Throughout his book,Wiesel creates a bunch of characters to mirror his inner desire to leave his father behind as dead weight. First,a 13 year old beats his own father for not making the bed properly.Second,a son leaves behind his rabbi father on the "death march." Third,a son strangles his own father to death for a piece of bread.These events are so absurd,if they were put in a fictional novel or a film,they would be ridiculed

My honors english class is reading Night and its a pretty good book. i have about 20 pages until i reach the ending. We had to watch a video tape of this dude when he was on Oprah and HOLY CRAP is he hard to understand. Someone should repost this with subtitles or something.... idk if thats possible though because i dont know anything about that kind of stuff.

He is so sweet in the book Night. I loved reading it so much, that I have read it 5 times already! Oh, and whoever makes fun of him or the Holocaust, shouldn't be watch Holocaust videos. Elie Wiesel showed an immense amount of resiliency through writing the novel, "Night". You have no right to call him a fraud if he has actually witnessed the Holocaust, which he did. How can one man be a fraud if he records what events happened in his life?

Do your research dear, and then think again. Read his book NIGHT and pay attention what he says about the gypsies and the homosexuals in the concentration camps. Pay attention to what he says about himself at the beginning, what a brilliant young man he was, with 15, and lost his belief in God on the train to the first concentration camp. Then read Norman Finkelstein's book THE HOLOCAUST INDUSTRY and learn what Mr. Wiesel demands for an appearance. Then re-evaluate him!
