Between 1997 and 2005, Ferrari was in charge of Maserati. They crafted these cars. The engine block is the same as the F430 and the gearbox is the same they used in the F575. The first batch had a software that made the shifting very aggressive. Yes, you can hear the lag but only in the relaxing bits. The fact is this cars have a software that changes the shifting speed on demand. Check min 1:28 & 1:42. No lag. As per your friend I agree, otherwise we would be talking instead or writing. Cheers.

I did get information. watched another test by a german race driver (tim schrick) an he complained about the same problem! if you watch the videos carefully, you can even hear the time-lag between gear changes pretty well. and same gearbox doesn't mean it works the same way, when it's connected to a different engine or hooked up with different electronics:
