The trick is to add alot of disturgant and start mixing slowly and then get faster, it should work with all disturgant. The distant I use is X-TRA laundry disturgant

oh heres another recipe too, no exact amount just put in glue and put in a little bit of liquid laudruy detergent (put in a little bit less than the glue amount) and stir, and put in a ziploc bag and squeeze it then take it out and play with it, it will seem to mold into putty. Good luck!! (sorry for spelling mistakes)

Found a ten year (or older) bottle of Elmers glue, it was like water and smelt bad. I don't know why i smelt it but yes it smelt bad. Added detergent, no change. Added solid dish washing soap, then it turned into an extremely hard ball. Smells good now.
