Well, I agree that people should not need to rely on the government, but still, during hard times no action on their part could lead to bloody social unrest, like what started Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan back in the 1930's. Can't risk that. Lesser of two evils.

This entire thing is just bizarre. I've seen far too many protesters who are convinced their unremarkable salaries are being taxed at huge rates. But nobody's rates are above 1990s levels, and are all well below Reagan levels. Compared to the entire 20th century, they are at an incredible low.

They were going smooth until Democrats forced lenders to make sub prime loans that failed in mass when oil prices went up. Republicans share in the blame for not sounding the alarm and going along with the stimulus packages and deficit spending.

Bush had an approval rating slightly higher than 60% April of 2001. The approval rating of a president is always higher during the first few months, but like Bush, Obama's approval rating is not as high as other presidents during this time.

They were busy reacting to whatever crisis the media pointed them at. Be it the braindead denied feeding tubes, gays marrying or immigrants working, they did their duty in the army of angry, sputtering loons.
You see, when we worried about Bush's unnecessary and unproductive $5 trillion debt, they were manning their stations, calling us libtards. After all, we weren't patriotic enough. But now there's an economic crisis, they can complain about the cost of recovery. It's there now to react to.

These parties may in fact began with good intentions (as many ideas do). However, this entire "movement" (using the term loosely) is funded by people with a lot of money (including Newt) and supported and endorsed by Fox. People are being manipulated by those most effected by the tax increase (those making OVER $250k a year). The people attending have been lied too and are manipulated by "the rich". These people exhibit the common sense of a lemming!

Since the Democrats took over the legislative and appriotations, government spending has skyrocketed. Yes Bush went right along with them and he was wrong for doing it. The people were against these bailouts and spending and our elected officials ignored them. That is what the first tea parties and these. Obama and the Dems will sneak in the tax raises by letting the Bush cuts expire and sneaking in fee increases and secret taxes in the back door.

people are mad because we were told that this was the worst economic disaster since the 1930's -and that was only a few weeks ago. Now, all of the sudden, things have already turned the corner and are improving? Hardly any of the stimulus money hasn't even been printed yet - how can that be? The majority of U.S. citizens were against the bailouts - yet D.C. passed them anyways. They claimed that you and I just didn't understand the situation. People don't trust the words coming from D.C.

these aren't just about taxes. they started when corrupt, greedy wall st businesses got trillions in bailouts (addition to stimulus) for making unethical business decisions. Who pays for all of that? who did the fed loan $2 trillion to? nobody knows and the fed won't tell us. this money was not voted on- no approval needed if from the fed. who does the fed answer to? the fed is as guilty as wall st. and wash d.c. in creating this mess. that is why people are pissed off - not just taxes.

If you do the math, there are not enough people making 250k a year to pay for all of this spending. It will slowly drip down on all of us in the form of taxes, inflation, and a devalued dollar. 11.5 trillion dollars in public debt and counting, to the tune of about a billion more each day.

Enough people have replied to your ignorance, but I had to add one last bit. Those who earn 250, 000 a year are the ones who hire other people and pay them money. They don't just hoard it. Even if they do not hire people they invest the money, only growing the economy. Corruption must be fought, but taxing the living daylights out of small business and big business alike is not going to solve anything.

How many black, spanish, and asian Americans will be at these parties? When non-white Americans watch the news tonight, they will see groups of mostly white men and women protesting president Obama. Now, I'm not claiming that anyone who protest against president Obama or taxes are racist. I'm just pointing out that these tea parties will be attended mostly by angry white voters who are still resentful from the results of November 2008. Oh ya, president Obama still has a 60% approval rating.

Obama ran on cutting taxes. Now he's blowing up the debt which will inevitably result in higher taxes for the very people he has promised tax cuts to. So maybe the resentment has just recently set in, no?

They were going smooth until Democrats forced lenders to make sub prime loans that failed in mass when oil prices went up. Republicans share in the blame for not sounding the alarm and going along with the stimulus packages and deficit spending.

Bush had an approval rating slightly higher than 60% April of 2001. The approval rating of a president is always higher during the first few months, but like Bush, Obama's approval rating is not as high as other presidents during this time.
