FYI rob was voted one of the best dressed males at the oscars!! hes was compared to dean martin.. frank sanatra (old hollywood) and that the other guys need to copy off of robs style..

I think basically Rob sounds American because he spends most of his time over in the US. If you spend loads of time somewhere you will eventually pick up the accent naturally, so maybe that's why he sounds American :) However if you mean in Twilight then he basically has to use an American accent because the character is American.

You don't hear any of the other young English actors speaking with American accents and they've worked in the States, which is a lame excuse anyway as Pattinson's only been in the States little less than a year, on and off. I dunno, I just think its pretencious.
OMGGG! I screamed when I saw this, I screamed so hard, I got told off for it!! He looks stunning, and I think he presented the award so perfectly, there was no need for him to be nervous!! He is always great! Gosh, I'm Robsessed!! Loved his hair!! Such a talented Actor!!! Love himm!! X

and in interviews u hear his accent...i was surprised, when i heard it...
