@FederalistFilms It does deserve equal attention, when you have people going to jail over holding a dime bag, unable to find jobs because no one wants to hire an ex convict, that contributes to poverty, pretending like it doesn't is wholly intellectually dishonest. We can't continue treating this like a third rail issue, its an issue that is rising in popularity, I support both state initiatives and federal initiatives.

@FederalistFilms I talk about things like cutting military expenditures, ending the wars and creating jobs, but I also talk about marijuana advocacy, its an issue that is important to me, this happens to be one of those videos. And it is hardly the third rail issue that it was even when I was in high school, its fast becoming a very mainstream issue with serious politicians like Barney Frank sponsoring bills to de-schedule marijuana and presidential candidates like Gary Johnson running on it.

The right to life (taking the medicine that works for your ailment), Liberty (the freedom to do whatever you want to your body as long as you aren't hurting others) and the pursuit of happiness(The right to artificially elevate my mood with whichever chemicals I see fit weather its a prescription like Prozac or a plant like marijuana). @KrissytheWorldWithin (cont) There is no reason to criminalize and jail another human for ingesting a substance. We have a fourth of the worlds prisoners and the majority of those prisoners are in jail for non-violent drug offenses. In countries like Portugal, Denmark and the Netherlands which have decriminalized drug use and treat addiction (which is a separate issue from the marijuana, as marijuana is not physically habituating) as a public health issue instead of as a crime, drug use drops.

oh yes because we should just deal with stupid laws forever because legalizing pot isn't the most important thing, especially since legalizing pot would help with a lot of these important things medicine, reducing prison population, helping subdue violence either due to the drug war or the substances we are already aloud to use.by all means lets live with the stupidity of our country for the sake of saying hey look at that problem over there.

Its a human rights issue and an issue of body autonomy. Where are you getting the data that the majority of American's don't support legalization, because it seems that every year the numbers rise in support of legalization or least decriminalization.

@FederalistFilms Your comment would be relevant if it weren't the case that EVERY time that the public has the opportunity to ask the president and his administration about things drug law reform and repeal is always at the top of the list, you can't ignore that because its inconvenient to your beliefs. The Presidency is not a representative office. He was elected to run the executive branch of the federal government, not to give this or that constituency a pony. Besides Congress is where any legislation regarding pot is going to happen and even THEN it would still be up to the states if they repealed the Narcotics Acts
