  • D-O-K-K-E-N

Devils Organization Killing Kids Every Night

    Keep ROKKEN WITH DOKKEN \m/ (>.<') \m/

  • i went to one dokken concert and only heard the distortion of the guitar

  • arghhhh its mr scary havent seen dokken in video in years george lynch is a kick ass guitarist and why were all the best rock/metal bands from the 80,s i mean there was guns n roses iron maiden metallica dokken motley crue rainbow alcatrazz megadeth cacophony steve vai joe satriani van halen ozzy osbourne with randy rhoads and so many others music lost its way around 1994 after kurt cobain died im not a nirvana fan at all but for some reason after kurt died rock music died

  • Fuck,I miss the '80's! All this arguing about who's better/plays better/sounds better,etc...Does any of that shit really matter? I mean, look at the disgusting/pathetic 'music' of today,'nuff said!

  • motley crue were fucking bastards only doing music for girls and shit... Dokken did it because they fucking love playing, I mean, just look at Lynch, he plays with so much passion... And, their music is so unique, nobody can play like them... anyway, , Dokken will always be the best for me.

  • lynch for ever

  • wtf are you talking about??crue better band than dokken c'mon guys are you on drugs??dokken is a way talented and in my opinion way better than crue...but leave that alone and listen to the song...

  • +*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+

I WISH guitar would come back into style!!!

I'm so SICK of guitars tuned so low you can't even tell what's going on.

Let's not forget the cookie monster voice.

A guy works his WHOLE life at this stuff (SINCE I WAS 3!!!) and people would rather hear Justin Gaga.

I'm honestly SHOCKED that people stand for it. You just can't make it with talent alone anymore.

    Bladen

  • Lynch = Monster!

  • They were good. Some people say Crue were still better ? Bullshit. Don can sing circles around Vince Neil. Great band.

  • @cobias that's the thing, Don is a better singer than Vince, George a better guitarist than Mick. But Crue is the better band. Crue had more style, a cooler sound, a better image, better songs, which lead to their success. I love Dokken and their music, but man Dokken's lyrics were cheesy....but good cheesy, unfortunately it didnt work out for them. Don could sing, but Vince was a better more exciting frontman, Pilson a better bassist, b ut not as cool as Nikki..ect. I could go on about this.

  • @Rattmaster86 I get tired of who is the better " front man" . Its about the MUSIC. THE. MUSIC. And fuck lyrics, the melody is the most important.

  • @Rattmaster86 I love both bands; if I were supposed to choose just one, i'd prefer suicide D:! Favourites: Don and Nikki ;D ...

  • @Rattmaster86 Discussion involving Motley Crue, and we're talking about Dokken having cheesy lyrics? lol, I am not saying this to start an argument, but save for Poison their aren't too many people with more cheesy lyrics than Crue at all. Their lyrics were already bad enough, now recently they write even crappier with stuff like MF of the year? It's sad.....

  • @DavidKinner The cheese I talked about involving Dokken was that most if not all their lyrics are about love and breakups. It's cheesy but they did it better than anyone, and I love it. I'm also a huge Crue fan, they wrote some cheese too, but not every song was about relationships. I guess what I'm saying is, to me cheesiness its just all about love, and that's what Dokken is about. Crue wrote about Sex, drugs, alcohol which isn't as cheesy to me, love them both either way.

  • @cobias Dokken is definit wayy better live !! and Lynch is wayyyy better guitarist than Mick Mars..Mick Mars might as well just lay down his guitar and not play at alll, Dude suck !!!!

  • Does anyone know what pedal Georgey using during the solo....sounds sooo mean!!!

  • starting at 3:45 I want to learn how to do that. I am sory if I count time it right.

  • Yeah man....singer sounds like crap now. Must be too much booze and too many pops. Still, I saw QR in concert around 1989 and it was absolutely great! My memories of all those metal concerts will remain forever....!

