Even though i don't understand his verbal explanation, his body language and technique is so tight, that i don't need to understand what he's saying. BJJ is an international language in and of itself. You can literally learn the art from someone who does not speak the same language as you do.
I've trained under this guy for 3 months while I was in Seoul: March 2010-May 2010. He is a national brown belt BJJ competitor and one of the best I've rolled with. His school is definitely worth checking out. MARC Jiu-Jitsu Academy near Sungshin Women's University.
u can complete this with out the leg over the body its a bit faster i like how he talks about the thumb being up they dont show that in to many videos
for beginners yes but once you feel the movement of the armbar and ur comfortable on the ground u can leave stomach leg off. just remember to drive your ankles down.
also unless you're very good at making things tight (read:extremely good) some people will ALWAYS escape when the leg is under. It makes (from what i can glean from numerous instructors) the safest armbar escape a very easy option though a variation of spiders web could go towards preventing that
Damn son, on the hard wood.....knees hurt looking at it

thats not a reverse arm bar, thumb is up reverse it needs to be down and the arm bridged from wrist to upper arm, still pretty slick tho

This guy actually went past a submission to get another one. He had a really nice face over (meaning his leg when he steps over) straight arm lock.

its just an armbar from knee on belly he just secures it before he puts his knee up
if u put ur knee up first ppl tend to try to push it with their arm, just under hook and go
makes it easier to get the arm
Dillingerescplan 2 years ago
Are you guys doing that on a wooden floor???

Tolstiy1980 3 years ago
Hmmm...I thought I was going to see a reverse armbar? We call this a spinning armbar.
sgtjonesiniraq 4 years ago
It's just a step over armbar, you tricked me! hahaha
Hawaiimuthafukka 4 years ago
wait why is it called a reverse armbar?
isnt this just a farside armbar??
jackass77780 4 years ago 10
@jackass77780 if it were a far side armbar everyone would have to be really fat and not doing anything right and it would be really funny.
