That boss is pretty tricky. And I didn't feel like starting over just cause I died. So I kept the hypercam rolling.

It's all in timing your landing. Jump on him and move slightly foward to land on the plaform next to him. Then repeat. He's actually quite easier than the Mushroom tier bosses.