  • Never headlined in the 80"s. Always opening act. Sad, they should have been bigger then Motley Crue

  • @southparkcows1968 i agree they should have been bigger, but not bigger than Crue. Crue is in a league of their own. Dokken just didn't have enough power, drive, uhmf, or whatever. they had good songs, but not great songs, Don was a good singer but not a good front-man. They just didnt have "it" if you know what I mean, nothing made them stand out against all the other bands. that being said, love them like crazy, great band. Keep rokken with Dokken \m/

  • @Rattmaster86 Your right Rattmaster86. Love your videos, keep up the awesome work

  • @southparkcows1968 Uh...No!!! They headlined for the Back for the Attack tour! get your facts straight before you post!

  • @southparkcows1968

And for the right people... they were. Glam metal was mostly about the look that's why Dokken wasn't so known and Motley Crue fit in pretty well into it just cause of the look. Even that Dokken had so much better music.

  • Give me 250 Likes And I Will Play a couple Of Dokken songs In My Parents Bedroom At 3:00Am

  • Give me 250 Likes And I Will Play a couple In My Parents Bedroom At 3:00Am

  • these guys can do harmonies like no other band ive heard before

  • @1devo6587 I agree... it helps that 3/4 of the band can actually sing.

  • And of course, George Lynch ... always my favorite of that period. Not spastic like some players or too laid back, just the master of what needed to happen. I forgot how cute he was ... forgive me ... just gotta say!

  • As I recall, Dokken was right up there with all the other heavy metal hair bands in the mid 80s ... I always felt they were special and am glad they're getting the airplay ( at least in my city) that they deserve. Just wish Dokken had ... taken better care of himself physically (ahem) cuz he's hot as hell here.

  • Just saw Dokken a couple weeks ago. There still great.

  • Everyone's entitled to their opinion, so here's mine: If you think Dokken sucked, you're a damn idiot. The fact that Poison was more successful than Dokken proves that people didn't have taste back in the 80's, just like now.

  • wow george lynch is officially the most underrated guitarist of the 80s

  • @TheBadonkadonky underrated? Hell no. George Lynch was one of the most famous from the era

  • this is beautiful

  • Rockin Dokken!!!

  • one of the best bands ever, and soooo underrated, they should be up there with Judas Priest, Aerosmith, Twisted Sister etc.

  • Awesome!!!!

  • This is a better recording and performance than anything on the "Beast from the East" live album! Thanks Rattmaster! This performance and quality recording capture what was awesome about Dokken.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!! Best Live Dokken video out there....

  • Rattmaster, these videos are truly unearthed treausres and thank you! Dokken=great vocalist-check Heavy metal guitar maestro-check Great songs-check

I saw Dokken when Van Halen headlined the Monsters of Rock, I don't think they ever made "headliner" status because they just didn't have that "charisma" or "it" factor on stage-its hard to explain.

  • best band ever. best guitarist ever. best song ever.

  • aerosmith should have opened for dokken....

  • Wow, love George but he sure screwed that solo up....

  • Awesome!! Was at this show!!!

  • lol at the drummers hair. i miss the 80s

  • Man, this was a great concert!!

  • Great idea: Dokken opening for kiss 2011

  • Listen too this video (loudly with headphones) just short of your ears bleeding, especially the lead break. No one has capture that sound like george. This video out of all of the dokken live video's is as close as exists, the real sound they produced live. In person there was not nearly the distortion level as here. Saw all this era's greats at the clubs on the strip and, in the arena's. George was the "RIPPER" guitarist for early to mid eighties. That's why EVH called him "scary".

  • Reb Beach is a really good guitarist with many notches on his pistol....But he is not on Lynch's level. Lynch is a 1 in 6.6 billion as is EVH. Back in the day it was George vs Eddie in hollywood when they were both looking to get signed to a deal. Gene Simmons picked Van Halen over Dokken and rest is history. George also went head to head with Randy Rhodes (bless his soul) too become Ozzy's guitarist. He was'nt chosen either time but that allowed Dokken to bloom into a great rock band.

