  • That shrimp stuffing looks yummy.

  • NO CAT in the kitchen while cooking!

  • LMAO!!! :) Loved the video! Very Funny!!! And you were very brave to attempt the turducken! Thank you for posting! (I want to attempt it, but now I know I should run a practice way before Thanksgiving... Or, have a back-up, just in case...) ;D

  • ok. just letting you know. The original Turducken was made by my Great Uncle. A man came in with a turkey, a duck, and a chicken. My uncle stuffed them all together. It started with my uncle. It is a cajun dish.

  • turducken is very expensive to make.

  • "I was going to make Turducken but my wife forget to pick up the Turd." David Feldman

  • You have to cut whole slices, not carve it like a regular turkey.

Very funny video. I like your style a lot! Happy Thanksgiving!

  • The cajun stuffing with rice and shrimp looks yummy.

  • LOVED DIS VID WATCH MINE! HEHEHEHHE

  • No one ate it because it turned out tasteless and dry because you didn't season the outside of the bird, plus you overcooked it because you relied on a meat thermometer instead of...ya know. estimating the time and then using your senses to know when it's done, which is what any decent chef would do.

Next time get someone who knows how to cook to cook it for you, tard.

  • Made one today. Turned out great. Cooked 225 for 8 hours. Cheers!!!

  • great editing

  • A good butcher to debone the birds is very helpful. Check out our series on the deboning process for more Turducken tips!

Also, duck breasts make it easier to save time and fit better into a smaller turkey.

  • Hi

    Bonnie...

As I prep for our turducken dinner this Thanksgiving,I decided to revisit your now classic video presentation. Oh yes,the first thing we got before anything else was the trusty,extra-long digital thermometer. Also,we will be removing the skin from both the duck and chicken as they tend to not brown and crisp up while encased within the turkey cavity.

Anyway, viewing your video has become a holiday tradition in itself in our home.

    Happy Thanksgiving & Christmas,

    Max

  • I am the crazy brother-in-law, and I have to admit, we have it pretty good up here in MI come holiday time. Friends and relatives, live music, and more good food than you could possibly eat. Happy Holidays!

P.S. C'mon Bonnie, make another turducken. Please!?!

  • i enjoyed watching this. the bird ended up looking sad, but the commentary and footage was fun. Now i feel in the right proper mood for Christmas!! yay! only four months to go!

  • We didn't remove the duck or chicken legs on our Turducken so we actually have 6 legs hanging off our bird! So awesome- the downside, the "juice" from the bird is oil so you can use it as a stock the way you normally would

  • That six-legged bird sounds hilarious. Thanks for posting.

  • I've never had an interest in cooking 'til now. That looks like fun stuff. Thanks for the video.

  • Thanks for posting it!

It was in "Dead Zone" (with A.M.Hall)!!! And it was the first time I heard about turducken..."What the hell's "turducken"?")))

I should try to make it myself.

Осталось только найти такую здоровую индейку, чтоб в неё столько влезло)))

  • Your family looks fun! Can I join? Seriously... my family seems to prefer arguing over singing... we don't really get along... :(

  • I had great fun viewing your video. I enjoyed your light-hearted sense of humor, and willingness to document how not every culinary project turns into a masterpiece. Your family and friends seems like they had a great time simply being together. Happy holidays!

  • stupid

  • cajun turkey co. is easier

  • Have you ever had a horcowgoatsheepdogcatmousefetus its a horse, cow, goat, sheep, dog, cat, mouse and a fetus all fully boned and 9 different stuffings

(one has poo in it) all rolled up and cooked in one. Its delicious!!!!

  • I actually want to try a turducken, but that sounds disgusting...

  • Thanks for a great video. I wanted to know how to build one of these tufducken things and now I know. But, I am going to show up at your place for Christmas dinner, due to the fact you guys know how to have fun. The family band is great! Thanks again.........

  • Im not into cooking, I like eating. But I do have to say your editing and video commentary is amazing.

  • nasty but cool

  • ducken turd

  • good video turducken sounds pretty good

  • does it have to have the word turd in it

  • A charming video. Hardly belongs on YouTube. Thanks for going through all the trouble to make the video, never mind the monster bird.

