I'm doing this project for 8th grade Physical Science... This really helped, i loved the one with the (i think) red ping pong balls for wheels. I also like the very first one and the one with the smiley face balloon
@iffatjahanful I agree, unfortunately our curriculum has changed and we no longer teach this section of the course to be able to do this activity again.
@ashleytisdale101girl You're absolutely right. The wheels are what makes or breaks a balloon car. I wish you all the luck on your balloon car. You're going to do great. Let me know how it goes.
I was trying to find a type of cart model to explain rocket science
I think these balloon cars will do the trick, I think I'll just add a small box of sand in the cart that will slowly discharge as the cart propels forward to simulate fuel being used and reducing the mass and allowing it to accelerate
e.g solubility , chemical balance what did they cover so far from chemistry units and more , do they go fast ?? is it similar grade 10 apply, whats the difference between them?
I can't wait till I assign this activity because my kids have such a great time building them and they really enjoy race day. Thanks for watching. Best of luck with your studies.
It's cool to know that other schools are doing this assignment. Too bad next years curriculum change will no longer allows us to do this activity with the grade 10's.
ya i used it but what the think is those cds are wobbling (shaking) how to stick those to make it stiff

@800Snowflake008 ya, CD's are good, paper plates for a body (Styrofoam ones).

Thanks for watching. Yes aerodynamics is important. I've also found the CD wheels have helped give the cars distance.

why don't they make real cars out of big ass balloons? if you get in a wreck it would just be fun, not deadly!

With our new curriculum we're bringing in next year, this assignment will no longer fit :( It's too bad because the my students love this assignment.