  • @sharkbytz , brilliantly said, nonetheless, Reb has evolved in to a spectacular guitarist and these days, he can smoke Lynch's ass, anytime. Lynch was my favorite 80's guitarist and he was exceptionally creative and charismatic. I'd say he was even more charismatic then Eddie, but the problem was, although George had some great success, in the long term, it wasn't as fulfilling, both mentally and commercially, as he would have liked. He deserved lot more... Then his infatuation with Budibuilding

  • love dokken but don isnt as good as he thinks he is lynch paulson and the drummer are sooooo much better..no wonder they broke up....

  • @miagirllovesme don and they ever brash and creep actions of george broke the band up,george is a genious but also a realy motherfucker thats what i get from articulres videos and websites.they 50 and should be able to put shit aside.george is desperate ghell hes making guityars wtf.mic is a mess see what drugs and alcohol and cigs and to much californis sun does to ya.i met mic at a festival florida he was walking with sum dude .and he was so cool and laughed constantly just cool cat.

  • @miagirllovesme hell if it wasnt don dokens last name and he owns the doken band name .id put a newer singer and get mic and jeff and george and hit the road.i bet that happens some day .

  • LYNCH ROCKS!!!!!!

  • Lot of comments are obviously from people who weren't there in the 80's. Dokken was one of the best bands, had the sound that made them a 3 platinum album selling bands. The videos you see on Youtube cannot and will not capture what an event an arena band live playing their great songs really was. Rock was one huge party then, before grunge made it miserable and the labels took the sound, our sound, away. This is an awesome video from back in the day. No matter what the 'experts' say.

  • reb beach who is reb beach lol .goerge lynch is way better one of the most underated guitarist. plays from the heart alot of guitar players have speed but lack heart

  • @gary101100 george lynch is capable of blinding shreding speed and skills watch guitar lesson videos the dude is a beast way before synaster gate that other flake zachy vengence..

  • master lynch, what can i say or do

  • Look at the drummers hair- it's like a lion's mane!

  • @ATRTAP no mics a mess i saw him with ted nugent barely able to breath but..... still drumming his ass off.

  • George Forever! I like when he played on Dio's "We're Stars" cut. U could tell and hear his peers were totally blown away by his licks! He was as melodic as it gets. closest to Jimi for metal I think!

  • David Coverdale on the last Whitesnake tour introduced Reb Beach as the "Porn Star" of Guitar....im not quite sure what he was trying to get at..the other guy.."The Lord of the Les Paul"...whoever he was was much better...now i have been reading since the 80's so many buffed up articles on how Reb is "the Man"...and i envy his custom Ibanez design...but i cant even count the times i saw Reb Beach live...and he has never sounded anywhere near as good as George Lynch even on one show.

  • @SlayerCrampsMisfits rebs solo on' headed for a coffe break' was the ultimate panty dropper and ol reb can get the ladys mojo going with the chops from which he been nick named by coverdale.george has the tone in the 80's but the modern lynch mob detuned stuff ill pass his old shit is the best i dont care its the epic tone.

  • George is funny - He plays a $300.00 guitar and has at least $30,000.00 worth of Marshall heads and cabinets lined up behind him!! Now that's rock and roll!

  • reb beach of winger replaced george lynch. lynch is an INCREDIBLE guitarist, and is probably all around my favorite guitarist, but being a 16 year old metal guitarist, i have to say that reb beach is better. it kills me to say that but the guitars in any winger song are just to good. like seventeen or madalaine. but Dokken and lynch still rule!

  • @wickedsensations16 i have to say, it is a tough competition, they are great guitarists and musicians, i have to side with lynch though, if only for the strech your hands go through on the "lightning strikes again" riff. everyone's gotta love a bit of winger though :)

  • I saw Dokken in Philly in 87, only they opened for Judas Priest, So did they do Philly twice that year or is this actually that show and not Aerosmith ?

  • @Rickmeister3030 Dokken opening for Judas Priest in 1986 on their Turbo Lover tour, in 1987-88 they opening for Aerosmith.

  • @Rattmaster86 Thanks man, I actually just dug out all my ticket stubs and found that out. Here I was thinking I was at this show :( LOL

  • @Rattmaster86 I was at the philly dokken/aerosmith, I remember it was like a rainy, cold miserable night , and leaving the concert..saw some chick getting pounded in the mud under the bushes right next to the Spectrum..that was priceless haaaa

  • @Rickmeister3030 Don Dokken thanks the crowd after the song ends and says Aeromsith will be out next. I saw this tour in Richmond.

