Little known fact: Mick hopped in on this song because he and his daughter Elizabeth originally contributed backing vocals to it in the studio that were (probably at the behest of some bonehead record exec) deleted from the final cut.
I like the Edge but you must be high if you think he's better than Keith . The man composed some of the greatest riffs in the history of music . Match the catalogs of music and there is simply NO COMPARISON !
I was at this show & found it amazing that many thought this was a break-up love song. U2 & the Stones are favorites of mine, but I think it was something of a mistake to have Mick perform this duet with Bono. Entertaining, but misunderstood by more than a few.
@deanp0960 Mick does right with the vocals? haha. I luv the stones but I have never heard mick get out of 1 octave. haha. he sings in the same tone and doesnt even have a range. Bono as vocalist is the greatest rock singer of all time. You can try to argue all you want, Mick isn't that great of a singer, and personally he should stick to his own stuff.
@BonoWeCanBeOne this song sucks!mick makes it tolerable.bono is lost on that stage with mick.he took it.bono does not sound all that in this.he's to busy being amazed by jagger.what are you watching? or hearing?stop sucking bono off,it's gay.read what other people are saying.the same thing.greatest singer BULLSHIT!
u2 have no peers except the beatles! right! i think edge is under rated, the 360 stage is neat, the stones are the kings! u2 's music does not even get played.mick is the only thing good about this clip.u2 only wishes they will be as good or considered in the same breath as the rolling stones. i highly doubt they will beat out the bigger bang tour as highest grosing tour!
dude or dudett thanks for up load. poor Mic this song didnt realy fit his voice, athough i can see why ..on paper it should have worked. it was good not great, mic was stuck in a moment(haha)love ya Mic but this , well ..ok ...this MOMENT WILL PASS .. uP LOADER GREAT SOUND COOL VID THANKS 4SHARING
The stones ceased being relevant in the early 90s im afraid. Sad but very true. U2 are still selling out stadiums across the world even now and are about to embark on a 3rd leg of the 360 tour which is the highest grossing tour in history and they are only halfway through! U2 have no peers exept for the beatles.
I hate U2, especially Bono, but I love this song. when I heard it I thought that it was a stones song that I had never heard, I was disgruntled to find that it was by U2, the most overrated band of all time!
I don't think they could have chosen a better song to have Jaggar sing on than this one. It's the first song off their latest album that stood out and I truly fell in love with at first listen. I'm sure I'll forever more be associating the song with this performance, however, seems like 'every' song Mick sings on becomes that way for me Lol. That's the sign of a true master, to me.Long live Mick , long live U2. Rock and Roll Legends, without a doubt ;o)
U2 are the best band of their generation . But Mick fronts the GREATEST rock band of all time , BAR NONE ! The Stones have been on a 40 plus years dream ride . The Stones are rock royalty . I'd be willing to bet that that Bono was deeply honored to share the stage and have Mick do this song with him .
@ancientax -- ! The Stones have been on a 40 plus years dream ride -- TOURING WITH THE SAME MUSIC!!!!
U2 constantly are touring writing new songs, new sounds and new CLASSICS, " walk on" "kite" " sometimes you cant make it on your own " -- to name but a few, MICK JAGGER is a show man no doubt! but the band are resting on their past hits to sell "FAIRWELL" tours, with u2 that isnt the case! , Bono leaves Jagger for dead with his vocals her, and in saying that Bono isnt the best singer , #soul
.. and to continue, its hard to say unless you've been there, but i saw both at the same venue (Giants Stadium), and there is an aura, an atmosphere at a live U2 show that is impossible to verbally describe. The Stones are awesome, but a U2 show has a certain spirit. A lot has to do with Bono, but some of the best parts of a U2 show are the musical breaks. They have a lot of chemistry. I love BOTH bands, but I prefer U2,. They are def in the DISCUSSION for best rock band ever. Face it ppl!
I'm tired of the "taboo" when mentioning any other group besides the beatles, the rollign stones, or zep as the best of all time. U2 is in the discussion, thats all I'm saying. I LOVE the stones, i saw them live in 05 and was blown away. At that time it was the best I had ever seen. Period ... Until I saw U2 this past summer. Bono and Mick are hard to compare, 2 very diff styles. Mick is more energetic, absolutely. Bono's vocals are superior (IMO best in rock history). Both are legends. .....
U2 is too soft for rocking and too political for poping...they do have some great songs, but are nowhere close to the authorship of the Stones, Dylan, Zepp, Beatles......or other true legends. I am not a hater, but I do not understand the fuzz over U2.
sorry but it the greatest rock band since the beatles, everything does sell but the true test is tours and u2 sells them out. taking a stand is what makes them great and special. It is easy to stand in middle but it takes courage to choose a side.
hate to burst your bubble elmo but u2 is one of the best selling rock bands of all time. to say that they're nothing special is plain ignorant. i have the outmost respect for jagger and the stones but he kinda ruins the song for me. its a slow soft song and he feels the need to go over the top with his mannerisms. if u look at a better version bono laughs a little bit at jaggers hand gestures.
The fact that it is allegedly the best selling rock band is not conclusive and it means nothing........all kinds of shit sells these days but that doesn't make it legendary or legit. Again, they are a good band but nothing more than that.
Jagger is the best! It's Bono's dream to have Mick on stage to sing a U2 song. The Stones are in a different league, with a lot of other bands below them. U2 is not even one of those. A good band that came from the 80's, but nothing special. It's funny to read comments of blind U2 fans who actually think that Bono is anywhere near the quality of the best frontman that ever set foot on a stage.
This performance is enjoyable, but the song wouldn't even make it to a Stones record.
the stones toured as support of U2? where do you get your facts from? the best selling tour of all times is a bigger bang (2005/07) with over 500 millions dollars. they haven't done anything lately? well they tour and make records. And the stones have made over 30 studio albums, and U2 just 11, so you can't really compare them. I love them both but the stones are far better.
@MrElmoLewis I've always loved U2. And since the late 90's I kind of dropped off from their stuff and I felt the exact same way you do. However, I went and saw them last month in Dallas. and WOW! I was extremely thrilled. Muse opened up the show and I wanted to throttle those silly-you-know-whats. they should be so lucky...U2 was mind-blowing. I was pleasantly, no make that Extremely surprised!
they should do their own thing... i didn't like bono in gimme shelter and i certainly didn't like mick in stuck in a moment... u2 and the stones are the best though
Jagger was great but Bono is much more of a dynamic frontman and singer. They are both in the top 10 of all time but Bono is definitely more dynamic although I really love Mick and the Stones. This is a treat to see them collaborate on such a great U2 song.

