alot of you r tardy to da game when it comes to the monte carlo.The SS stopped in 72'.In 73 the still had the 454 with bucket seats but it was the S model.They didnt bring back the SS till the mid 80's.FACT.Beside thAT I GOT a 73 monte 454 thats a beast.15' rims.too many potholes in Oakland

@daryndc The SS Monte Carlos ran from 1970-1971. In 1972 there was not a badged SS although by checking the "Sport" option, you got all the SS goodies, just not the SS monicker. The 454 option went away after the 1975 model year. Your second gen Monte sounds like it would be great. Stay with 15's and your suspension and wheel bearings will thank you! As far as I'm concerned, there was no Monte carlo after 1977!

I bought a new one in '76. It was an SS, snow white with maroon landau & maroon velvet. Within a month both door straps fell off. In two months the rear view mirror fell off into my lap. Within the first year the transmision had to be REPLACED. By the end of the second year, even though the car was garaged & washed and waxed weekly, it had rust on the fenders above the wheel wells. I gave it to my wife.

Ive had 2 75 monte landaus and 1 73 monte. 2 of them had the swivel bucket seats and all of them had the 350s. None look as nice as that one though.