    Nice!

  • i liked that video. it was really homey, reminds me of my mom.

i know a guy who cooked a turducken a few years back for thanksgiving, deep fried it for something like 14 hours. that sounds a bit extreme, but i got the feeling he knew what he was talking about, seemed like he'd done it before.

  • Made me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside.

  • I somehow ended up here from a conservative video... :-) Whatever your political viewpoints are that was outstanding! Something I have not undertaken yet, did the whole stuffed goose thing last year, but have been wanting to try.. Thanks for the glimpse of your family, and the very well produced video.

  • i'm gunna hunt me one of dem turduckens!

  • hyuck!

  • That was really well done. Good job. Have you ever tried a turkey fryer? That'd be fun to see.

  • This video is a charming slice of family life -- regardless of your dietary opinions. Well done.

  • y not just a turkey a duck and a chicken?

that way ppl get what they want

and tey dont have too look at sumthin that loks that disgusting

  • Entertaining! For what its worth 1) Try on Thanksgiving (It can eat up your Xmas) 2) You NEED 9 hrs @ 225. The Juices will mingle making the result pure moist meat heaven. 3) Cut straight through slices getting all birds in each slice. Have FUN! Thanks:)

  • its not that Americans are fat because they eat too much, or even because they eat stuff like this, its because of the overabundance and ease of access to fast food which is honestly just a ridiculous idea. 40% daily value of sodium in one serving. thats basically mummifying yourself. so next time youre eating that burger go home and look up a picture of king tut, thats your stomach. bon appetit

  • Well, that and the fact they hardly get any exercise, they hop in the car to go 2 blocks to the market...

  • There is a saying that if you want to help fix the world, look in the mirror first. Once you've fixed those problems, you're welcome to then go out a try to fix others...

I'm an American, I'm not fat and never have been and never will be. I get plenty of exercise because I work hard. Please don't ever lump a group of people together. People need to get along - let's not look for differences. Instead let's look for the love in each other.

  • nice, i really enjoyed those 7mins :)

  • O_o i am now appaled to call myself an american i cant belive how fat we are

  • great video. really wonderful story. im jealous.... of it all

  • cool video it was interesting to watch,it was funny when to two ladys were playing on the DS :)

  • i think they were looking at a photo album

  • Great video!

  • wtf u dumbass y would u listen 2 your retared jesse he fooled u god yallv dumb never again but good camera and narration and stupid people

    hahahaHhHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAH

  • Usually get Turduckens prestuffed.

Problem: size. Risk: burning turkey to cook other two. Best: lower temp + longer time. If: Turducken's weight > yr. normal bird, = BIG trouble. No stuffing but Chick's, & use small birds. Meats juicy: use gr. onion sausage stuffing. Bird's don't dry out, + a meatier flavor. Cooks to a oval cylinder (cuts straight through @ about 1-2 slices of bread in width).

Fun nightmare: father smoked a Turducken 24ish hours. No leftovers.

  • Ditto this. I've made Turduckens many times and we prepare it the day before and put it in the oven around midnight. We have to eat it earlier than normal the next day but it tastes HEAVENLY. I've never eaten turkey so moist.

  • i wanna make a turducken

  • I loved your video, the narration was really good. I wish that my family celebrated christmas like you do. With all your relatives coming together. Anyways great vid

  • that looks good.

  • i think it was informative and thank you for sharng it must have been fun doing it

  • Lovely video. Im from Michigan and I miss home. Your holiday there looked cozy and fun. (Mixed with alot of hard labors of love) Thanks for sharing.

  • :S brrrrrrrrrr

  • lol. funny and informative

  • pause it at 2:55. It's disgusting!

  • no @ 2:56

    StopMotionGang

  • What a well done and fun video! Thank you for your effort...sorry the Ducken part didn't materialize with the Tur portion, but it looks like you guys had a great Thanksgiving regardless. ...it actually looks like you guys would have a good, fun Thanksgiving with only hot dogs and potato chips!

  • whoa.... i go shopping there too!

