I'm a 4th generation Pentecostal. I've been singing in the choir since I was 12. I always had questions and it came to a point where I was actually an agnostic. I was still singing in the choir and I didn't tell anyone not even my parents that I was an agnostic because I didn't want to upset them and I didn't want to disassociate myself from the church. I could see that they were, with all of their flaws, still better people than the others. All I had to do was go to work to see that.

Then I remember that Sunday when my pastor gave a testimony about being in Bolivia and seeing a 17 year old girl get filled with the Holy Ghost and when God spoke through her she spoke perfect English proclaiming: "I am the Lord and my name is Jesus! I am the Lord and my name is Jesus!" Not only did this prove there really is a God but it showed exactly who God is and for the first time I truly believed.

I did this on a mission trip. It was soooo moving and made me see things in a totally different way. It felt so good to get what i had bearing down on me away. My wasn't that dramatic but some were heartbreaking. Like there was a guy i meant there...his name was parker he changed my life and his was Tried to take my life. i about lost it. But he came to me at the end and said you know if i had followed through God would have never put you in my life it was nice cause i never saw myself as light

Amen. People who have never had the experience only see us speaking in tongues, when there is so much more that goes on in that experience. I remember I felt so much joy and peace, clean, and just wow. I'm not sure I was slain in the Spirit, but I remember God giving me visions of my future. When I read that stanza I see a picture of someone being comforted after getting their heart broke or making a mistake "I dont have time to maintain these regrets" The verse says "Like" a sloppy wet kiss...it doesnt say

It isn't even refering to God in that line...it's talking about the collision of heaven and earth through God's grace and for me that picture is much more like a sloppy wet kiss than just a beautiful kiss.