  • 10,000,000 albums sold. they should have been headline band. best glam band of the 80s.

once bands made it big on the 80s, most of them would perform drunk and on drugs.

this show is true professional rock and roll at its best for 1987.

  • Dokken opening for Aerosmith?????.....I think Aerosmith opened Dokken.

  • god bless the 80s

  • I didn't know crocodile dundee sang for dokken

  • I think Dokken was pretty huge. I mean they had like 3 songs in Nightmare on Elm street!

  • the most underated bands of all time so much talent ,don dokken singing and george lynch can play guitar against anyone so amazing wish i could see them in concert again i seen them with 4 other bands and they put them all to shame best live show i ever seen in my dreams to see them play again

  • @gary101100 saw them at my state fair.....and he sounds terrible now sorry to say :/ Its good to know that he used to be able to sing live at least :)

  • are the original dokken still together?

  • @PEDROCLASSIC not since 1988...

  • @Rattmaster86 The only non-original player in Dokken is the former guitarist from Winger. George Lynch left in 1997.

  • @atsf3415dbr Reb Beach and Jeff Pilson left right after the Erase the Slate album, so Don and Mick Brown are the only two originals left.

  • @Rattmaster86 1997 actually, they reunited for about 3 or 4 years before they got a new guitarist.

  • @Rattmaster86 but a 2011 reunion is possible. It isn't the first reunion because the first was in the 90's

  • @Rattmaster86 no. after 1995

  • @Rattmaster86

The original Dokken reunited in the mid 90's for two cd's (Dysfunctional and Shadow Life).

  • @Rattmaster86

The original Dokken reunited in the mid 90's for two cd's (Dysfunctional and Shadow Life). (Dokken, Lynch, Pilson, Brown)

  • @Rattmaster86 They reunited in the mid 90s for one album, Dysfunctional.

  • @Belexes 2 albums actually (with Lynch), Dysfunctional (1995) and Shadowlife (1997).

  • @Rattmaster86 Correction...Since '97.

  • @Rattmaster86 not since 1995... get it right, ha

  • @norcalthunder haha,,,right, you got me...I was thinking about the first time they broke up.

  • @PEDROCLASSIC

Dokken is still touring but not with the entire original line-up. Jon Levin is the lead guitarist. Sean McNabb is on bass. Wild Mick Brown is still occasionally on drums when not touring with another group or side project.

  • @PEDROCLASSIC they were going to use the old line up but that piece o shit don fat ass cock sucker dokken back out.but jeff can sing better don is a waste

  • @PEDROCLASSIC

The original Dokken reunited in the mid 90's for two cd's (Dysfunctional and Shadow Life). (Dokken, Lynch, Pilson, Brown)

  • damn dude put this out on a dvd. where is this from? this is DOKKEN at the highest peak. BACK FOR THE ATTACK 1987 this album still rocks!!

  • they sound fucking awsome live

  • hey guns n roses pwn dokken

  • @ghdtmdvy No.

  • @thehuntersmetal no my ass, son

  • @ghdtmdvy

Don't even want to know about your ass.

  • @thehuntersmetal "don't even want to know" my ass, son

  • @ghdtmdvy Pull your pants up and go to your room.

  • @thehuntersmetal so much anger. get a life, son.

  • prolly blew aeroherionsmith off the stage

  • awesome solo dude........... leaved my mouth opened for 2 min like :O what the fuck!

  • The band may be called Dokken, but George Lynch's guitar is what made this band an interesting listen.

  • @TheDreamMechanic

I disagree. Lynch is a huge part of the band's sound, no doubt. But Don is one of the best voices in Metal. And he wrote a big chunk of their classic songs. He's also a fairly gifted guitarist himself.

  • I saw this tour in Cleveland in 1987. I was there just to see Dokken.

  • A shame Don can't hit those high notes anymore. Still, this video was a nice trip down memory lane.

