but its with GPU acceleration... a core 2 solo 1.4GHZ cannot play back h264 in full HD res

@summ22 - That's the point... It's not that the Core2Solo is fast or not. It's the fact that the Timeline can play these files with no problems. :)

@summ22 ahh but it can i run mine at 1920x1080i on my projector to watch movies on it the screen on this thing wont run 1080 res but it handles 1080i just fine

@theflyingdiablo 1080p and 1080i are the same, just one is interlaced and one is progressive. that is how the frames are recorded and played back.

there is no 1920x1080i just 1920x1080.

can you post HD video played from mkv container. There are no HD films in wma format except Microsoft demos

That's from the air-conditioner in my room, sorry for the hum, it's definitely not from the laptop... the laptop barely even uses it's own fan, it runs very cool. Exceptionally silent.

dude thanks for replying back quick. ive decided im gonna buy this laptop with the 1.3ghz dual core processor; i tried out that version in pc world (although way too expensive to buy from there) and tried maxing it out with loads of programs and it ran alright!

Yes it would. Those progams you mentioned do not need that much CPU power. I run Photoshop CS4 on it, and it handles quite well.

I run Photoshop CS4 on my old P3 1.1 GHZ and it runs pretty decent on 5MP pictuers

People forget that Digital Editing was even done on old ass Pentium 200mhz ....

Since this is the 3810t and not the 3810tg, I'm assuming this is the one with the intel 4500mhd and not the ati 4330. Am I right?

Yes, its the one with the INTEL graphics... The one wit the ATI was not available at the time I got my Timeline.

Looks good! Do you use 32-bit or 64-bit OS? Have you tried using photoshop if so how does the computer perform?