I don't know if anyone knows it yet, but hopefully u realized by now that Mick has nothing on Bono. He proves it here. Bono says move over mick this is how its done. Mick is pathetic.
The Rolling Stones haven't had a decent song since "Say, Say, Say".....and even then they had to duet with Stevie Wonder. Think of all U2's great CD's...The Unforgettable Tree, September & Wart. Need I say any more?
Continued from below (YouTube said I was over the limit - I've hardly touched a drop!)
Mick Jagger may not have been the best singer ever - but he was definitely the lead singer in the best band ever. Live, or on record - as history will prove (the Beatles were a pop group, here today and gone in 2064 - the Stones will be Gods in 5009).
Mick Jagger is THE ultimate rock n roll band leader.
Nobody comes - or, more importantly, came - close.
John Lennon wished he had been in the Stones instead of the Beatles, but he would have been Jagger's sidekick, and he knew it. Robert Plant and Roger Daltrey were great singers, but they didn't have Jagger's stage presence. In fact, nobody has ever had Jagger's stage presence, apart from Elvis (I won't even mention MJ, as I'm talking about rock music, not Madonna-ish 'pop').
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Ha. Jagger is horrible. U see here he can't sing and never could. Bono is a true talented singer and he is a better frontman. Plus he has Edge behind him and with him and Bono together no one comes close.
I still haven't found what I'm looking for.......U2 doing a cover version of Bye Bye Baby. Mick Jagger could join them for a rendition of My Boy Lollipop.....now that would be swell!
McKeown? Fred McKeown of the Oldham band, the Maine City Armadillos?
(Or was that an American football team?)
Yes, he was good. They did a wonderful cover version of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' (not the Queen song, the 1940s song with the same name - it was either Gracie Fields or George Formby, I always get those three mixed up).
Elvis wasn't in a band......well he was, but that's a different story. Mick Jagger is on a par with Dave Bartram {showaddywaddy lead singer}......crap! Bono is up among the "greats"....Lennon, Plant & McKeown.
Mick Jagger is easily the best frontman ever - no competition. He's the Elvis of band leaders. Even when Elvis was alive in the mid-70s, Jagger was the world's most famous star (Fact!).
Bono is a long way behind Freddie Mercury, Robert Plant, Dave Bartram and a host of others (I could name them all but I'm running out of characters permitted lol).
I would say Bono, Jagger, Freddie Mercury, Steven Tyler, Springsteen are in the same playing field, not fair to say one is better than the other they all have something special about them and to their fans.
Jagger has'nt cared about anything but the business aspect of Rock ' n' Roll for a very long time. That's why Keith was pissed at him for so many years.
I hate to agree with afsound.....but yeah, another song would've been better. But still love it anyway! I don't care what the critics say about U2's performance on this night. So what that they were a little off on their game, still a gem to watch!
Imagine if Lennon were alive, U2 and the icon, that will have to be the most powerfull thing to see and hear, but its ok, i like Jagger, U2 rocks all the way
this concert was the best i've ever seen, was there in the suites. The collaborations that occured will most likely never been seen again and they were all fantastic.

Thanks for posting, Danno. This is a wonderful gift to us. It is the first time I hear Mick singing a U2 song.
Merci Mick and U2. Great job and great moment for us.

I would say Bono, Jagger, Freddie Mercury, Steven Tyler, Springsteen are in the same playing field, not fair to say one is better than the other they all have something special about them and to their fans.

And David Bowie. :-)

Jagger has'nt cared about anything but the business aspect of Rock ' n' Roll for a very long time. That's why Keith was pissed at him for so many years.

This song reminds me of "Beast of Burden".

Jagger was the greatest front man yeah until 1981. After that the performances become too much Vegas style.

When "Stuck" first came out, I thought it sounded something like a very loose sequel to "You Can't Always Get What You Want."

this concert was the best i've ever seen, was there in the suites. The collaborations that occured will most likely never been seen again and they were all fantastic.

I actually liked Fergie's performance in "Gimme Shelter".
Now, "stuck in a moment" was amazingly executed.

I dont like Jaggers gay like singing style he does since the 90ies. I like his raw brute force singing style he did in the 70ies/ 81.

Anytime jagger and Bono are on stage together, its worth watching...Love U2, love the Stones...but lets be honest, this didn't work.
Shoulda picked a different song for what could have been a legendary duet...like Ultraviolet !
