  • ob la di is amazing at the end, mum showed it to me about a week ago, well done Scottsdale :)

  • Fun to come across this by accident, one week after hearing your fabulous Swan Song performance! Perfect timing for me, as I missed much of last year's webcast, and hadn't heard your championship performance before now. Thanks for posting (Can it be that you're continually improving? I think that's the case!) : )

  • @beatricedewarynton on the contrary, I'm a long time barbershopper. I'm just not impressed by this, it lacks the lock and ring that top male groups achieve.

  • Holy damn this is good. It's fun to hear a chorus do this song, especially in the Sweet Adeline's competition

  • Way to go Scottsdale!! Love Y'all!

  • Just as exciting as it was Contest Week!

  • outstandingly amazing! :-)

  • My God girls, where do you get all of that air from? Fantastic performance. Two thumbs up & big toes too !

  • hahaha I love Mrs. Lyford !! she's one of my favorite choir teachers!!!

  • Amazing! The director is my choir teacher! :)

  • It must be fun! I feel energized just watching!

  • love you ladies!!

    you make my day!!

  • Yes, it doesn't ring the same way as the men's voices, but it DOES ring, and quite well. And the video doesn't do it as good of justice as it does live. And this chorus SANG and made MUSIC...they didn't yell at the audience. ;-)

  • It just doesn't ring like the guys do, not even close.

  • I don't get it, they won, but nothing really rings....

  • @rarchnick...are you deaf? They ring the bejeeeezus out of everything. CLEARLY the winners of that contest.

  • @rarchnick your kidding right?! you gotta be deaf or something..

  • Unless you have the hearing of a dog and can pick up the overtones they might be making, you can't hear ring either. Its tinny and has a distinct lack of expanded sound. You simply can't compare this to a chorus such as westminster and say its even in the same ball park. I'm not saying that it isn't well put together and in tune and all that stuff. It just doesn't ring. And those outfits are just awful, but that's par for the course with sweet ads. Its almost required.

  • @rarchnick The overtones produced are between 12000 Hz and 16000 Hz, perfectly audible. I can hear em nice and easy. You just have to listen. Women's choruses also almost uniquely produce undertones, which are also really cool.

  • @rarchnick Obviously you know very little about barbershop music. Stick with Choral.

  • The chorus that wins in the Fall of 2010 becomes the 2011 champions. The typo is the final zero being left off 2010 (i.e., 201[0])

  • One correction in your description. You said in October of 2011, its only 2010. Sorry.

  • Awesome! Congratulations Scottsdale!

  • Carol Mayka is one of our favorite people. Congrats to Carol and all the voices of the INTERNATIONAL CHAMPS!!

  • Thanks stephaniepage! Worked like a charm!

  • Wonderful sound!! Congratulations and great job!!!

  • This video has been stretched, distorting the natural aspect ratio.

You can fix this easily by editing the video and adding this line to the tags:

    yt:stretch=4:3
