I'll bet somehow Fed Ex blamed everything on the Driver and fired him and denied him benefits and totally screwed him and his family over. I hope he is ok and gets a better job for a better company.
@RayAir1 And how do you think stuff gets to the stores, by magic? Besides a majority of accidents overall are cars, and 70-85% of the truck involved accidents are the fault of the car driver. So the cars are far more dangerous to everyone on the roads.
@scidav87 When a driver makes the decision to get out on the road the conditions are not a excuse for a wreck..The driver must drive according to the conditions at hand without wrecking. If they can not then they need to park till they can. I also know very well how Fed Ex drivers are out on the road and what chances they are willing to take with everyones safety, let alone their own.
Most 4 wheelers (non-CDL drivers) will drive maybe 100,000 miles in 10 years a Truck Driver will/can drive it in 10 to 12 months. And one at fault accident can poss. end his or her job/career.
@Iggyracin you ever seen what happens when a truck does 90MPH blows a tire and slides down a road. The driver survived with minor injures. They flew him out thinking he was hurt much worse. NB it was also a FED EX truck, that crashed a MM 243 in Black Canyon City, AZ a number of years ago.
That's why we shouldn't have freaking trains driving down our interstate. I've seen trucks with dual full size trailers, absolutely insane, let alone the tri-trailer setup. Completely unsafe IMO and makes me (and I'm sure others) uneasy when you have to get by them..
bull, are you kidding? accidents will happen doesn't matter if ts 20 ft or 200 ft, look at the size of trailers ( trains ) they have in australia talk about trains 3-4 full size. Look in Europe the size of trailers they have there. I have seen alot of amazing drivers with trains on youtube, and saying that a professional driver can't handle trains is an insult to many of them !! If you look at most of the accidents its caused by 4 wheels on the road and not truckers.
well i wasn't attacking the drivers, but having these caught by winds, especially here in KS on I-70 is pretty dangerous.. doesn't matter how good of a driver you are, there comes a point where there isn't anything you can do.
Kyle, I respect what your saying I feel nervous when passing some of them too, I am a poor student so i have an older cobalt so i am like a little bug to these guys lol. One of my neighbors is a driver i seen the sacrifice that he and his family have to go through, sometimes he is home every 3 weeks and he said the longest he has been away from home is 2 months on the road. and ,the price of fuel is hurting many of them considering they only get 5 -6 maybe 7 miles to the gallon.
Did this truck come out of Great Bend? Because at the freight terminal in Great Bend there is a truck and trailer parked behind their building that looks mangled exactly the way this truck in the video is. I've been wondering what happened..
I'm a Ground driver by the way, definitely scary thinking about something like this happening.
Jonesie, let Roundman know the the shop guys are really glad he's ok. It'll take a little bit of work to put his truck back together.:) I really don't like that this ended up on here but nothing is sacred anymore.
whats wrong with video of a wreck?I personally think the one that happened down in kentucky was worse.Thats what happens driving on ice, chances are you gonna wipe out.
Glad to hear he is doing good and will be around for the holidays. Looks like it was a pretty scary ride. Times like this makes one realize every moment is precious and to not take family for granted.

None of FedEx's drivers know how to control a rig!!!!!!! They all need to be randomly piss tested and have breathalyzers in thier trucks to start.

I love the way some people automatically assume he lost his job! I work for Fedex Freight FTW and they don't fire people at the drop of a hat!
kevincindy 1 year ago
@kevincindy they should fire the 7-8 drivers(I dunno maybe its the same asshole) that have wrecked here in Arizona in the past 5 years of so.

@cobraman96 Wreck wasn't his fault. Ice plus random crosswind plus HUGE surface area=wreck ;)

I worked this accident. This was the most damage I have seen with such little injuries. The good lord was after this man.
