Also Latino is a broad term including other races beside Mestizo, like White people, Black people, Mulattos, Zambos, and multiracial people. Also including the Asian and Arab descendents in Latin America. Latino is not a race. I'm guessing when you are referring to Latinos, you mean the Mestizos. Only in the U.S. the word Latino is used to mean the Mestizos. In Latin America, Latino means any race of people.

On my mother's side, her lineage is from Galicia & Catalonia, Spain (i.e my grandparents.) My mother was also born in Cuba.
We left Cuba while my father was sent to E. Germany as a Physics professor (part of an intellectual exchange program). We sought asylum in the USA when the wall cam down.

It was only the Spanish war machine that conquered the Native American tribes, after the Spanish left, the Mexican took control of their holdings for a few decades, and lost it to the much more powerful Americans.
