many shuttle launches and didn’t know what to expect from it, until “that didn’t look right”. damn right it, it didn’t look right, the shuttle should have still been ascending upwards, not the SRB flying over the sky and the SRB still had plenty of fuel and would have been separated a few minutes later.

  • Some kind of trouble, I'll say. Freeze at 1:30 -- we can see even this early and this far way, the shuttle raining down in pieces.

  • Lol! Turn on the captions (CC) for this video! For "That's not as bad as it was," it says "With the advent of love." Ahh, gotta love Google's technology...

  • I have no idea what's happening. Did the rocket exploted?

  • Comment removed

  • That was a bad day. I was stationed at MacDill AFB and watched the launch from about 80 miles away. Our instructor told us something was wrong but I figured it was the SRB's separating. Then we heard over the radio what had happened.

It could have been avoided if NASA had listened to Morton Thiokol, but they had launch fever.

  • Oh my.... Those poor people.

  • thats eerie to watch

  • "wasn't no sound for the longest time. that doesn't look right George. Let's go have some peach pie."

  • Some real dumbass comments about this video on here. Such a tragic day.

  • I was a little kid standing in the back of kinder-care(a local day care chain) looking up at the sky at this very moment. I was closer then this shot.

The thing that stuck in my mind most was everyone in my church said it happened because they wanted to put a woman into space and God wouldn't allow it because women are impure. Good thing I've grown up to be a more rational then those that raised me. It's a shame people wanted to defame a brave woman because of their superstitious nonsense.

  • @GodKillerAtheist There have been other women in space before and after this. Svatlana Savitskaya, Valentina Tereshkova, Sally Ride, Judy Resnik, Anna Fisher.......... I cant beleive those church fanatics would say that.

  • @wt1209061 I doubt the misogynistic gossip of misinformed and very credulous religionists would Actually know that other women went on the space shuttle before this tragic accident. Maybe they wanted the children to believe that rubbish. I suppose they did succeed in thoroughly reinforcing it into my mind.

Another note. The Westboro baptist church has a sign that says "God Blew Up The Shuttle" but they believe it was because America didn't speak out against homosexuality

  • @GodKillerAtheist

"God wouldn't allow it because women are impure"

What kind of wierdo religion teaches that?

  • @plusplusplusplusp That would be Good old Misogynistic Christianity.

I'd name the specific sect, but I'd rather not to avoid someone else, possibly even yourself from stating a "No True Scotsman Fallacy".

If you don't know what that is try Google. =)

  • that's trouble, some kind, lol

  • is this Cleatus doing the commentary?

  • "thats trouble of some kind george" thats trouble of some kind "

  • Very interesting perspective. I've see pretty much every angle of this from NASA's cameras, but never from this kind of distance. You can clearly see from this view how much higher those SRB's flew after the explosion, and how the main debris also tracked upward initially after the breakup, something not readily apparent from official NASA footage.

  • rest in pieces

  • I only took 19 seconds before they had the tiniest idea that space shuttles are not suppose to explode...

  • wonder if the old folks had sex after watching this

  • lol

  • That's some nice videography considering it's a regular guy (80 something years old) capturing something bizarre like that. It's probably hard to believe what you're actually seeing, but he holds steady the entire time. Yeah, he followed the boosters, but that was naturally the main focus. He's not a dumb guy in the least. He's a citizen who, from 70 miles away, is leisurely videotaping a routine launch that turns into something different.

  • @jimtherat8 defiantly not 70 miles away, maybe 10,

  • @kcoikid

  • @kcoikid@kcoikid Where do you get 10 miles from? The footage is shot by a guy named Jack Moss; he's shooting from a place called Winter Haven, Florida, 80 miles from Cape Canaveral. I researched online and found an abundance of articles about it.

10 miles away is basically right on top of the launch and it would look much closer.

  • @jimtherat8 really?! I've lived on Merritt Island my whole life and that looks like about the same as what I see

  • @kcoikid Well, I'm not from FLA, so I won't doubt you. I'm just going by what I read. Either way, 10 or 70 miles, he still did a fine job shooting it.

  • "That's trouble George."

  • @invisiblebears no, he said "Thats trouble of some kind George" Then the lady goes like "I'll go listen" meaning she's going to a RADIO :)

  • @mounsteres LOL!

  • its not funny . but its a rare view and some great comentary But it sounds like there in tennessee

  • well how bout that ''george''

  • that didn't look right

  • That man sounded like Don Knotts.

  • WHAT?

  • yep, that 1986. This video should be in a museum.

  • That's trouble of some kind, George.

  • haha

  • @dthibds what the hells wrong with you

  • They died.

  • damn right a historical moment captured, and still so sad

  • amazing and still very sad