  • Lynch is "The ripper guitarist of this era". Sound seperation was key too his sound live. Razor edged crunch supreme hot sauce optional!

  • Too bad bands dont kick ass like this anymore.

  • dokken and ratt were both overrated chick bands, they had a few hits but the rest of their songs sucked and nobody but maybe a few chicks ever heard them

  • he sure can play that guitar what his name .. james jimenez i think

  • Comment removed

  • DEEELLLAAAYYYY delay delay delaydealylaydedelaylaydelay.

i mean come on - between the vocals and george lynch they must have enough effects to make a whole other concert.

  • This song has such a kickass groove. The lyrics are perfect, the beats, the riffs, it's all spectacular.

  • Dokken in their fuckin heyday!

    Love it!

  • this clip gives kick ass music an all new meaning

  • Sadly, Dokkens worst asset was Don Dokken himself....He just came across as a complete fairy douchebag....Had the rest of the band had a halfway 'masculine' singer, they'd have gone ALOT farther in the business ....I mean, who the FUCK wears that kind of get-up during a live show??? how friggin embarrassing

  • Gotta say, I love Dokken. Not as heavy as I usually like, but still an outstanding band. I grew up on OC punk like adolescents, TSOL, Fear, MIA, Penneywise, etc. and LA Metal like VH, Crue, LA Guns, etc. So Dokken always fit right in and KNAC played them a bit (not enough). Took their tapes around the world with me. Too bad they can't squash the BS and reunite for real.

Also... Don's stage presence is laughable. And lose the echo effect on your vocals, sir. It's annoying.

  • They were the biggest (multi-platinum) band of that late '80's scene that never had a big, headlining tour. Maybe their management held them back. Anyway, UL&K came out right before I went to Boot Camp and I had a friend send me a cassette for Sunday radio hour. Got 2 Dokken tracks on in barracks and everyone liked them. The Rednecks, the R&B brothers, everyone loved them. So Every Sunday those last few weeks we heard Dokken for a few minutes and it made me ready to charge in to another week.

  • wow... one of the best live videos I've seen

  • goin to see dokken this saturday!

  • wow this rips, Dokken at their peak, within 2 yrs they broke up, never to get back to this form.

  • Ha I saw this tour October 30 1987..w/Aerosmith at the Providence Civic Center...was like..uhh...21..me and my old bass player picked up 2 chicks and ended up in a hotel in Pawtucket for the night....ahh those were the glory days indeed..damn am I getting old!!!lol

  • dokken and ratt are the same in popularity i think they both have amzing songs that not one suks. but they are given very little credit. very underrated

  • @Rattfan001 Ratt was more popular, they headliners. Bon Jovi and Poison opened for them back in the mid 80's.

  • @Rattfan001

dokken had the better guitarist no contest.

  • EPIC PERFORMANCE

  • For me, Dokken is way better than Aerosmith. Thumbs up if you think the same.

  • Great band, great song, super guitar player ! Dokken had their own sound, hard edged, muscially above average against all the other 80s band. Fault wise ... they didn't really have a gimmick .... other than just playing bad ass songs. I would say the MOST under-rated band ever in any genre. Alot of their peers gave them more credit than the critics or fans. Don't hate .. just appreciate !

  • i love the old dokken tunes and i agree they are/were so underrated and they had the following just that they needed to breakout and headline shows and had they done that at the right time they could have been huge i love em i had the cassetts always crnked up ion my car and yes i did say CASSETTS LOL peace

  • dokken was not huge they were merely a 4 inch cock in a world of average 6 inch cocks i only used the fag "analogy" in a world filled with fags

  • If they weren't huge...huge being having more than one platinum record...than I'd love to be in a small band like Dokken.

  • Awesome.

  • i always liked them i dont care what people say beast from the east is one of my all time favorite albums a true masterpiece

  • god george lynch is just a god on guitar.

  • lol wtf....dokken IS huge.....just because your not micheal jackson status doesnt mean your not huge.......

  • @circagreen123 Dokken is one of the best bands from the 80's that;s for sure. But the debate here is that they never made it big in terms of headlining their own show. They played their whole career as just an opening act for other bands. We're arguing that they were good enough and show have headlined by 1987 instead of opening for Aerosmith. Because of that, Dokken was not huge, just a fairly good 80's band. That's not a dis to them tho, I and everybody here loves them, very underrated...

