  • would anybody know what the statue in the beginning is supposed to be?

  • @entrapmentadored Maria and Jesus

  • le plus bel adagio du monde

  • "We, who mystically represent the Cherubim, And chant the thrice-holy hymn to the Life-giving Trinity, Let us set aside the cares of life That we may receive the King of all, Who comes invisibly escorted by the Divine Hosts."

  • I think this beats Verdi for the most terrifying Dies Irae. I love this piece.

  • I don't think so. Check Brittten's Dies irae in the War Requiem.

  • @alleespach Or the Dies Irae in Ligeti's Requiem. Still the references to the Warsaw Ghetto add a horrifying slant to this already distrubing text!

  • @lordeikrem

so, we like to get terrified... is it ?!

    ;)

  • @IlIlIlIlIIlI

    Oh, fuck yes. :)

  • @lordeikrem It's creepy, but I think Dvorak's is slightly more terrifying. Penderecki's is still scary, though.

  • genius in action

  • I love this piece! Penderecki is a very imposing conductor.
