The point of the movie is that you know exactly what the main characters know. The mystery behind it is what makes it work. There is a back story to it, you just had to follow the ARG to get it. The storyline is to get Beth and get out. It is the perfect storyline because, as already mentioned, not every random guy off the street becomes a hero. It is about survival. Also, you must have never seen anything Abrams was behind. He has a knack of NOT giving answers that are blatant.

Saw Cloverfield earlier tonight - it kicks ass! Just plain AWESOME! Hints for proper movie viewing: 1) Don't sit up front or you might barf. 2) Pay attention to the background in the last scene where the guy & girl are on the ferris wheel. 3) Wait until the credits are finished & listen carefully.

Want to know what the monster looks like? See the movie - LOL! Seriously, just knowing what it is or seeing a picture won't do any justice. You really have to experience it!

everyone! go to wikipedia and search "cloverfeild" the theatrical poster for the movie is out, on the poster you can see where the monster ripped the statue of liberty's head off, if you notice the scratch marks on it you can see it has 3 claws, and there is a trail of water leading to the city, it either swims or flys, it can't be Godzilla either cuz if you keep reading the page it says J.J. Abrams wanted his own monster, but the monster may be Godzilla inspired
