i thought of away to make a type of bacic sentry gun a couple of mins ago with an rcxd for camera and turning turet(just left to right), paintball gun(for lack of assult rifle) an automatic water gun for triger sytem( i would take it apart and make something to pull the triger because it makes a poll like object to go back and forth) and a bipod and other random holding things and motors, but this has blown my mind of whats posable.

Now you need the lock on sound to be the TF2 sentry lock on sounds. Maybe even make it look like a LVL1 sentry.

Then make the LVL2 sentry, then make LVL3. Home-made rockets anyone?

it would be too hard... autonomous drones are already flying around carrying out missile strikes but that's when they are pre-programmed something like autonomous riles out in the field with friendlies would be extremely hard to accomplish

Think of all the government installations that the US has, thousands of people on guard duty all across America could be put to better use, And a friendly person/vehicle identification system could be as easy as putting a transmitter on someone. It would be awesome if you built your own processor core instead of using a laptop. Then you design the sentry with it built in. Then you have an extremely portable defense, though obviously that would be difficult to manifest.

I really want to try constructing my own serious self-defense devices, and your sentry is a great start to look at. I just might try one of your kits. =)

This has been in movies auto-tracking+targeting systems i.e. Aliens 2, when they use the machine gun to block off two corridors. I thought that was a awsome. BLASTING aliens....now it will do humans in open fields, drop this off and a area is defended, military style..MiniGun and 4 rockets... damn... cameras in all spectrums(nightvision,heat, live, zoom) base monitored for refills and if unit was destroyed, I heard of new tech on sound origin that if sniper shoots at it it would know direction.

if you want a nice airsoft weapon that doesn't weigh too much for a sentry gun like what you built, an AEP (Automatic Electric Pistol) is the way to go. negligible recoil, high ROF on a full battery, and the chinese-made marui clones of these AEP's are as low as 35 bucks.

have one of these made from about 20 diferent sensors that shoots a 9mm at any target i choose or it autos for moving targets. I can also make it shoot at colors or shapes and it is completely automated when needed. The only problem is that it sees in 3D and it thinks it can shoot round things and it richochets. I poped a baloon once when a little kid acidentaly let go of it. It was funny as crap!!!HAHAHAHAHA.(im not evil im misunderstood)

When you change from a paintball gun to a BB gun do you have to mannually change any projectile-type settings or is there an automated calabrating system. And also how much damage did the aircraft take?

you change an X and Y offset value because the gun may not be pointed at the same spot as the previous one. it's pretty simple to do and a hell of a lot simpler than it used to be.

i was going to keep it simple by having one version that does it all. I'm not out to trick people with multiple different versions pro, trail, etc, etc and all that bullshit. i just want to keep it simple and straight forward. there wont be a cd key either. i will have hardware based piracy protection instead. the software will only work with my servo controller. people can pass the software around all they want but it'll be useless without my controller.
