If you look into where they're from & what's the main industry of their state or the major import/export you'll almost always find some kind of fossil fuel at the end of your search. This has NOTHING to do with her past, looks, money, or any of that. Just the fact that she is the Governor gives her total access to all of Alaska's industries.

I can't disagree with that. The ideal Republican ticket would be Mark Sanford for POTUS with Palin as his "veepee" choice - if not the other way around. There are other possibilities, too. Both Larry Craig and Mark Foley would be good in either spot.

This may come as a surprise to you, but the vast majority of the world's great intellects didn't have college degrees. I'm all for education, but it's no guarantee of wisdom.

So the question is simply: do you want a mild and long depression? Or a short and heavy one? Obama simply chosen the milder but longer one. What's best we could discuss for ever. But most people prefer the shorter type.
It may be hard to be in charge under such pressure. I think he just didn't want to stand on the side line and watch. And wanted to take action. Which is understandable. In my opinion, no action would be the best option.

I guess you all dont get it. Alaska is BIG in the oil industry. That's why she's getting in so easily. Your just trading in one for another. If you look into where they're from & what's the main industry of their state or the major import/export you'll almost always find some kind of fossil fuel at the end of your search. This has NOTHING to do with her past, looks, money, or any of that. Just the fact that she is the Governor gives her total access to all of Alaska's industries.

I can't disagree with that. The ideal Republican ticket would be Mark Sanford for POTUS with Palin as his "veepee" choice - if not the other way around. There are other possibilities, too. Both Larry Craig and Mark Foley would be good in either spot.

Uh.... I would expect most middle school C-students to know that the "veepee" doesn't run the Senate and only casts a vote in that body when there's a 50-50 tie. The only other Constitutional role of the VP is to serve in place of the POTUS in the event the latter is unable to carry out the duties of office. Check a 6th grade civics book. It's all there. Maybe you didn't learn it. Maybe she didn't learn it. But most of us did.

Accomplished successful start of the oil pipeline, the largest civil engineering project in all 50 states (a project that the three previous governors had failed to accomplish). And oil revenues to the tune of $1,400 for every Alaskan man, woman, and child (compared to Obama's $33,000 subtracted from every man, woman, and child). And you've got a photo of her in a leather skirt.

These are the sort of non-issues that go back and forth. All politicians make verbal blunders. Obama said that Austrian was a language, that there were 57 states, he flubbed the presidential oath, and he simply collapses when his teleprompter glitches.
What matters in politics is what the politicians do; unless you're desperate, in which case you try to make their verbal flubs mean more than they do. Bottom line: no idiot could have negotiated the Alaskan pipeline. 'Nuff said.

The pipeline was started in 1974-1975 and finished in about two and a half years. SP was born in '64 which means she was ten years old at the time. No big deal. I don't care.
But what is dangerous is her lack of knowledge and, still worse, the fact that she obviously didn't care. The day the NAFTA-Africa story broke, I asked my eight year old grandson what countries were north and south of the USA and he got it right. He knew Africa was a continent not a country. He's in third grade!

But you know just as well as I do that her Africa-is-a-country was a flub no different from Obama's "57 states" and "the Austrian language." You're 1) trying to make substance out of accident and 2) applying the method to only one side. It's a question fo consistency.
The pipeline Palin is trying to build is obviously different from the 1970's one, and -- if she can keep the oil companies from controlling it -- will largely exceed the 1970's one. Obama, btw, also wants this new pipeline.

Both Roberts and Obama flubbed the speech. The difference is that Roberts took responsibility for his part, Obama didn't. The most important oath he'll probably ever take, and you want to make his responsibility in it somebody else's. Let me guess: he's not responsible, either, for Porkulus' almost total lack of effect on the economy, too, huh? Or for his weak response to Iran's crisis?
I've got another joke for you: teleprompter or Supreme Court Justice for giving the oath in 2012?

Like I said in my earlier post, these attempts to focus on one side's flubs rather than another side's flubs don't add up to much. Obama said just as many stupid things in front of cameras as Palin. Palin's critics lack consistency, and it's embarrassing to have to watch them identify a double standard with intelligence.

Obama; Ivy League graduate with honors and a Law Degree. If he wanted to be a mayor of a town, such as "Wasilla", I'm sure he would've suceeded.

This may come as a surprise to you, but the vast majority of the world's great intellects didn't have college degrees. I'm all for education, but it's no guarantee of wisdom.
It's what you do with what you got that makes the difference. Call me crazy, but I don't see O's Ivy league diploma selling for $10 trillion dollars, which is what we'll need in about four years.

With an Ivy League Degree, he can't be that stupid. Besides, it took Palin 8yrs. and 5 different community colleges to obtain a Bachelors Degree. I did it in 4yrs at Florida Atlantic University (Boca Raton, Fla.).
What did he do with his degree? He was a Constitutional Law instructor, helped others (Pro-Bono), etc. U.S. Pres.
Again. Tell me where can I get a return on any investment in 6 months, w/o putting up any money. Where do they do that?

As for Porkulus, nobody's demanding that Obama turn the economy around in four months. What they were asking was at least to refrain from multiplying the national debt by nine and to at least change our trajectory a little bit. It's not that we're falling further into the hole, it's that Obama just cut our life lines to shreds, too.

Obama just invested tens of thousands of my, and my son's, and my grandchildren's, and my great-grandchildren's income in a Ponzi scheme that even the editors of The Economist and Kruger (both of whom supported Obama for president) now say just simply isn't going to work. Conservatives were just as opposed to Bush's spending as the liberals were. The difference is that somehow Obama spending much, much more to get us out of debt (an absurd tactic) is somehow wonderful. Why it was bad for Bush and good for Obama you won't say. Like I said before, the economists have already agreed that Obama's spending will result in a much larger deficit.
