One time before we played the movie, I talked to the audience on a microphone and ask them to make their best dolphin sound. They did and I said, "Wow, you sound like dying dolphins," because they did sound like dying dolphins, lol.

The puppet work is so amazing, and the interaction of this character and the horse works so well. I love how they treat the horse like a real character.

Went to see this at the end of last year, and coundn't stop raving about it afterwards. The puppets are phenomenal, and the music is so subtle but magical. Was in tears through out. Watching this makes me well up again!

I was fortunate enough to go backstage, meet the cast and have a go with the puppets.

One of the best days of my life :)

Ive seen this and it was probably the worse case of crying ive ever had in theatre.

Really believable.

What i would say to the English goverment is that cutting funding to the arts will be the death of the national theatre, and independant productions.

There is no company in the world that would invest so much money and time in just one play.

The Bristol Old Vic was within a hairs width of being closed down, the amount of money it cost to refurbish the theatre.

Jeremy HUNT the culture secretery seems to let this just wash over. I understand there is a massive defecit, but i would say honestly its worth it.

We can afford to have it, because we can't afford not to have it.

With the first wave of cuts the tories cut the British Film Council, which was probably a good thing. this sounds contrary to my point, the organisation was very self serving. It will return with the BFI. The British film industry is worth too much, with Oscars now.

@Herdbound - The original book is War Horse by Michael Morpurgo. A film is currently under production by Steven Spielberg to be released December 2011

it really is beautiful, the author lives and wrote the book probably about 90 mins car journey away in the west of England.