  • Great video! I've made a turducken using the 10 hour/250F method. I also used thinner stuffings for each layer. It was all prepared and waiting in the fridge before I went to bed and then at 5am I got up, put that sucker in (10 minutes max) and went back to bed. It was perfectly done by 3pm and was AMAZING!!! The trick is carving; don't carve it like a turkey, slice it through like a loaf of bread. A well-worth treat for one in a few years!

  • Had it not been for the Great Turkey Fire of 1964, I would have picked the long, slow method. In that fateful year, my big bird caught on fire when drippings hit the gas flame, so we inadvertently invented charcoal-broiled turkey.

  • excessive gluttony

  • awesome! Thanks!!!

  • Nicely made video. And now i know a little more about this....turducken thingy :D

  • Don't eat this, ill prepared, cat licked, raw product. No matter how cute the narrator sounds, she's offering up a filthy product garunteed to eventually kill some poor unfortunate person who didn't know about the dirty cat mouth and ass and the non-gloved hands preparing it! Yuck!

  • Gloves retain more bacteria than properly washed bare hands :P

  • how do you know a cat licked this thing??!!

  • Dur, you forgot the oven KILLS BACTERIA.

  • VERY CUTE VIDEO!

  • Very sweet, loving and cute. Great family story and a fun way to learn about turducken. Ever heard of the Bedouin version? It's a camel stuffed with a calf stuffed with a sheep stuffed with chickens stuffed with eggs.

    Cheers!

  • looks like a lot of fun!!

  • awesome, thanks for making this, made my day:)

  • personally i wouldn't eat anything with "Turd" in the name.

  • ...like going snipe hunting with Dick Cheney... LMAO!

  • narration was great

  • lol sorry about ur Turducken. I used to think that it was a WHOLE Duck inside a whole Chicken inside a whole turkey. (but at least u had a good time with ur friends and family.) :)

  • Wonderful! I enjoyed this all the more because I tried cooking a turducken last year and it was an utter disaster.

May advice to anyone considering doing this: DON'T!

  • What type of turds do you use in your turducken?

  • What the fuck is this mess???? What hell did you have to do to get all this? Kill the whole cast of the lion king???

  • Pretty sure no chickens, ducks or turkeys were involved in the production of The Lion King or its sequels.

  • This is a pretty feel good video. Thank you!

  • Very nice

  • Will you adopt me? I think I love your family.

  • what state is this in ???

  • Michigan

  • Very whimsical. Thank you...reminds me of back home!!!

  • Besides the Turduckcaten, that Christmas looked very warm and inviting. It's good to see families enjoying big Christmases still.

  • Maybe I'm seeing things... but at exactly 2 minutes and 49 seconds into the video the raw meat looked like a skinned cat. The ear is in the right hand corner of the sink. hmm....

  • i can see it

  • No, no, no. I am the world's biggest animal lover. I even ran my dog for governor.

  • thought this was just a joke on the radio here in jersey.. this is real..

  • this video deeply disturbed me. turducken seems gross in many ways

  • no, you're gross >=(

  • looks like a fun christmas

  • Next year you should try a turkey shaped pan so that it won't turn into a cube :P

  • Neat video and the food looked great.

Tried to look up your receipes, but that website didn't come up!

Can you e-mail me any of them?

  • Nevermind! I found it! LOL!

  • Very entertaining!

  • Christmas looks like fun at your house.

  • People

    Tasty

    Animals

  • I guess they didn't know how to carve it! First, you cut the "bird" lengthwise in half, then you lay it cut side down and slice across the entire "bird" from side-to-side, so each slice has some of each bird and each stuffing.

But it was a fun video, all the same =)

  • this was comedic. i'd like to make one too, but I don't want to wait 8 or 9 ours at 200 whatever degrees it was like i've heard before.

    nice job.

  • funny!,crazy and sick meat is bad for you LOL!

  • Bonnie...

Have you ever considerd a career in stand-up comedy? Your dry ,matter of fact delivery is priceless!

  • A+ for effort, Bonnie! Given the difficulties, I feel less disappointed about missing the big event(s). --Zenzi

  • Bonnie

You are a genius for having your meat man Doc de-bone tour birds (I did it myself and goofed it big time!)

Nevertheless,we did enjoy our three dressed birds...but seperately...LOL!