  • @Rattmaster86 Yeah you can probably say the same thing about L.A. Guns,Quiet Riot,Faster Pussycat and many many more. It's kind of weird how one makes it big while another does not.I guess it comes down to talent, timing, management, attitude and alot of other parameters-just the throw of a dice sometimes.Funny thing now is you have bands like Steel Panther doing alright-thanks for the posting-classic Dokken/Lynch.

  • @Rattmaster86 agreed!

  • @Rattmaster86 I agree.. same with queensryche.. they are a much better band than i think they got credit for...

  • @Rattmaster86 thats not true i seen dokken as a headliner with 4 other bands and 2 of the bands were ratt and warrant

  • @gary101100 what year and what kinda of venue, a festival?

  • @Rattmaster86 i think it was in 2002 or 03 in watertown ny can;t remember the name of the festival .but dokken was te headliner i seen wye they were great live

  • I wish I had gotten to see Dokken during this time. I loved them so much then and still love them today. AWESOME!

  • lynch always pwn me

  • 02:00 - Fuckin' Mick Hucknall!!!!!!

  • Glam kicks ass!

  • huge difference. was so much better back then. listen to this crap youtube.com/watch?v=0k1xalhPHdA&feature=related

  • That dude has his SRV garb on

  • Why aren't they on a headling tour here? since Under Lock & Key came out in 85 they should be headlining.

  • @mcrue16 Cuz they were never that popular. Thier music was a bit to commercial and radio friendly. It was good, but people prefered the other dirtier sleazier bands.

  • Wow....some seriously sloppy soloing starting at the 2:24 til the 2:38 mark..phew.

  • George just owned the night

  • Cool! I saw them in the late 80s when they played the Monsters of Rock tour with Van Halen, Scorpions, Metallica and Kingdom Come. Please check out my cover video :)

  • Why would this band open for Anyone? Aerosmith sux and Lynch is better than Steve Perry. This Band was so underrated.

  • Great video with great audio. Nice! Kind of captures the band at their peak.

  • GREAT SONG !!!

  • the sound is amazing on this, they look and sound incredible, those harmonies are just absolutely awesome!! this is one of my all time favourite songs ever!

  • Wow! I remember this tour, they made Aerosmith look like old geezers! Ahh, it brings back memories of being 17 again. Good times...

  • His band favorites were Bananrama and boy bands. asswipe doesnt know real music.

  • in spain open for accept

  • their studion cuts were so bland compared to this live stuff.its way more raw

  • Rattmaster86 RULES!!

  • This performance is where Dokken's demise began (unfortunately...) Lynch was experimenting with new effects and sound. If you watch this vid closely, you will notice how he cleans/changes the sound of his guitar during the chorus, but he misses the que at times... D. Dokken was pissed, hence the beginning of the end for this awesome line-up... though they did manage to stay together for a bit longer... Sad, that we all lost the fervor of their music.

  • i recently got one of those randall rg100es snakeskin amps that lynch uses here... fuckin amazing... i got it to get dime tones more than lynch but the motherfucker has some balls... hook it up with a furman pq3 or 4 and an mxr six band eq and its guaranteed to make u shit blood!!! (in a good way)

  • Saw dokken open up for Twisted Sister 85 or 86 in Pittsburgh; was one of the best 80's hair bands

  • George has this vid linked on his Facebook page.

  • I WASS THERE THAT NIGHT!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • id listen to dokken over aerosmith anyday,i dont know about over acdc ,but dokken is way cooler than aerosmith

  • George is a wild beast that can play the fuck out of the guitar!

  • Keep Rockin' with Dokken! Awesome solo by George! My fave guitarist. If I remember correctly this solo won the best solo in one of Guitar World's choice award or something like that. Thanks for sharing!

  • Comment removed

  • did they open for priest on this tour?

  • Aerosmith. Saw that combo in my home town around the same time. They opened for Priest the previous year (Summer '86).
