  • 20 years later , you think it will be another 20 before you use it again Rich?LOL..it is funny listening to you get excited !!! your just happy you did not spend 42 bucks for nothing..hahaha thanks for the video Rich....cool" tool..

  • @CHIBA280CRV LOL....ya that's a good one i was ecstatic because i didn't waste 42 bucks.

  • wow!! many multiple uses for that tool and those darn rusted bolts/nuts. thumbs-up! thanks for posting Rich :)

  • Nice video but I don't think you are going to get that air hammer behind that bleeder valve when its on the car...

  • @000030stephen

it isn't an issue with a front brake caliper since it is easy to remove from the bracket. Rear cylinder might be an issue if the spring is in the way, but they are under 20 dollars to replace.

  • Thank you. Great tool!

A brand new Phoenix System 4001 Brake Free impact tool, a premium Ingersoll Rand air chisel, and a dribble of PB Blaster took a very frozen 20 year old VW Beatle brake bleeder off with little effort. And some would still give most of the credit to the squirt of PB Blaster.

    Ha, Ha! LOL!

  • @Uticagreens Ya i chuckled on that one.

  • Lol richpin getting excited. Its like the christmas nintendo 64 kid.

  • Nice tool and review!

  • i feel like it has more applications removing rusted under hood bolts as well

  • Works great on the bench!! good luck getting that in to the tight spaces of a rear suspension of a drum brake system as per your example.

  • It must be legit. I've never seen rich so excited!

  • I coulda used that.. ended up getting overambitious and snapping off the bleeder screw head. :(

  • @DrSaxxy Bend down that road before.

  • I'm still confused about how the tool is used. Why was an open-end wrench used and is this tool functional with a regular, manual ratchet?

  • @nightpwner I believe the tool is used to loosen the bleeder with the vibration of the air chisel and the the wrench is used to turn it to take it out.

good video as always, nice tool now I'll just need an air chisel and generator :)

  • is that tool made in usa?

  • @turbobuick33 It has no markings on it so i don't know.

  • Thank you very much Rich! You saved my ass lol. Also not trying to insult you but has anyone ever told you, you sound like Ray Romano?

  • @TechTipsForYou O ya hear that a few times.

  • Nice tool Rich. I ran into this problem before, I wish I had this at the time.

  • Couldn't you just use an impact wrench with pressure turned down to do the same or would that bust the bleeder off?

  • sweet!

  • Very cool, but I doubt this would be doable with the caliper still on the car, not enough clearance to get all that stuff in a typical wheelwell, depending on what direction the bleeder screw is pointing.

  • How much was it?

  • @bhstone1 at 0:18 he shows some text that says $42 from Summit

  • That's an awesome tool!

  • I can see some clearance issues with this tool

  • @INC5108

yeah can't see it working on the car

  • I've never heard Rich so excited before. I think I'm going to buy that tool. Thanks~

  • @toddpf Yea. I bet he creamed his overalls. Good job, Rich.

  • everytime I watch a video of rusted stuff i feel lucky to not live in a snow area.Good stuff great review

  • Need a video tour of your 'back forty'!!:)

  • Very nice ! Glad that you got your moneys worth. If not for the vibration the bleeder would have rounded off. What a great tool. Who ever thought of it was very smart....Great video !

  • nice tool

  • Good stuff, Rich. Do you think that would work for other bolts?

  • @mazzmari Yes i believe so and it is mentioned on the package.

  • in my country are impossible to get those tools,,DAMN!!!! other method??? heat it up!!!

  • Sometime if you get a chance could you make a video of how you make a spiral brake line if youve ever made them (spring shape) if not noworries. Im having trouble making these for older type cars

    Have a happy new year.

  • Cool!

I don't live in cold country, and rarely ever deal with rusted stuff... but I think I would pick up new bleeders before putting it back together for sure

Do you think access will be much of an issue for many cars? Looks like you might need to remove and find a way to hold some wheel cyls and calipers.

Did the tool come with a selection of different size sockets?

  • because of PB blaster!!

  • @playstation2bigs Ya what was i thinking buying a $42. tool when all it was was PB blaster.

  • I have never rich so happy, it's like christmas!

  • Nice tool. Harbor freight work gloves FTW!

  • Hey Rich. This looks like a nice tool to have and it seems simple enough to make yourself. Does the socket just hit the brake caliper or does it hit the bleeder itself?

  • @Arnthorg The socket i was using did not hit the bleeder.

  • i could have used that a couple of months ago .broke bleeder off, had to buy new caliper. next time ill use that. thanks for the great videos keep em coming

  • ah come on rich you stage that lol, just kidding looks good how much it cost.

  • @hp11208 $42.

  • Thats crazy! Good find there Rich.

  • Where did you get that tool? I think I might just buy one.

  • @justhes Summit Racing

  • @richpin06a Thanks.

  • how much was the brake free tool cost. it is worth it's price whatever it is. I would buy one myself. thanks for the info.

  • @jimbokelleybob Summit Racing $42.

  • nice
